A message from the director

Dr. Renu Vig

It gives me immense pleasure in unfolding this issue of QUIET. This edition is the 13th in the series of the campus magazine which harbors the valued thoughts of the students and further sets a benchmark for the forthcoming editions. The magazine facilitates and boosts the exuberance that bursts forth from every corner of the campus. It acts as a medium to put forward their opinion about various topics that concern them and promotes them to share their knowledge with peers. I congratulate team Magboard for their endeavor. Enjoy reading.

QUIET facilitates and boosts the exuberance that bursts forth from every corner of the campus.

The river of time flows smoothly without any pauses and here we witnessed one more year as it passes by. The year was filled up to the brim with events technical, cultural and literary. It was one more year of trials and triumphs. In this issue of Quiet we have tried to capture every pulse and beat of the melody of this institution and put in the ideas and creativity of many young minds. Discussions and decisions on Facebook and whatsapp, sharing folders for editing on dropbox, editing on MS word and designing on InDesign has helped to shape up this edition of QUIET . It has been a wonderful journey which could not have been possible without the support and guidance of our teachers in charge- Mrs Nisha Tayal and Dr. Kalpana Dahiya, the tireless effort of the magboard team and the contribution from the pool of talented young people in UIET. I thank you all for your invaluable contribution. I apologize for pestering some of you (utechnos committees convenors, budding writers, artists and technologists) even during your holidays , to send in your entries. But I am sure that when this amazing creation brings a smile to your lips, I would be absolved of this guilt. Its only when you have been a part of the making of the magazine you realize what an awe-inspiring job it is. So congratulations, you are now the proud owner of your e-copy of this absolutely wonderful issue of Quiet13. I hope this canvas of literature shaded in varying hues and ideas from ignited minds keeps you entertained. With this I pull down the curtains. Happy reading to all!

An engineering institute, if youll ask a layman, is supposed to be about, well engineering and all the technical and scientific paraphelia associated with it. It should be about teaching the students the technical know-how and inculcating in them the skills required to utilize their knowledge. But the truth is, none of us live in a complete isolated vacuum and our lives are about much more than what we are studying or what we want to do. The world is vast and varied and weird and blunt and beautiful and scary and completely and utterly wonderful. And so are we. Each and every single one of us is the sum of a numbers of varied desires and wants and needs and interests. We are at an age where we dont know what we want to do. Or what we want to do is everything. So QUIET is an outlet for the extremely talented and vastly intelligent people of our college to explore and showcase the results of their various artistic pursuits in fields such as drawings and articles and poetry and sketches, besides others. Some of the articles have a literary bent to them, some are philosophical musings, some are the result of critical appraisal of works. And then for those which are of the technical variety, we have a complete section devoted to it-seeing as all of us are, at the end of the day, engineers-called TECHILA. I would like to thank our wonderful teachers in charge who have been a source of constant guidance for us and also to the entire Magboard team and everyone who has worked on the magazine and for sending us the innumerous contributions. We hope you enjoy reading QUIET13, as much as we enjoyed working on it!

Quiet13 is the perfect blend of technical and literary articles brought together to give the readers an amazing experience and a valuable read. Contrary to the title QUIET it reflects upon the opinion of the students on matters ranging from the latest technological developments to the challenges our society face today. A separate section for art and poetry acts as a medium to showcase the enormous talent the students possess and encourage others to follow their interests . Quiet13 is an honest attempt by team Mag Board to provide the readers a pleasant reading. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did in presenting it to you.

If you are reading this, it means despite everyones attempts to foil my evil plans of imposing my design and ideas on the readers of this magazine have failed, and I am one step closer to becoming the successful designer that I hope to be. All of us at the magboard team realise that you were expecting this earlier this year, but we have a good reason for that: it wasnt perfect until the moment it was perfect. Im going to keep this short here, because there have already been too many messages to read, and we all know people dont like to read messages unless it is on a 4 inch screen. Adios!

But its not IN mom!!!, I saw my tween cousin cry out in indignation when her mom tried to persuade her into wearing a salwar-kameez to the latest do. Oh but it suits you honey! replied the helpless mother. Eventually the poor mother gave in and the round and plump tween-aged kid walked away with the short one piece dress that would undoubtedly make her standout in the crowd. (pun intended) Back in school, Im sure we despised the fact that we all looked like we had been churned out of the same factory- the same dress, shoes, hairdos etc. How we longed to get into college and embrace our individuality! But have we? The clothes may have changed but when it comes to our style, our careers, we tend to stick to the safe way out. And generally safe is what everyone else seems to be doing. Lets take up Non-Medical because it seems to have more avenues (thats what they say). Really? Tell that to all the third and fourth rung engineering college graduates! In the 80s, the sentiment in the stock market was highly bullish, everyone was investing somewhere or the other. Sabziwallahs and rehriwallahs could be seen discussing the latest stock to invest in on the roads. When the newspapers announced one fine day that the sensex had crashed, many of them who had lost their hard earned money, were unsure of what sensex meant! Its O.K. to follow the crowd but not blindly. Its important to keep in mind ones circumstances and limitations before we throw ourselves into the flower bed everyone else seems to be jumping in. It may have some thorns for all you know!
8

In college too, the herd mentality is ominous in the faade of show-off. Facebook is a great way of sparking off a trend and making others follow. The Login page proudly claims It helps you connect and share with people. Yes, very true. But then they forgot to add and makes you realize how pathetic your life is compared to them. The more you know what great stuff people around you are doing, the more you want to try it out yourself, the more your disappointment on learning that you cant! A recent survey proved that Facebook causes the maximum cases of depression among teenagers. Youre having the best time of your life and whats better? You get to rub it in on the havenots courtesy Facebook! But I cant completely agree with the conclusion of this survey. Yes, the problem may have been magnified by FB. But the propensity of doing things just to get a false sense of vanity by showing-off to everyone else had always been there, more so among teenagers. Somebody urgently needs to rescue ingenuity and individuality from the dungeons, dust off those cobwebs from them and help them saunter in the sun light. Theres nothing wrong in travelling the road less traveled or treading the path untrodden! In fact some of the greatest people on the face of the earth like Barack Obama and Bill Gates, had been rebuffed by the masses because of their uniqueness. But thats what makes a leader the ability to make others follow ! But then again not everyone is destined to be one, but those who do, are adept at the art of thinking differently!

They say college life is the best of an individuals life, something you dont forget a lifetime And those who have lived this life would advise you to never let a moment go in vain. While we the people seldom live our lives and nearing exams we tend to spite this very life a bit. But what I go college for: Because college is a true learning experience, not just academically but also for life. In fact the academics part is much more of a last minute struggle, rather than a punctual routine of enhancing your knowledge in your chosen field. Though not questioning our lax education system I think we go to college to make memories, to learn something new every day, to do something people say is stupid just to find out why it is stupid. College is the best time to make mistakes and be a kid for the last time. Of course a wise fellow would also enhance his/her specialization skill(s) because they are answerable at the time of placement, but that could be an hour a day job with excellent results. I believe we should heed what our ancestors (in college life) and do what the mind wants. We wont get this kind of freedom and opportunities when we enter the era of

adulthood. Nobody had such freedom in school life, and in your 9-5 jobs you are again bound i.e. yesterday you were responsible and tomorrow you would have responsibilities. And thats why you need to value your time with due respect. Keep a balance between work and fun, make excellent memories, and try everything you ever had the mind to. And learn something every day. Dont hold a grudge or act cold for the sake of it, because that is a waste of time, and you wont get this time back (not considering the fact that a time machine is built in the near future). So I guess, in a nutshell I go to college because of attendance issues, to learn something new every day, and to make memories of the best time of my life, as I trust the wise pass outs who say You can never have enough fun in college and barring most illegal, but fun, acts I wish to heed their wise words .Make every moment count!

Leap of Faith

We enjoy living in that little dream world of ours where everything is much more beautiful than a fairytale. A starry night, gentle breeze blowing through the trees and the sound of rustling of leaves caressing our soul. Behold that moment when the sand in the hour glass stops flowing. The moment is as pure as a sparkling icicle. But in order to live these moments we need to take a Leap of Faith. Faith in ourselves and the person we love. No matter how much we love that person nothing can really happen until and unless we tell them about our feelings. Trust me, love doesnt happen every day nor does it happen to everyone. If you are one of those lucky blessed lot to have felt emotions of such intensity, then express it. Waiting for the other person to make the first move is like looking for a shooting star in a clear sky. You might see one but the possibility is one in a billion. So why leave something so important in life to the hands of fate? The fear of rejection is something that holds us back every time

we decide to make a move. Love is no less than a game of chess but you cant save the king if you constantly fear of being checkmated. Having said that, be high spirited and brave enough to face the consequences. Not every story has a perfect ending. Even if we dont get the person we love, we shouldnt ever give up our faith. There are a billion other people who might touch your heart, so never lose hope. If your story does have a happy ending and sparks do fly from both the sides then there could be nothing more marvellous and resplendent than that. Being loved by the person who means the world to you is a miracle in itself. So if you are tired of holding back, then just let go all the pangs of doubt and anxiety and speak your heart out. Let loose your feelings and emotions just like helium balloons and let them rise high in the sky and choose their own destination.

Why a Galaxy, dude? Why, I ask you? was the question I HAD to ask. Well, you see, I was planning to go jump into my time machine, and sell it to the Chinese and make millions, thats why! Karan replied. Baaaaah, well technically, you cannot, the absence of a receiving station being a hindrance. I said, stuffing my phone further into my pocket. Google owns Facebook. sir said, and it almost made Karan Google this on his new phone. What receiving end? he asked while typing. This could take a while I replied. Whos taking down notes anyway? he said, putting down his pen waiting for an answer. Okay, here it goes, time travel requires a sending station, and a receiving end. If you are to travel back in time, then it obviously implies that you have a station to land on. And since the technology wasnt cool enough in the yesteryears that happens to be impossible. So, if you do make a time machine in the near future, all you could do is to transport yourself further into the future, not in the present, or the past, for that matter. Now, riddle me this. Suppose I am an evil scientist, ready to conquer the world as we know it, and you are a goody two- shoe, trying to stop me in my endeavours. So, I go back in time (assuming the existence of a receiving time pad), and try to prevent you from being born, and succeed. When I come back, my world has changed, and you, to my relief, are not there. Question is, the event which prompted me to go to the past was your very existence. How do you justify my rendezvous with the past? Why did I go there, if you were never in this world to begin with? Karan had the correct answer with him and

replied, Well, your action created an alternate universe where I never existed, but I still exist in that timeline where you travelled from. An alternate reality where you are evil and everybody knows it! You have just added another universe to the already existing infinite universes, each pertaining to every consequence of every action you take. Comics? I asked. Yup, he added and further queried Waise, what do you mean exactly when you say we travel back in time? To which I explained, We never travel back in time, as much as time becomes slower in our frame of reference. Citing an example, assume a pair of twin brothers born at exactly the same time. Assumption hai because this is not possible physiologically. They age at exactly the same rate. One of the brothers becomes an astronaut, and the other not-an-astronaut. He sets sails for the stars far away at the moment they both turn 30, in a space capsule that travels at a speed just exceeding the speed of lig ht. When the astronaut brother returns to the Earth after one day has passed in his time frame, he will notice his twin to be 20 years older than him now, and he wont have aged a day! All this because his clock travelled slower, one of the three consequences of the general theory of relativity: Mass Increment, Time Dilation, and Length Contraction. You there? Stand up! What is C? sir shouted. The third letter of the English alphabet was all I could come up with. Okay! 78 and 85. No attendance. Time travel doesnt seem to be a bad option right now, eh? Karan said with a sore face.

Position of w men in India

Adorned in the grace of the meanders of a saree, quelling the darkness of evil and standing with a lamp in every situation is what a women stands for. She is the generator and the source of life. She is the homemaker but isnt it ironical that the homemaker herself is homeless, powerless, devoid of rights and chained in rituals. The degradation in womens position has been slow starting from the later vedic age and culminating in period of Dharmashastras but has been lethal now. We must justify that in the mobile generation of today, women have crossed the boundary of other homes but their rights are still pilferaged. She is still expected to be a sea over the storm, she is still expected to have steel in her spine, she is expected to nurse not only male emotions but also their bloated ego. Talking of history Basarveshvara, the 12th century philosopher was the first to advocate equality, castelessness .Independence of India heralded the introduction of laws relating to women. But there are disparities even then, on one hand where we have the UN charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Convention on Elimination of all Forums of Discrimination against women for Legal Rights and on the other hand we have J&K Permanent Resident (disqualifications) Bill 2004 which deprived women of the states of permanent residency of the state if she is married to an outsider. Both adulthood and childhood males are fed first and better. A study reveals that females are provided 1000 calories per day lesser than male counter parts, we have 933 females per 1000 males according to 2001 census, 120 million women lived in abject poverty ,there are 27% maternal death ,every 6th infant death is because of gender discrimination. And the jaw-dropping part of the scene is that in this 21st century which runs on a cognitive approach, the arrest of women even in the absence of lady police is allowed. World bank report conclude that poor women are clearly more efficient economic actors but still she has to live a life without a curtain in her own home. The multiple cases of sexual assault are but a bane on society. She is treated as a material, as a machine, as a junk. She not just drapes her saree but also her tears in it. It is definitely a blunder, that the form of Aadishakti is being underestimated and abused. The world must not forget that she has been Laxmi Bai who fought the world alone, like Kalpana Chawla who conquered heavens, like Sarojini Naidu who fought for the independence of India and the list is endless. In other words she is a Multitasker. Evil is going to break free if she is continuously subjugated. Let this article be an eye opener to all, let women spread her fragrance without shackles; dont place her in sordid equations. Love her and love will come to you increased manifold. Because even if she is slain she will work to carve a rainbow for her partner with her blood. Dont oppress her so much that she is herself afraid to come out of the womb and prays for death herself inside it. I would like to end in these words that demonstrate the aura of women:

Do you not know I am a woman? when I think, I must speak.

G.O.Y.: Get Over Yourself

Nothing works better than some introspection, told the teacher to her students. This Nun is crazy, thought most of them, well, to be honest she probably was to some extent, being a borderline sociopath but she was right about introspection even if she did not know it. Scrutinizing your own person, though enervating, can prove to be a brazen step towards a pragmatic and wholesome personality. Take a good look at yourself and get over yourself. Pity is a tool used by the weak; a person with everything going for him would be unlikely to feel self-pity than a person ready to tear his head off. Personally, over the twenty years of my existence I never have got the point of pity. It is an unnecessary evil prevalent everywhere today. Did Moby Dick show pity to Ahab or anyone else on the crew of Pequod? Does a ruthless jaguar show any pity to a magnificent deer about to become its prey? No good ever comes from pity, only self-loathing and hatred towards others. Dust yourself up, stop putting limits on your abilities and get over yourself. Only an idiot will tell you that you can be anything. Real world does not work like that, you cannot dunk in the NBA if you are a chubby 5 ft. 4 inches guy with a lungs disorder but that doesnt mean you cant do anything worthwhile in you life. Picasso could paint, Shakespeare could write, Einstein could do math and

youwell you can do whatever makes sense to you. An actual dimwit would give the example of a Zuckerberg or Jobs at this point, there is a reason that the world is not filled with billionaires, they knew what they wanted to do and got on with their lives rather than dwelling on their past. Stop dreaming; be realistic but enthusiastic and go with what your hormones tell you. Get over yourself. You know those little morals at the end of any Ekta Kapoor sitcom or a Sandra Bullock movie, a little secret, THEY ARE NOT REAL. In fact they are the very epitomes of a hyperbole. No one turns their life around overnight, it take days, weeks and months of sincere efforts. Honestly, its depressing to see people feel sad for themselves, read chicken soup books and corny Mars-Venus novels, which state some hopelessly derivative and shockingly stupid facts to its gullible reader. Get out of your bed and explore the real world with your own eyes rather than the words of a stranger whom you barely know; get over yourself. People often employ religion against such logic, trying to logically prove something by the means of something completely illogical. Think yourself, which one of the two seem better: A world respected naturalist Charles Darwin devoting his entire life to prove (correctly so) that evolution is what lead us
13

to where we are todayOR a couple of white people got together and decided to create the entire human race by munching a delicious-sounding apple. You be the judge, but dont for one second stop questioning the logic on which the beautiful world around you is based. Listen to the voice of reason inside you, everyone has one and PLEASE get over yourself. Everyone goes his or her separate ways in life, from the very moment one is born, so this makes no one a better judge of the right passage than you, certainly not the good-natured stranger writing this article, but then, what is the point of any literature if not to help a fellow perplexed human. Some ignorant and thick-minded individuals might consider the aforementioned points pessimistic and outright insulting, but in reality it is

one of the most encouraging and realistic things you will ever read. On a side note, all those who simply cant fester the point of the entire piece, Id say, well, get over yourself. Introspection is a big part of self-awareness and self-motivation and consequently the success it brings. The teacher may not have realized it but any half-wit reader can easily get it. The above article has no point, it is neither a rampant vent nor a strike at someone for their respective beliefs, there is no hidden truth in these 700 odd words, and its outright fallacious and deleterious to derive or assume any such thing, there are some of the most common and to some extent mundane- facts forth by a somewhat disturbed individual who just wants you to get over yourself.

I happened to be part of a team that had interviewed Mr. Jaspal Bhatti in early 2011. Here are a few Excerpts from the interview. Q. To start with we would like to know something about your childhood and college days. A. I was born into a Sikh Rajput family of Amritsar, where I spent most of my childhood. I came to Chandigarh for pursuing my Electrical Engineering at Punjab Engineering College. It was here that I started getting involved in organizing street plays as part of The Nonsense Club activities. These plays were usually satires on the corruption prevalent in society. College was so much fun, I still miss those days. Q. What inspired you to venture into comedy and television instead of moving into the corporate world of engineers? A. I guess, somehow, I always used to be more interested in the world outside of books and interestingly enough, a 10 on 10 in a test never used to fetch me that good recognition as these ulte sidhe kaam would. So I thought of giving it a try and ended up moving into an entirely different field. Q. Moving on to Social issues, Punjab is a state doomed by menace of drug addiction. How would you like to comment on that? A. It is a very sorry state of affairs that the youth of Punjab are not being able to reason out what is good for them and what is not. I believe, if we could educate the youngsters through mass awareness campaigns, and involve them into street play, maybe it would be of some help. It is very sad to see the youth wasting their potential like this. Q. The power situation in Punjab is growing worse day by day. What is your take on it? A. Ghabrao na bacheo, lection aaun deo, sab theek hojuga. The irony is that electrical and political power, both seem to go hand in hand for us. Q. What would you like to say about the political scenario of today? But before that, who is your favorite politician? A. The politics of today is somewhat that of a balanced leadership, there are as many good leaders as there are bad. I hope that changes for the better. Q. What would you like to say about social networking that is getting so popular these days? A. Its a good thing as far as connecting to other people is concerned but it is bad how this is becoming the only means of communication. It is funny how parents and children are friends in the first place but then kids end up blocking them for some personal information. It brings out an avoidable negativity of sorts, when parents feel kids are trusting strangers more than them. Q. What is your take on never ending price-rise woes? A. I feel it is getting really hard for common man to even afford a meal, and what to think of luxuries?

The

King

of

Satire!
15

Last time when the vegetable prices started soaring, we took this issue up through one of our street plays. Wed put up a show wherein for our costumes all of us had necklace made out of vegetable and such stuff. Without doubt, price rise is taking a toll and the most affected is the middle income group. Q. What is your opinion on the increasing number of reality shows involving young children? A.I personally do not find these shows to be a very good concept. Children need to grow as normal kids for a few years before they decide what they want to do. Most of these shows end up being parents passion instead. Little do they realize that their ambitions are actually hampering the childs overall development. Q. What do you feel about the platforms that are being made available to stand-up comedians these days? A. I believe it is because of these shows that comedy and comedians are being respected because of such shows. They have brought a national recognition for many comedians like Bhagwant mMann, Khayali, Raju Srivastava and so on. Its a great trend that finally caught up with Indian audiences. Q. Would you like to share some fond memories of yours? A . We were shooting in Delhi for a movie once, for which we were required to dress up as inspectors. It was about 11 pm when we thought of having coffee at a roadside place but there was a recently implemented rule that it had to be shut down by 11. We still decided to try asking for coffee at the shop. The owner mistaking us for actual cops opened his shop and tried obliging. We were pretty fine with it but the very next minute we saw real police inspectors walking towards us. We were obviously scared but to our surprise what came next were huge salutes from all of them. Thats when we realized that we had three stars as opposed to two on them. All we know is we just fled from the spot after that. It happened sometimes after that too, but this one is my personal favorite. Q. What is your take on laughter as best medicine? A. I believe when someone is happy, he Is healthy. Laughter is just a means to attaining the desired good health and is a very good medicine for sure. Kade kade bohota hasna vi change nai hunda, psychiatry wale shaq karan lag painde ne. In 2012, Mr. Jaspal Bhatti left us in grief with his demise but he made world a happier place. In comedy he will always be remembered as the first torch bearer in times when Punjab was struggling with terrorism and police curfews. Jaspal Bhatti is an ideology that is based on spreading smiles through laughter.

The

Hypocrisy of Humanity

At first glance the two might seem to be worlds apart but a closer look will reveal how they have existed one within the other since the start of our existence. If you look up the word humane in any thesaurus you will find words like kindness, mercy, sympathy written there, however if you look through the documented history of our species you will see a totally different story. For example there has not been a single decade in the last century where we have not fought bloody wars with one another. Lets start with our perception of ourselves, over the years biologists have named enumerable organisms from bacterium to the gigantic elephant, but our scientific name is Homo sapiens literally translated to `wise human`, again I refer to history to prove otherwise, our behavior with each other let alone with nature has been anything but wise or kind ,at the first chance we have tried to rule over each other in a more or less tyrannical fashion (by this I refer to slavery both ancient and recent as well as colonization and racism)and have time and again shown an ineptitude to rise above petty differences and truly make `wise` decisions. After all the creator of terms like murder, torture, mass genocide, human sacrifice cant exactly be termed wise now can they (food for thought, all these activities mentioned are done by humans not by animals, the creatures we are superior to)!

In the title humanity not only refers to the virtue but also the mindset of people as a whole, and also the institutions created by us, of all of these institutions none is as stained by hypocrisy as religion .Examples of this are too many to count and are present in all religions but I wish not to hurt any sentiments hence I shall name no names, but for arguments sake: lets say there is a religion which says that man is made in the image of god (god obviously being a perfect entity an embodiment of all that is right), further the religion states a set of sins the man must not commit (the inability to do so results in eternal damnation in the afterlife, generally this is a really strong motivation) but in another part of their holy text the show god possessing the one of those very sins. In the above case wouldnt the religion be guilty of hypocrisy for preaching the impossible and contradicting itself. For those of you wondering if their religion has any similar inherent flaw, I assure you It does, doesnt matter which religion it is, this fact is common to all. Also if you add all the lives lost in religious wars (crusades, thirty year war, African Americans killed by KKK, Jews killed by the Nazis etc) you may very well reach a figure exceeding that of World War II itself. Another instance of institutional hypocrisy is the society in which we all live. By soci17

ety I refer not only to the people around us but also to our collective psyche, the various morals and values instilled in us from the time that we are children and it is these values that are often flawed; two small examples are the thought that all men are born equal and the idea that the value of each life is same. Not to sound pessimistic but any person with even a bit of basic logic can agree that in the real world men are not born equal but are born into the strata of their families .There are cases where people are able to break these rules but in general the aforementioned is valid. As far as value of lives goes, well not to be insensitive but the value of Osama bin laden`s life was worth a lot more than that of people who died in the various terrorist attacks carried out at his behest. To put it another way , the death of the U.S President would be breaking news but the death of people by starvation in an African country is merely reduced to a number.

I would like to finish with something that has been in the news recently, the whole anti corruption campaign; though the idea is truly noble but s those who are part of the campaign or are sympathetic towards the cause, dont seem to see a rather large problem. Ignoring all the contradictory and sometimes outright foolish statements by some leaders of the movement, their own egos, allegiances and infighting and even the monolithic Jan Lokapl structure ( giving details of which is another article in itself!), people fail to see that corruption exists (at least at grass roots) due to bribe givers and not bribe takers .It is the amm admi which is corrupt , no system no matter how strict will prevent that. If you too are supporter, I implore you to ask yourself; would you really stand in line at a government office for hours together when by paying a small token amount of money you can get the same work done in minutes?

If you arent a hypocrite then they know what the correct answer is. Kanwar Abhay Singh Biotech 2nd Year

Is GOD really to be found?

With the discovery of Higgs boson or the so called God Particle every scientist danced with gusto, and yes why not; after all it was a prodigal achievement that certainly took a great hunk of the clock. The news soon became rife that "God has been found" and now the existence of the universe will unfold. But the question is if there is a need to find God?? Isn't it perfectly all right saying that we found a small particle which paved the way for the whole universe, and parallely something or someone supernatural existed and still exists, who put everything in order...Why I say this is because if everything happened as a matter of "Higgs Boson, how can we have such a well lined up universe. Why don't we have mountains floating on rivers, or something so farce akin to this? Surely, something unnatural or cynical must exist. On the other side of the coin, if God is found, the fear of committing sins will van-

ish from the heads and stealthily the universe will meet its doom...The ethics and values will soon stifle and everyone will tame the trust of others. The famous Bhagwad Gita shlok "Whenever the pot of sin overflows, something happens to restore order" will douse and the world will soon become a place where rebuff, distrust and faltering values will proliferate. Everything will simply come to a halt. These are my views, I am not in dissent with NASA, but I think it is perfectly all right if we believe that "God particle" laid the foundation of the universe but alongside God existed who put everything in order, still exists and will exist forever..

Car-Nama!
There was a time when a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry was considered a luxury car in India, where small, cheap cars predominate, where the worlds cheapest car, the Nano made its debut and the best-selling model is Alto. Time have changed and so have the mean machines...People are jumping segments from a Toyota Camry directly to a BMW 3 Series or a Mercedes for that matter. For years, Daimler AGs Mercedes Benz was the only established luxury carmaker in India and sightings of sports cars on the roads were rare and the ones which were there, were looked upon with a feeling of reverence and admiration. It was hard for a luxury car to go unnoticed. With the economic boom in India, luxury automakers are rushing to the Indian subcontinent, which looks more promising than a majority of the developed countries. In 2006, the Indian luxury car market had total sales of only 3,050 cars. Audi and BMW came in 2006. The market has not looked back ever since. Newer entrants like the U.K.s Jaguar Land Rover are also registering healthy sales. The ultra-premium segment Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari, Masserati, Bentley and Rolls Royce has also opened shop in India. The success of the luxury cars in the Indian car market can be gauged by the fact that a BMW, Audi or Mercedes is such a common sight on the roads, be it Delhi or Chandigarh, so much so that they arent a big head-turner these days. But a Porche or a Lamborgini with their roaring engines still grab every ones attention...making someone quip that even if people dont see you, they hear you. No senior Indian executive feels complete without his sleek German-made saloon, while Italian sports cars are the new calling cards for the countrys rich young things. Leave alone adults even kids are flaunting their attitude loud and clear. They would brag about the latest cars available in the market with such precision that many sports car aficionados will be left shaking their heads in disbelief. This certainly says a lot about the changing lifestyle of the well travelled and status conscious Indian who believes in turning fantasies into reality. To sum up, I would like to share this piece which I read somewhere, One has to go back a while to recall a time when cars were simply means of transportation. In those days, they were just considered automobiles. Today, cars are extensions of their owners. They make statements about the character and the status of the owners. They are loved, polished and pampered by some owners. They elicit a wide range of emotions, ranging from exasperation when they dont work to pure delight when they are expensive, beautiful and drive like a dream. They cause people to stare and drool and say Some day. For better or for worse, our lives are structured around these machines.

heaven& hell
I often hear about hell and heaven They say bad people go to hell Whereas good ones receive heaven I one day asked God what is the Difference between heaven and hell He said, Not much difference is there But I was surprised and I said, They say good people receive rewards Whereas bad ones get punished So why there is not much Difference in the hell and heaven He replied, Good and bad both are equal For me; all are my children and I love all Then I said what is there in hell and heaven He explained that in both places There are huge bowls of food in the centre and the Hands of people in both places are of wooden planks The people in hell when try to eat the food It slides through the plank and they are Not able to eat and they starve and cry Whereas the people in heaven with same condition Are happy as with there hands they feed There other friends and think for others first They are happy in others happiness On listening this I had tears in my eyes Today the people have only hatred in their minds They have no love for the mankind Still God loves us all and never discriminates There is difference in attitude of the people Their acts are selfish or selfless decides their Place in hell or heaven, so its our choice and acts Which will make us happy in adversities also !

Upon the swords of brave men Bleeds the desire to win when all the odds seem against you And no path offers securiity when heart is unable to find a way Caught in a sudden obscurity when dreams of glory shatter to a thousand pieces when faith in god is questioned Along with all his thesis when fear is not the only thing that burns you deep inside when scars of past hurt again And death is still denied then fight with all you are left with to rise again from the fall If destiny closed the doors for you then break through all the walls Upon the swords of brave men Bleeds the desire to win for even the brave was once a coward who just lit the fire within...
