What everyone needs to know about SCM Once you read "What everyone needs to know about SCM", we can see the importance of knowing exactly what is the Supply Chain Management, although we are not experts in it. Why? Because we live in a globalized world in which we venture to the environment and build competitive advantage, it is necessary to establish new and better ideas, enabling the complete satisfaction of customer expectations. At the reading, one of the most important things mentioned to me, was the definition given for Supply Chain Management that involves proactively managing the two-way movement and coordination of goods, services, information, and funds from raw material through end user. Something that is important and we need to consider in order to pinpoint the perfect management of the supply chain is the development of the four pillars of excellence, which as we saw in the reading are: capable human resources, that in my point view is one of the most important things in the company, since apart from managing the relationships, they also does with the risks and commitments, the second pillar is an appropriate organizational design, which selects the structure and formal system of organization, coordination, control, among others; the third pillar is share information technology and real-time systems and finally measurement and proper measurements, the last being the most important for me, since they allow to make decisions based on facts and not assumptions. Finally we must remember that a well-defined, well-communicated process provides everybody with a standardized workflow and eliminates the need to reinvent procedures every time the company develops a product, fulfills an order, or evaluates a supplier, and that to create value is directly related to the customer, which is not possible without a good logistics system and optimal production
