MBSS is an integrated one-stop solution provider of sea logistic and transportation for bulk materials. With experienced management of more than 19 years in the business, the company delivers high speed and accuracy services supported by the in-depth knowledge of geological & sociocultural aspects.

Moreover with its state of the art technology, it applies international operating standards and industry best practice to ensure efficient and reliable services to its valued customers. MBSS services range from material handling to transportation of the bulk materials using its barging fleets from loading port to unloading port, as well as from loading port to anchorage point where the coal is to be transhipped to the mother vessel using MBSS floating crane.

Our Profile
MBSS is a fully integrated sea logistic and transshipment services company for the mining industry providing one-stop solution from material handling to transportation of the bulk materials using its barging fleets, from loading port to unloading port as well as from loading port to anchorage point for the coal transshipment to the mother vessel by using MBSS floating crane. In the early 1990s, from its humble beginnings as a transporter of bulk materials, particularly coal, MBSS has consistently and strategically added to its facilities, fleet, and overall services to achieve seamlessly efficient and effective sea logistic and transshipment to become an industry leader with impeccable expertise capable of consistently meeting clients most demanding requirements.

MBSS, which became a public company and a member of the Indika Energy group in 2011, has sailed well beyond its initial barging services in 1994 to currently provide a comprehensive range of services from material handling to transportation of the bulk materials by using our barging fleets from loading port to unloading port as well as from loading port to anchorage point where the coal to be transshipped to the mother vessel using MBSS floating crane.

Our Fleets

Tug and Barges

MBSS runs well managed most of young, carefully maintained fleets of tug boats, barges and floating cranes, along with a cement transport and Support Vessel to provide efficient, dependable bulk material logistic.

MBSS provides services for the sea based transportation (barging) of bulk mining materials, coal in particular, from loading port to unloading port and from loading port to anchorage point, with the use of barges, which are pulled from place to place by motorized tug boats. At the end of 2012, MBSS was operating 74 barges measuring from 250 to365 feet each with the support of 80 tug boats; up from 66 barges and 67 tug boats in operation in 2011.

Our Fleets

Floating Cranes

MBSS has a fleet of 7 Floating Cranes consisting of single and double cranes, and a double crane with a conveyor belt system, which unload bulk materials from barges and transfer them to anchored mother vessels for transshipment. Throughout 2012, the floating cranes in operation with rapid dispatching capability included 3 high capacity cranes: FC Princess Chloe, FC Blitz, and FC Vittoria.

Our Services
MBSSs business performance is primarily supported by its bulk mining material transportation services undertaken with barges and floating cranes. In order to steadily improve its competitive edge, the Company has consistently developed and innovated its business to provide integrated logistics services geared toward facilitating its clients business activities, which enables clients to focus on their core business competences toward maximizing efficiency and profitability. To ensure its business sustainability, MBSS upholds HSE and CSR as significant elements in the Company policy and management strategy. As the manifestation of the Company responsibility to its employees and community, MBSS consistently implement HSE and CSR for the benefit of all stakeholders.

In regards to the Company concern toward environment, and as the Company engaged in mining transportation and logistic, MBSS strive to prevent and minimize risks from its operations activity, which may impacted the environment, such as pollution on the ocean ecology due to oil spills or leaks. Through its CSR programs, the Company has enhanced relations with local communities and gained a reliable local workforce, while garnering strong local support for the safe and secure operations of the Company, particularly in Kalimantan, where most of the companys work sites are located.

MBSS consistently ensure safety for its employees and cargo during logistic activity, processing, transportation, and delivery referring to internal, national as well as international standard. This includes domestic regulations, ISM Code International Safety System Standards, ISO 9001 General Management System Standards, and other legal regulations.

MBSS ensures that its presence at all of its operational sites gives rise to cooperative partnership relationships with local communities toward achieving community development that goes beyond the construction of physical infrastructure to enhance local education and health services, as well as to cultivate positive social environment conditions, and overall improvement of welfare.
