Read through the below guide to find out all about the new Australian Visa process through the EOI (Expression of Interest) and Skill-Select How the SkillSelect Program Works? The Australian Government launched a new program titled "SkillSelect" and replaced the existing Australian GSM Migration with SkillSelect program. SkillSelect program is only available as an online service that helps skilled workers and investors interested in migrating to Australia to register their details and be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI) even before applying for a visa. Before filing EOI, prospective applicants need to obtain a positive skill assessment and pass the IELTS exam (which is an English language assessment test). Post filing an EOI, applicants may be invited to apply for a visa depending on the points they obtain and various other factors. The SkillSelect Program is essentially a two step process: All applicants will first have to submit an EOI with claims for their skilled migration Post reviewing the EOI, the DIAC may invite the applicants to apply and prove they fulfill all the criteria, which has been mentioned in the EOI There are various options that you can consider ensuring that you receive an invitation from DIAC. Applying for a nomination by Australian employers is one of the best options. The other option that applicants can choose is to apply for State Sponsorship where the state occupations lists contain additional occupations than available on the Skilled Occupations List, and there are genuine opportunities for a wide range of occupations. Decision Making Process There are many options that applicants need to consider before filing an EOI with DIAC. While filing an EOI, you have lots of questions that need answers, here are few of the questions that may likely surface: a) Is your nominated occupation on the Skilled or Consolidated Skilled Occupations List? b) Would your skills & qualifications be recognized by the relevant assessing authority? c) Do you have the potential to obtain the necessary points? d) Will you have to appear for an IELTS test? e) Do you have relevant & recent work experience in your nominated occupation? f ) Can you provide verifiable proof of your job or business history? g) Which state or territory do you want to reside? h) Can you meet nomination criteria for each state & territory? i) Is your nominated occupation on the state or territory government skills list? j) Will you need to pass any health & character issues that could lead to denial of the application
We at MoreVisas know that you may have many such questions, when it comes to Australian migration. We have been as detailed as possible in the below guide to answer all your queries and questions.
