The Alcatel-Lucent 7356 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) Fiber-to-the-Building (FTTB) Remote Expansion Module (REM) is a compact 19-inch full-service IP access node for remote deployments, designed for the easy and cost-effective deployment of high-quality HSI, Voice, and IPTV services using VDSL2. It offers 3 slots for a combination of ISAM line cards, splitters, and voice termination cards, and uses the same software and management. This ensures subscribers get the same service level from central ofce, cabinet, and MDU deployments. The Alcatel-Lucent 7356 ISAM FTTB REM is hosted by an Alcatel-Lucent 7330 ISAM FTTN (12x REMs) or an Alcatel-Lucent 7330 ISAM Remote Aggregator (24x REMs), and essentially serves as a remote line card of the hosting system. This reduces the number of nodes in remote deployments, thus signicantly reducing CAPEX and OPEX.
Features
Shelf-based remote with 3 slots for line card, splitter, and voice Managed as a remote line card of the hosting system ISAM line cards, software and management VDSL conguration: 48 ports with 8/12/17 proles and backwards ADSL(2+) compatibility 19 width, 300 mm deep Temperature hardened and actively cooled with eld-swappable fans Extendable to 96p VDSL2 and other LT-cards (e.g. SHDSL) in future releases
Benets
Flexible remote multi-service deployments Full DSL feature and service intelligence parity with the ISAM family Lower aggregation CAPEX Cheaper and faster operations Faster roll-out of new services Same service from any line, any ISAM Smooth migration of existing ADSL subscribers High density and small footprint, optimized for remote deployments
