Reading Response Prompts for Chapters


For each set of chapters, you will address the following prompt on our class blog at http://tsnell.edublogs.org/. All entries should use complete sentences, proper mechanics of writing, and contain at least 5 sentences.
Chapters 1-3: After the knight comes alive in Williams hand, he has a lot of questions he would like to ask. What do you think those questions are? What questions would you have? Chapters 4-5: Explain how Alastor came to be ruler of the kingdom Sir Simon was in. Chapters 6 -7: There are really 2 problems in the story: Williams and Sir Simons. Explain each of their problems. Be specific. Chapters 8-9:Why is Mrs. Phillips not well? Why does William decide to be shrunk and enter the castle? Chapters 10-11: How did Sir Simon and William get to the kingdom? Why didnt Mrs. Phillips go with them? Chapters 12-13: At this point in the story, we have a lot of information. Going back to the beginning, identify the beginning setting and the new setting. How does each setting affect the characters? Chapters 14-15: Identify 5 main events that have occurred from the beginning of the book to this point in the story. Chapters 16-17: Refer back to your entry for Chapters 6-7. Explain how each person was able to find a solution to his problem.
