PROJECT REVIEW
I can't recall since when did I join Shuang Fu organization, the only thing that I remember is participating a volunteer workshop - "The Blue Sky Beyond The Window" and first came into contact with the handicapped. It was not for any special reason that I took part in this workshop, I think it was simply just fate. I heard from a friend I knew from ICQ that he was going to participate his handicapped friend's volunteer workshop back then. Out of curiosity, I registered myself for the activity. The workshop has led me to a further understanding of the handicapped. Although my chat buddy does not do volunteer work anymore, he still takes care of the handicapped friend he knew that year. What more is that this handicapped friend is now a very good friend and working partner of mine. Isn't fate wonderful? I have known a lot of handicapped friends and volunteer friends through Shuang Fu. I am so happy and grateful for that. Furthermore, I learnt a lot from my handicapped friends, especially their spirits. They are disabled, but have never wanted to give up. For that, I always remind myself to never give up easily. I don't think the handicapped need a lot of helps of the others, but we are ought to help one another. I will do my best to help if I am capable to do so. Sometimes, they are the one who offer me a helping hand. Volunteer work does not demand anything in return. It's a work that needs us to sacrifice our time and energy to make the people around us as well as ourselves happy. In the future, I will contribute more to do volunteer work if I have more time and energy. By Pei Heng.

A volunteer does not necessarily have the time, but the most important thing is to have a piece of caring heart. I have indeed had a wonderful experience in getting to know, getting along, and growing together with the members of Stay In Love and Shuang Fu Disabled Independent Living Association. I admit that in the beginning stage of encountering Shuang Fu, I worried that I might hurt them in words or in various aspects. I actually felt pity on them and could not understand the way of their living. Therefore, in order to know them better, I joined the volunteer group Stay In Love. I started to mix around with Shuang Fu and started to take part in some of their events. After participating in a few events, I felt that it is really meaningful that I can give a little helping hand to those in need. I also realized that even though they are disabled, they are well equipped with skills through vocational training, which develops and enhances their potentials. I would also like to express my gratitude to Xiao Wei for introducing and guiding me into Shuang Fu. Besides that, Im so grateful that Stay In Love volunteer group is growing fast along with all the warmhearted members. Even though volunteers are not paid for what they have doneits not because they are worthless; but because they are priceless. By Cheong Li Wen
