201409 Dated 26 January 2014 TO: Loyola Schools Student Body FROM: Ateneo Commission on Elections RE: Electronic Ballot and Partial Tally Difficulty Greetings! Today, the Commission was informed of a problem with the electronic ballot. The program allowed graduating seniors to vote for Central Board Representatives, Executive Officers, and Course Representatives. However, based on the 2005 Sanggunian Constitution, graduating seniors may only vote for the following positions: President, Vice President, Secretary General, Finance Officer, Chairperson, and Secretary-Treasurer. These positions are to be voted for by the student body at large while the other positions represent specific years and/or courses which the graduating seniors are not a part of. The Commission has acted upon the said mistake. Changes in the program will be implemented starting tomorrow, February 14, 2014. The votes of the graduating seniors casted since the start of elections last Wednesday, February 12, will be counted only for the positions that they are allowed to vote for. Only the votes for positions they were not supposed to vote for will be nullified (i.e. if a graduating senior voted for a president and a CB rep, the former will be counted while the latter will not). This will be based on the list of individual votes. In line with this, The Commission will not release a partial and unofficial tally of votes for today due to system downtime and to make sure that everything has been double checked and accounted for. The first partial and unofficial tally will be released tomorrow, 14 February 2014, when the system is expected to be glitch-free.
