and reward li9e the Ambiyaa ;-pecial mercies will descend upon him, and death is the only barrier from his entrance into Qannat; 2n dying he will enter Qanaat:; .lessing in the food $(); 4adhrat Ayesha (+;A;) narrates that one person came to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and said that there was absolutely no :.ara9at: (blessings) in the things at home; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) replied, :Why are you neglectful of Ayatul Cursi;: Whenever Aayatul Cursi is recited upon food, Allaah 1a8aala will increase the .ara9at in that food or curry; $H); 4adhrat Ibn Masood (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that Allaah the ?ofty did not create any thing in the s9ies or on earth, in Qannat or Qahannam, loftier than Ayatul Cursi; $B); 4adhrat Ibn Masood (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that no space in the s9y, or on the earth is loftier than Ayatul Cursi; 1o ma9e -atan flee for protection of wealth, property and home $I); 4adhrat Masood (+;A;) states that a person left his home and met a Qinn on the way; 1he Ainn as9ed him, :6an you drop me downR, If you do so then I will teach you such an Ayat that if you recite it upon entering your home, -atan will not enter;: 1hey wrestled and the person dropped the Qinn down; 1he Ainn said&:+ead Ayatul Cursi, because that person who recites it upon entering the home, -haitaan flees li9e a don9ey ma9ing a sound from its posterior runs away; A person mentioned to 4adhrat Ibn Masood that the person (who dropped the Qinn) could only be 4adhrat 3mar (+adiahallahu Anhu); 4adhrat Abu 4urairah (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates this (above) 4adith from +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam), with the addition that there is an Ayat in -urah .a=ara, which is the chief ayat of the Qur8aan; Whosoever recites it in a house wherein -haitaan is, he (-haitaan) will leave; $D); 4adhrat Ibne Masood (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that a person re=uested +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) to teach him something that will 41 | P a g e

benefit him; :,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said,:+ead Ayatul Cursi, it will protect you, your children, home and even those houses surrounding your house;: $%); 4adhrat Ibn 3mar (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates that once 4adhrat 3mar (+adiahallahu Anhu) came to the people and said, :Who amongst you can tell me which is the most lofty Ayat in the Qur8aan, which Ayat directs one most towards Austice and fairness, which Ayat creates the most fear and which Ayat creates hope for mercyR: All remained silent; :4adhrat Ibn Masood (+adiahallahu Anhu) said,:I heard +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) say from the Mimbar (pulpit) that Aayatul Cursi is the ?oftiest in the Qur8aan, and the Ayat which encourages Austice and fairness is ( Arabic <$() and the Ayat that creates the most fear is ( Arabic <$() of the Ayat that creates the most hope of mercy is ( Arabic <$(); $'); 4adhrat Ibn Abbas (+adiahallahu Anhu) said that when +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) recited the last Ayat of -urah .a=arah and Ayatul Cursi then he laughed and said,: 1hese have come from the treasures of Allaah;: and when he read (May Pa8mal -oo), then he said (Inna li llaah;;;) and chose humility and mee9ness; $M); (J); It is reported that when ever 4adhrat Abdur +ahman .in Auf (+;A;) 4adhrat 4assan (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates from +asulallaah entered his home, he used to recite Ayatul Cursi in its corners; (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who said , : Qibraeel came to me and informed me that a rebellious Qinn is plotting against you, so when you retire to your bed, then recite Ayatul Cursi; : ($); ((); 4adhrat Ali (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that the chief of the Ayats of the 4adhrat Ali (+adiahallahu Anhu) says :I have heard +asulallaah Qur8aan Careem is Ayatul Cursi; (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) say that person who recites Ayatul Cursi after every -alaat, only death prevents him from Qannat and who recites it whilst retiring to his sleeping place, Allaah will protect his house, his neighbours and even his surroundings; 42 | P a g e

person who is a born Muslim, or intelligent or one who accepted Islaam in a rational (Arabic) state spending the night without reciting Ayatul Cursi; If you 9now how lofty this is (you will never discard it), it has been given to your ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) from under the treasures of the arsh; It has not been given to any ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) before your ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and I have never spent a night without reciting this Ayat thrice; I recite it in the last ( +a9aats of Witr after /sha and also when I retire to my sleeping place (B); 4adhrat Auf bin Maali9 (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that 4adhrat Abu Zar (+adiahallahu Anhu) who was sitting near +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) as9ed& :2h +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) which is the most lofty Ayat Allaah revealed to youR: Allaah8s +asul recited Ayatul Cursi; 4adhrat Ma8aa> bin Qabal (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that he stored the dates for charity of ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) in a room for safe 9eeping; I sensed that there was a shortage daily therein; I complained to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) about this; 4e said that this was the wor9 of -atan and I must stay alert for him; 1hus I sat in the barn that night; When some part of the night passed, -haitaan came in the shape of an elephant; When he came near the door, he changed his shape and entered through one of the holes of the door, moved towards the dates and began eating; I dragged my cloth near him and said& :I testify that there is no one worthy of worship but Allaah and that Muhammad is his -ervant and +asul; 2h Allaah8s enemy you are usurping the dates of charity whereas the poor are more deserving of this than you; I will definitely apprehend you and ta9e you to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who will humiliate you;: At this -haitaan pledged that he will not do this act again; In the morning I came to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who as9ed me about my prisoner; I stated that he had vowed not to steal again; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said that he (-atan) will come again so be alert; 1he neOt night also I sat alert; 1he same thing occurred and once again he 43 | P a g e

(-atan) pledged not to steal; I left him; In the morning, I narrated the whole event to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who said that he (-atan) will come again; 2n the third night the same thing happened once again; I apprehended him and this time I said,:2h Allaah8s enemy, you have pledged twice and this is the third time (now I will not leave you); 4e (-atan) said,: I have children and have come from ,asabeen ( a place between Masool and -yria); If I receive anything less in status than this (dates), then I would not have come here; We left this city of yours when your ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) was sent together with two Ayats which removed us from here to ,asabeen; -haitaan does not enter any home when these two Ayats have been recited in it:; 4e said this thrice; :If you leave me, I will show you these two Ayats:; I agreed; 4e said,: Ayatul Cursi and the last Ayat of -urah .a=arah (Amanas +asul;;;;);:1hus I let him go; In the morning I came to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and told him what had transpired; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said, :1hat rascal has spo9en the truth even though he is a liar;: (I); (D); 4adhrat Ma8aa> (+adiahallahu Anhu) says after that he used to recite this 4adhrat Abu Asaad -aeedee (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates that he and blow on the dates and there were no shortages in the room; pluc9ed the fruits from his orchard and 9ept them in a room; Qinnaat used used to come to this room and steal the fruit; 1his put them in difficulty and they complained to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) about it; 4e said,:1his is (the wor9 of) a Qinn; 2h Abu Asaad, listen attentively, when he (the Qinn) has entered, then say; :I ta9e the name of Allaah: and say :accept +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) sayings:; 1he Qinn said, :2h Abu Asaad, do not ta9e me to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam); I vow by Allaah that I will not set foot in your home, nor steal your fruit; Also I will show you such an Ayat that if you recite it on your house then you will thin9 I have died; If you read it on your utensils then no one will be able open its lid;: I promised to leave him; 4e became happy and said; : 1he Ayat, is Ayatul Cursi; 1his -ahabi came to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and related the entire event to him, upon

which ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said& : 4e (Qinn) spo9e the truth although he is (normally)a liar;: (%); 4adhrat Abu Amama -adi bin IAlaan (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said,: Whosoever recites Ayatul Cursi after every fard -alaat, the only thing preventing his entry into Qanaat is death; 1op Ism A>am is in Ayatul Cursi ('); 4adhrat Abu Amama (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) stated, that the Isme A>am (blessed ,ame of Allaah Qalle Qalaalahu) , through which the invo9er8s desire is definitely fulfilled appears in H -urahs of the Qur8aan; -urah .a=arah, Al"Imraan and 1a 4aa; 4adhrat Abu Amama (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that he searched for it and found it in Ayatul Cursi of -urah .a=arah, and :?a illaha illah 4uwal haya ;;;;;: in Al"Imraan and :Wa Anatil wuAuhu;;;;;: in -urah 1a 4aa; (M); 4adhrat Ibn Abbas (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) was staying in a room at 4adhrat Abu Ayoob (+adiahallahu Anhu); 0ood provisions were 9ept in a small bas9et; A cat used to enter from the air vent and ta9e the food away; 4adhrat Abu Ayoob (+adiahallahu Anhu) complained to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who said that it was a Qinn; 1hus when he comes, tell him that ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said that he should not come bac9; 1he Qinn said, :2h, Abu Ayoob leave me this time, by Allaah I will definitely never return; 1hus Abu Ayoob left him and came to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and narrated the event; 1his event occurred twice; 2n the third occasion the Qinn said, :-hall I reveal to you such words, which when recited at night will prevent -haitaan from coming near your house that night and day and the neOt day; Abu Ayoob said, :-ure:; 1he Qinn said,:+ecite Ayatul Cursi:; 1his -ahabi came and related this event to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam), who said that he (the Qinn), has spo9en the truth although he is (normally) a liar; HJ); 4adhrat Abu Ayoob (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates that he was in the front room of his home; Qinnaat used to ta9e goods from there; 4e complained 45 | P a g e

about this to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who said&:When you see him then ta9e the name of Allaah and tell him to accept the call of +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam); When the Qinn came, Abu Ayoob (+adiahallahu Anhu) told him this, and the Qinn pledged not to come again; Abu Ayoob left him; Abu Ayoob came to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who as9ed him how was his thief; Abu Ayoob replied, :I caught him but left him after he pledged that he will not return:; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) stated that he (the Qinn) will definitely return; Abu Ayoob apprehended the Qinn twice or thrice and each time he released him on the pledge of not returning; Abu Ayoob came to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who as9ed him about his prisoner; Abu Ayoob replied,: I caught him but released him on the pledge that he will not return; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) stated that he(the Qinn) will surely return; Abu Ayoob thereafter apprehended the Qinn who said ,:If you leave me, I will show such a thing, that when read, the -haitaan will not come near you; 1hat is Ayatul Cursi:; Abu Ayoob narrated this entire event to ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) who said,:1he Qinn has spo9en the truth although he is (normally) a great liar; In the tradition of 1abrani it is stated :My dates were 9ept in a room;:; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said,:1omorrow you will find a cat therein then it will become a wolf;: At the end of the tradition it is stated, :-atan said that whenever he hears it ( Ayatul Cursi) he will runaway; 5ia another chain of narrations it is stated in 1abrani; :I should have difficulty in my bac9,: and at the end of the tradition it is recorded :no Qinn or thief will come near:; H$); 4adhrat Abu Zar (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that he as9ed +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) which was the most (Arabic) (lofty, respectable) Ayat revealed to youR ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) replied, :Ayatul Cursi:; Aid at the time difficulty and Angels -tipulated it for <rotection H(); 4adhrat Abu Qatada (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates that ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said;:Whoever reads Ayatul Cursi and the last Ayat of -urah .a=arah when in difficulty, then Allaah listens to that plea;:

4adhrat Qatadah (+adiahallahu Anhu) says,:Whoever recites Ayatul Cursi on his sleeping bed, Allaah 1a8aala nominates ( angels to protect him until morning; A grateful heart, a remembering tongue, the reward of a martyr and the reward of a -iddi=ue HH); 4adhrat Abu Musa Al Ashari (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrates that ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said that Allaah 1a8aala sent :Wahy:"(divine revelation) to 4adhrat Musa bin Imraan (+adiahallahu Anhu) to read Ayatul Cursi after every 0ard -alaat and that whosoever recites Ayatul Cursi every 0ard -alaat, will be granted the heart of the grateful, the tongue of those who remember, the rewards li9e the Ambiyaa and his actions will become li9e those of the -iddi=ues and on this practise the ,abi or -iddi=ue is regular whose heart I have tested for Imaan and who has been chosen to be martyred in My Way; HB); 4adhrat Abu Amama (+adiahallahu Anhu) says he as9ed +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam),:Which is the most respectable, lofty Ayat, which has descended upon you:; 4e said, :Ayatul Cursi:; HI) /asy child"birth&" 4adhrat 0atima Zahra (+adiahallahu Anha) narrates,:When the time approached for her delivery, then ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) ordered 4adhrat 3mme -alama (+adiahallahu Anha) and 4adhrat Zainab (+adiahallahu Anha) to go to 0atima and recite Ayatul Cursi and :Inna +abba Cumullaah: (the whole Ayat) and the last two Quls and blow on her;

cannot understand how a person, who is a Muslim, and owner of reason (intellect) can spend the night without reading Ayatul Cursi; If you 9new the benefits of it, then you will never discard it under any condition:; +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) stated ,:I have been given Aayatul Cursi from the treasures under the Arsh of Allaah and it was not given to anyone before me:; 47 | P a g e

4adhrat Ali (+adiahallahu Anhu) says, :0rom the time I have heard this, I have never passed a night without reading it:; H%); 4adhrat Abu 4uraira (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) made me the guardian of the Za9aat of +amadaan; 2ne thief began to steal from it; I caught him and told him that I am definitely going to ta9e him to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam); 4e said,:?eave me, I am destitute and have a family:; I (Abu 4uraira) left him; In the morning +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) as9ed , :What did your prisoner do last night;R: I (Abu 4uraira) said, 4e spo9e of his great need and family for which I felt pity on him and left him;: ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said,:4e has spo9en a lie and will definitely come again;: I (Abu harraira) understood that the (the thief) will definitely come again because ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said so; 1hus I 9ept watch at that same barn; 4e (the thief) came and began stealing in handfuls; I caught him and threatened to ta9e him to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam); 1he thief pleaded with me to leave him as he was needy and had a family and that he will not repeat this; I (Abu 4uraiah) felt pity and left him; In the morning +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) as9ed him the same =uestion as before and his answer was the same; When the same thing happened for the third time, Abu 4urairah said to the thief,:1his is the third time; /ach time you say that you will not steal again and each time you steal again;: 1he thief said,:?eave me, and I will teach you such words through which Allaah will benefit you;:; I (Abu 4uraira) in=uired about those words and the thief said,:When you go to your sleeping place, then recite Ayatul Cursi completely; Allaah will stipulate a guardian for you and -haitaan will not come near you until the morning; I released him; In the morning +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) as9ed,:What did your thief do last nightR: Abu 4urairah narrated what had transpired; 1he -ahabah were most enthusiastic to gain virtues; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said,:4e has spo9en the truth although he is a liar; 2h Abu 4uraira, do you 9now with whom you were tal9ing to for the past three nights;: I said :,o:; ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) said that it was -atan; 48 | P a g e

It is mentioned in Citaabul 7alaalil from 4adhrat .uraidah (+adiahallahu Anhu) that he had wheat (crops); 4e said, :I sensed that there was a shortage in it; While sitting =uietly in the night I saw a female Qinn sitting on the crops ; I caught hold of her and said that I will not let her go until I had ta9en her to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam); -he said that she had a family and swore on oath that she will not do so again; I released her; I came to +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) and informed him about this; 4e said that she was a liar; When the same thing happened on the second night, she (the female Ainn) as9ed me to release her; -he said,:I will, in eOchange teach you such a duaa that from amongst us none will ever come near your crops; When you retire to your sleeping place then read and blow Ayatul Cursi on your goods; I left her; When I informed ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) about this he said that she had spo9en the truth although she was a liar; H'); 4adhrat Abu 4uraia (+adiahallahu Anhu) said that +asulallaah (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) stated that whosoever reads :4aa meem al Mu8minoon: upto :al maseer: and Ayatul Cursi in the morning, will be protected until the evening and whoever reads both of these in the night will be protected until the morning; HM); 4adhrat Ibne Abbass (+adiahallahu Anhu) narrated that the .ani Israeel as9ed Musa(A;-;), :7oes your +abb sleepR: Musa(A;-;) said, :0ear Allaah:; Allaah ordered,: 2h Musa, your nation has as9ed you whether your +abb sleepsR 1a9e two glasses in your hand and stand with it for the whole night;: 4adhrat Musa (A;-) did as he was ordered; When on third of the night passed, he fell on his 9nees but stood up immediately; 7uring the latter part of the night, sleep overcame him and the glasses fell and bro9e; Allaah Qala -hanahu said, :2h Musa, if I sleep then the s9y will fall on the earth and destroy it Aust as the two glasses fell from your hands and bro9e; : 1hen Allaah 1a8aala revealed unto ,abi (-allallahu alayhi wasallam) Ayatul Cursi; 1op 0ulfilling %J needs and the Ayat which gives Qannat;

and two Ayats of Al Imraan (-hahidallaahu Anahu la;;;;;; A>>i>ul 4a9eem) and (Qul Allahumma;;;bi Nhairi 4isaab) are lin9ed to the arch of Allaah and between them and Allaah there are no veils; 1hese Ayats said to Allaah :Pou are sending us unto earth and amongst those who become disobedient;: Allaah said,:.y my .eing, I say, that whoever of my servants reads you (addressing the Ayats) after every fard -alaat, I will ma9e his resting place Qannat, irrespective of what action he may be involved in and will ma9e him stay in :.lessed <eace: and view him with my hidden eye daily seventy times and fulfil seventy of his needs daily, amongst which the smallest is forgiveness and I will protect him from every enemy and assist him against the enemies:; 4adhrat Abu Amama (+adiahallahu Anhu) says that there are eight bearers of the arsh, who read in a welcoming melodious voice; 0our of them repeat the words& 2h Allaah Pou are pure, and all praise is for Pou, although All Cnowing, Pou are still affectionate and off"bearing; And four of them read& 2h Allaah Pou are <ure and all praises are for Pou; Although you have the <ower (and Might), you do not apprehend; -ome important benefits of the respected Ayat 1he respected Ayat comprises of many important benefits; -ome are mentioned hereunder& $; 1his is the most lofty Ayat of the Qur8aan Careem; (; 1hat is the chief Ayat of the Qur8aan Careem; H; 1he reader of it is protected from the evil effects of the Qinnat from morning until evening and from evening until morning; B; It is from the threshold of the arsh; I; It is e=ual to a =uarter of the Qur8aan Careem; D; Whoever recites it after the fard -alaat will be protected until the neOt -alaat and reciting it constantly was done by the ,abi, -iddi=ue or Martyr and only death is the barrier between the reader and Qannat; 50 | P a g e

%; .lowing it upon food and drin9 brings blessings and abundance; '; It is greater than the s9ies, earth, Qannat and Qahannam; M; Whosoever reads it upon entering the home, -atan runs away from there; $J; 1he reciter, his children, home, wealth, property and the homes of his neighbours are safe; $$; Whosoever reads it together with the last Ayats of -urah .a=arah, -haitaan does not enter his home for three days; $(; 1he Qinnaat cannot open any utensil upon which it is read; $H; In it is the Ism A>am; $B; 1he thief does not come near it8s reciter; $I; When recited with the last Ayat of -urah .a=arah then the plea of the reciter will not go unattended; $D; When reciting it whilst retiring to one8s sleeping place, one is protected until the morning; 1wo angels are deputed to protect him; $%; Whosoever recites it after every fard -alaat, will be rewarded with a grateful heart, a remembering tongue, the reward of being martyred in the path of Allaah, and will also be rewarded li9e the -iddi=ues; $'; Who reads it and :Inna +abba bi 9um Allaah;;: and the last two Quls for a women on delivery, then the delivery becomes easy; $M; When one reads it and blows on his possessions and goods, then -haitaan will not come near; (J; Whosoever reads Ayatul Cursi and the beginning of -urah Nhafir in the morning then he will be protected and be safe from the morning until the evening and vice versa; -ubahaanallaahX; By Riaz Ahemad
