The Greatest Love.

Where can I find this Love? Who gives this kind of Love?

In Todays society, it seems like everyone hates or dislikes each other. If you look on the News, all it shows is killing, wars, arguments robbery, school shootings, threats, etc. Is any of this love? Of course not! None of that is love, but very rarely you do see someone showing love, either if it is someone doing something for Goodwill or Charity, other than that, no great love is shown hardly on the News. I was reading an article on Fox News, it was talking about this little girl who was reading her speech in class. The speech was supposed to be about something the family cherishes on Christmas, so the little girl brought to school the star of Bethlehem. She brought that to school and said
The Greatest Love 1

what the star represents, but before she could talk about the wise men, the teacher told her to stop and said to her Jesus is not allowed to be in school, School policy. It seems the love of God is also drifting away from schools. They are taking God out of schools now; they are taking the Bibles out of schools, why? Because of different religions getting mad at each other or, they just dont want anything to do with God any more. It seems like our freedom is being violated. Some people cannot even take their Bibles to school or even read about the Bible or make a speech about it (in some schools that have enforced that). The love of God is starting to fade away; the love for other people is starting to fade away. In the Matthew 24:12 says: And because lawlessness will bond, the love of many will grow cold. When Jesus said this scripture, he was on the Mount of Olives when his Disciples came to him and privately said to him Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age? (Matthew 24:3)
The Greatest Love 2

Jesus has warned us that the love of many will be Question for growing cold, and it seems it you to answer: has already started. Because it Why do some has! Look on the news, people people hate Christians? killing each other is not love that is hatred, anger. Men marry women just for sex is not love that is lust. Children getting beat by their parents, Children getting killed by their parents. All of these things are on the News. To me, the News is nothing but bad news, but from time to time, there are some good things that does come on the News that is interesting, but what make me sick is seeing someone killing another person just because they were anger, jealous, or cold hearted.

Why do people hate the Disciples? (Christians) The Words Hatred. We Christians must stay strong in this world because in John 15:18-25, it talks about the world

The Greatest Love

hating us, because it hated Christ first. Lets read these verses and lets see why the world hates us so much. John 15:18-25: it says: If the world hates you, you know it hated me before it hated you. (19) If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I choose you out of the world, therefor the world hates you. (20) Remember the world that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. (21) But all these things they will do to you for My names sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. (God the Father). (22) If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. (23) He who hates Me hates My Father also.

The Greatest Love

(24) If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. (25) But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated Me without a cause. To me this puts a very good example on how the world is today, and how it was in the past when Jesus was on the earth. There are some questions that I had in mind when I was reading these verses. One was Why does the world hate us? and Why do they hate Christ when he was the Savior? First of all, I would like to answer question 2. Why do they hate Christ when he was the Savior? Most of the people that were following Jesus believed he was the son of God and believed he was the Savior, but some people who absolutely hated him because they thought he was a fake. They did not believe he was the son of God. They thought he

The Greatest Love

was Blasphemy. For example, look in Matthew 26: 59-65 it says: (59) Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put him to death, (60) but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward. (61) and said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days. (62) And the high priest arose and said to him, Do you answer nothing? What is it these men testify against you? (63) But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to him, I put you under oath by the living God: tell us if You are Christ, the Son of God! (64) Jesus said to him, It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
The Greatest Love 6

(65) Then the high priest tore his cloths, saying, He has spoken Blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His Blasphemy. You can tell that they wanted Jesus to die because they made lies about him. On verse 61 it says, and said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days. He was not actually talking about the temple that took forty-six years to build; he was talking about his body (John 2:19-21), the temple of the Holy Spirit. We have that Temple too and that temple is us. We are the temple; our bodies are the temple, just like Jesus body was the temple. --------------------------------------------------------------------Now, why would they want to kill Jesus when he showed them love and compassion? He healed the sick, blind, deaf and brought the dead back to life. Here are some Verses on the healings he performed: Matthew 8:1-4 (Jesus healing a Leper)
The Greatest Love 7

Matthew 8:5-13 (Jesus healing a Centurions Servant) Matthew 8:14-15 (Jesus healed Peters Mother-in-Law) Matthew 8:16-17 (Jesus healed many people) Matthew 8:28-32 (Jesus healed two Demon Possessed Men) Matthew 9:1-8 (Jesus heals and Forgives a Paralytic Man) Matthew 9:18-22 & Matthew 9:23-26 (A women healed who had a Flow of blood, Jesus raised a girl from the dead) These verses are the people(s) that Jesus healed. Dont get me wrong, he healed many more people, but these are just some scripture. He had compassion for all these people because he loved them all, if you look in Matthew 9:35-36 it says: (35) The Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
The Greatest Love 8

(36)But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with Compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. --------------------------------------------------------------------In Psalm 147:3 says: He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. What does this verse mean? If we are broken, dont know what to do, feel depressed, feel like the world is crashing around us, God will come in and try to put peace in your heart. You need to pray for the peace and God will give you that strength and he will heal you from your broken heart and depression. --------------------------------------------------------------------Jesus still has compassion for us till this day, even though he is in heaven on the right hand of the father. Now the synonyms of compassion are: Mercy, Love, and Kindness. Jesus falls in all of this, because he is LOVE, he showed us MERCY (Crucifixion), and he is KIND to all people.

The Greatest Love

Right now, we are his sheep, we are his children, but we have a shepherd now, and we have a father. Our Shepherd/Father loves us, he cares for us, his love is great and strong for us.

If Jesus love is so great, then why does he condemn us? (Conviction). For one, Jesus did not come on the earth to condemn people, he simply came on earth to preach, heal, and to be crucified. In John 3:17 it says: (17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world though Him might be saved. That the world might be saved? By the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Conviction is different from Condemning. Because, like the verse says: God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world. Jesus will never condemn us, but then what is Conviction? Why does God convict us for sinning?

The Greatest Love

10

Why is God convicting me? Reason God convicts us for sinning is because he loves us. Conviction is to reprove. What does reprove mean? Reprove means to Correct, so that means when we sin against God, he is trying to correct us and tell us not to do it again because he loves us. It is the same way with a parent. When we disobey our parents, they will correct us to teach us that it is wrong and not to do it again because they love us. Conviction is a way of God telling us that we did wrong and a way for him to correct us. If we dont want to be convicted, then follow his rules and his teachings. Yes, we will mess up and slip a couple of times, but that is when God comes in and corrects you.

Do we show Love when we are in an argument? When we are in arguments sometimes we tend to get fired up and join in on the argument and before we know it, we are raging at each other like mad dogs. We are humans, we tend to get in

The Greatest Love

11

situations like that but we can also avoid them. By avoiding them I mean by turning the other cheek, and loving one another. Now I understand how some of us are, we believe in fighting back until one of us won the argument or fight. Does our argument show the Love of God in us? No, it doesnt. Lets look in 1 Timothy 2:24, it says: (24) And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but gentle to all, able to teach, patient. This verse is telling the servants of the Lord to be gentle to every human being and do not fight.

We must be able to teach with Kindness and out of Love, not out of anger. If we teach out of anger, we are not leading the Lost Souls anywhere, the only place we are leading them is father away from God, they need to see the love of God inside our hearts, which will be reflected on the outside of us by our actions, and by the way we speak and teach others.

The Greatest Love

12

If we also look in Proverbs 3:30, it says: (30) Do not strive with a man without a cause, If he has done you no harm. Strive means to quarrel, fight. Why do we want to fight with someone for no reason at all? Christians should not fight at all in the first place especially when we are teaching the lost souls. If we do get into a fight, we must Turn the other cheek. (Matthew 5:39). ---------------------------------------------------------------How Jesus loved his enemies How could Jesus love his enemies after everything they done to him? When Judas was the Lords Supper/Last Supper, Jesus spoke and said: Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me. (Matthew 26:21). When Jesus said to this his people, they were surprise at that. They ask him who it is and he told that He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray me. (Matthew 26:23). If we look in John 13:18-30 he was eating the Supper with his Disciples, like in Matthew. But John
The Greatest Love 13

breaks it down to more detail on what happens. When Jesus broke the bread and dipped he gave it to Judas Iscariot, which means that Judas is the betrayer. The Disciples where confused! They did not know that Judas was the betrayer, and when Jesus gave him the dipped bread, they still did not know when was even when Jesus said It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it. (John 13:26). After Jesus gave Judas the bread, he said to him What you do, do quickly.(John 13:27). The Disciples did not know that, they thought he was going to get stuff for the feast because Judas had the money box. When they came to arrest Jesus, Judas made a sign by kissing whoever he is going to betray, which Jesus is of course. But if we look in Matthew 26:4756 is Jesus being arrested. Now did you know that Judas killed his self because of what he has done? He killed his self because he betrayed innocent blood. (As scripture says).

The Greatest Love

14

When Jesus was being beaten, spat at, and being mock, not one time did Jesus turn around and started mocking and fighting back, because the scripture had to be fulfilled. We must be like that; we should no fight back, because the bible tells us in Romans 12:19 that we should not avenge ourselves, but it is the Lords. Meaning the Lord will give them what they deserve, but we should not. ----------------------------------------------------------------

As we follow God, we will always be made fun of and mock for our belief, but that does not give us a reason to mock the person back and to make fun of him. We need to turn around and move on with our life and read the bible. Jesus took a greater beating than us, we need to turn the other cheek like Jesus did and not fight back with our enemies. We should LOVE our enemies because Jesus loved his.
The Greatest Love 15

Loving our Enemies How we suppose to love Question for you to answer: our enemies if they are our How should we handle our Enemies enemies? This question might anger? pop in your head many times when you read in Luke 6:27. Which says: (27) But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. How am I supposed to be good to them if they been mean to me? This question is very simple to answer, but it is very hard to make the words turn into actions and happen. First, you must forgive your enemy for what he has done to you in the PAST. Notice I put PAST; everything he has done to you should be put behind you and never be remembered. (Philippians 3:13). You should first forgive him (Ephesians 4:32). Second, which might be the hardest part for some people, is that you should have a friendly conversation with him. Sit with him at a table, try to talk to him about Christ, be nice to him.

The Greatest Love

16

If he is just being mean and outrages and dont want you to talk to him, then just go, but display Godly action in front of him. Ex. Read your Bible, Witness to others, do nice. Reason why we need Godly actions is because people can tell by our fruit if we are of God or not. Our fruit will tell us if we are a good fruit or if we are rotten fruit/bad fruit. Our fruit will show our actions, the way we talk, and the people who we hang out with. (Matthew 7:18) Everyone on earth will have one or two enemies in life, there will be someone who dislikes you. Christians has many of them people, whether if they are at work or at school, we will always have them. Lets look in Psalm 118:6, it says: The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Why should I be afraid of people on earth if I have God on my side? Reason why we fear people on earth is because we dont know what they are going to say to us or what they will think about us. In my opinion, I really dont care what they think or say about me. I have a God who is on my side. I
The Greatest Love 17

have a God who is leading me into what he think is best for me, so I should not be afraid. Why is God on my side? Because he loves us and he wants us to know that he loves us. If you have a war between two different armies, they are going to fight each other, because they hate each other, or they are just told to kill anyone they see. You have friends on your side that loves you and will protect you, and you have people who hate you and will try to kill you on the other side. That is how God is, he is on your side and he will protect you because he loves you. What happens if God never did love me? This should not even be a question, because God will love us no matter what. Even before the world was created, he loved. He loved everything he created; he still loves us till this day. Lets look in Romans 5:8, it says, But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This verse tells us a lot of meaning, even though it seems like it doesnt. What I get out of this verse is that God showed us a lot of love to
The Greatest Love 18

that. He showed us his love when he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us on the Cross. Christ died for us because we were sinners. Even John 3:16 tells us that. Dont be ashamed/scared to preach his word or about his love. Why are we afraid to show the Love of God to others on earth? Why is it so hard to witness to other people? I had these same questions going through my head when I read Mark 16:15. I have said to myself countless of times that I should not be afraid to show the Love of God to others but, when I get around a large group of people, I get scared to read my Life without Bible or to even pray. Then when God is like an I read Mark 8:38. When I read unsharpened Pencil, it has no that verse, all the scared, all of the fear came out of me, because point. ~ Unknown I sure dont want Jesus to be ashamed of me. This scripture reads For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of
The Greatest Love 19

him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels! Now when I read this verse I had seen two words that I like to talk about a second, Adulterous and sinful generation. If you look around, it does seem like that because it is. It was like that when Jesus was preaching about this. It still is it is never going to change until he comes. We as Christians need to get out of our comfort spot or get out of hiding and start sharing, and preaching the word of God. God calls us witnesses, if we are witnesses of Christ, then we need to start acting like one. Now Bobby, how does this have anything to do about The Greatest Love? It has a lot to do about it, if we LOVE God, we should not be ashamed of him. We should not be afraid to speak about him. It has a lot to do about it.

The Greatest Love

20

Lets look in Deuteronomy 6:5, it says, You shall love the Lord your We should not God with all your heart, with be all your soul, with all your ashamed of strength. This should be our Gods Love. Love towards God, but in some cases its not. Why? If you look in the Romans 1:16- word, there are some Christians who are acting like Christians in For I am not ashamed of the church, but when they get out of Gospel of Christ, church, they are acting like the for it is the WORLD! That is not the love of God power of God to that is showing through us. salvation for everyone who It seems like the Christians are believes, for the scared to show the love of God out Jew first and in the world or they want to act like also for the the world, but they act like a Greek. NKJV Christian in Church. First of all, we do not need to be acting out our belief in Church. We need be act like it in the world,
The Greatest Love 21

not just act like a Christian but BEING one, being ONE in a Church. So stop acting like a Christian everywhere you go, but BE one. That just leads us back to Psalm 118:6. Why should we be afraid to express our love to God in public? We do it in Church, why not in public? Like I have said before, we FEAR what people will think or say to us. You may be thinking What does this have to do with The Greatest Love? To me, this has a lot do to with it because if we love God, we would not be afraid of what others think of us.

The LOVE he showed us on the CROSS. Now we are getting into the greatest love. This is where it all happens; this is where the most powerful love he showed us, the most amazing love, the GREATEST love in the Bible I would think. The love he showed was when he was on the Cross. Now in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John they talk about the death of Jesus on the Cross. But we are only going to the book of Matthew. This is going to

be an exciting journey of learning not just for you but also for me. Lets start in the book of Matthew. Not only does the book of Matthew talks about the death of Jesus but it also talks about his birth. You can find that in Matthew 1:18-25 & 2:1-12. As we look in Matthew 27:32-50 it says: Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled (to push) to bear His cross. (33) And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, this is to say, Place of a skull, (34) they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink. (35) Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. (36) Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there, (37) And they put up over his head the accusation
The Greatest Love 23

written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. (38) Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left. (39) And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads (40) and saying, You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself!!! If you are the son of God, come down from that cross. Now if you remember, we already talk about the Temple he was going to rebuild in only 3 days, it is not the temple that took forty-six years to build but the body. (41) Likewise the chief priest also, mocking with scribes and elders, said (42) He saved others; Himself He cannot saved. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. (43) He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if he will have Him; for He said, I am the Son of God. (44) Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled (to retaliate) Him with the same thing.

(45) Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. (46) And about the Ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is My God, My God, why have your forsaken Me? (47) Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, This man is calling for Elijah! (48) Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to him to drink. (49) The rest said Let him alone let us see if Elijah will come to save him. (50) And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. What does verse 50 mean? That is when Jesus gave his spirit up and he died. This verse has brought tears to my eyes many times because he died just for us. He had the sins of the world on his shoulders; he died for everyones sins. He took many beatings for before he was lifting on that Cross. Lets look in Matthew 27:27-31- it says, (27)

The Greatest Love

25

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorian and gathered the whole garrison around him. (28) And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him (29) When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him saying, Hail, King of the Jews! (30) Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. (31) And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own cloths on Him, and lead Him away to be crucified. He took beating for us, he took the strikes on his back for us, he took the beating of the clubs for us, he let them soldiers mock him because he loves us. God sent his son on earth for us; he must really love us if he did that just for us. There are some things we need to cover, for one if Jesus is dead, how is he still with us? Well,

The Greatest Love

26

Jesus is not dead, he is surly alive, he arose on the 3rd day. We can find that in Matthew 28: 1-8, Mark 16:1-8, John 20:1-10. All these books, chapters, and verses explain to us that Jesus arose on the 3rd day so therefore he is not dead. If Jesus is NOT dead, why dont I see him? Jesus is not a human form but he is in a spirit form. He is always with us and he will never leave our side no matter what we are going through. He is our spiritual father, like any father would do; if you fall he will help you back up and help you through life. He will teach you and give you knowledge, but the wisdom of God is much stronger than human wisdom. But Jesus is in spirit form, but one day, he will come back and we will get to see him and go home with him to our home beyond the skies! Now when they found out that Jesus was alive, the disciples got to see him again but after the Lord got done talking to them, he ascended up into heaven. That is in Luke 24:50-53, Mark 16:19-20.

The Greatest Love

27

God loves each and every one of you. If he did not love us, he would have never sent his son to die on the Cross for our sins. I am grateful that God loved us that much to send his OWN son. John 3:16, and that my friend, is The Greatest Love.
