Print Configuration Page Press Menu . Press the down arrow to highlight INFORMATION , and then press OK .

Press the down arrow to highlight PRINT CONFIGURATION , and then press OK to pr int. Cold reset A cold reset unlocks menus that have been previously locked and returns all of t he control panel menu items (including EIO settings) to the factory defaults. However, it does not cle ar the values in the SERVICE menu (such as the serial number and page counts). NOTE: Before performing a cold reset, print a menu map and a configuration page (see Print the information and show-me-how pages on page 66). Use the information on the config uration page to reset any customer-set configuration values that the cold reset procedure change s. To perform a cold reset 1. Turn the product power off. 2. For HP P4010/4510 Series printers: Turn the product power on, and then hold d own OK when the memory count begins. 3. Continue holding down OK until all three control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds. 4. After the SELECT LANGUAGE message appears on the display, press (Up Arrow but ton) or (Down Arrow button) until COLD RESET is highlighted. 5. Press OK. The product performs a cold reset and then continues its power-on s equence. 6. Check all I/O settings and reset any customer-set configuration values. Hard disk initialization A hard disk initialization will erase and reformat the product's hard disk. Perf orm hard disk initialization only if an error code displays on the control panel indicating a disk error. Alw ays try initializing the hard disk before replacing it. 1. Turn the product on. 2. As the product performs its power-on sequence, press and hold the Menu button until all three lights on the control panel are lit. 3. Press the back arrow . The message INITIALIZE DISC displays on the control pa nel. 4. Press OK. The product initializes the hard disk and continues the power-on se quence. NVRAM initialization CAUTION: Initializing NVRAM resets the serial number, the event log, the page co unts, the calibration settings, and the EIO card. Use the SERVICE menu to restore the serial number an

d page counts. You also need to reconfigure any computers that print to this product to recognize t he product. Initialize NVRAM only when absolutely necessary. In most situations, use a cold reset to re set product variables but still retain the needed values in the SERVICE menu. Before initializing NVRAM, print a configuration page and a supplies status page to gather the following information: ? Total page count ? Serial number 1. Turn the product on and watch the control panel display. 2. When the display shows the memory count, press and hold the down arrow until all three lights on the control panel are lit. 3. Press the up arrow . 4. Press Menu . The message SKIP DISK LOAD displays on the control panel. 5. Press the up arrow until NVRAM INIT is highlighted, and then press OK. The pr oduct initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.
