Trip to Japan with Jenesys 2.

A. Study Experience In June 2013, I had wonderful study experience that I would never forget. It was mining tour programme which followed by 80 students. Besides getting professional knowledge it also helped me in personal development. Mining Tour(excurtion) from West Sumatera to north Sumatera gave me good engineering skills and global overview of mining industry. It was an unique experience to travel to North Sumatera and visit many mining projects in three differents mining industries (PT. Agincourt Resources, PT INALUM, and PT. PERTAMINA PANGKALAN SUSU). Its a program where I could travel to study and improve my knowledge about mining and environment. This excurtion not only challenges me at an academic level but it also challenges me with living in different places and studying with professional mining engineers from many cultures. The lessons that given were intensive and the discipline was fast paced. I have learnt many things about the mining industry in this year. I have also seen mining industry and unique places throughout North Sumatera and visited some amazing mines and tourism places along the way. The real value of mining tour is not only the technical knowledge that I gain, but the personal development I make, the intra-cultural skills I build ,the contacts and friends I find, all during one hectic, incredible, demanding, enjoyable year. During the Excurtion, I found all of my new colleagues very nice and now they are my friends forever. I would like to thanks all mining engineers for their sincere efforts to make this program simply. The Excurtion that I followed has been an amazing journey. By visiting three mining companies, I have known the real mining insustrials look like. Beside, I also learn to become discipline person because as long as my excurtion, I had to use time wisely.

B. Background / brief explain My name was given Hasnan Fiqri Ruggani which means man with kind heart. I was born on February 28th, 1994 in beautiful town Sibolga. I have 4 brothers and a sister. When I was seventeen, I joined with an organizations like

green environtment group. In this group, I had learnt a lot of things about environment and also opened my heart to care about healthy environtment. Now, I am studying in State University of Padang which focusing on mining engineering department. My academic GPA is 3.79. Although I do well in campus, I do not strive for only that, but also personal enrichment as well. I also had trained well for being volunteer and dedicated myself to help victims of earthquake. Beside, I had studied about mitigation to prevent natural disaster in my town, Sibolga. With all these experience that I got, together with society can help each others. Challenge in life is something that I am looking for. I consider myself kind of person who look at a glass half full instead of half empty. Every chance must be taken seriously and being positive to face that chance. I believe with all challenges in life I could be stronger. When I become stronger theres a way to pursue my dream to become true. Right from my undergrad days, it was a dream for me to join in jenesys 2.0 programme and something that I was looking forward to. The main reason that I want to join in this programme is to learn and give more about education disaster. I have been dreaming for a long time to travel to Japan. My motivation for following jenesys is not just about know how to dedicate myself for being internship or volunteer, but it also being able to influence and inspire other people from what I learn. Thus, I will prepare myself as good as possible to be a part of Jenesys 2,0

C. Why Should I join ? Japan and Indonesia are located in Ring of fire zone where natural disaster like earthquaqe and tsunami could happen to these countries. As a student university, I have put much thought into future. It would be an honour to be selected being part of this programme because I consider myself a kind of person who want to teach and dedicate my knowledges for everybody that need it. With all experience that happened on me, I believe I could make a change for a better future. In the future, I want to be good mining engineer who care about society, education, and environment. To purse my dreams, I want to follow jenesys 2.0. It is very good programme for me as young generation in order to build education about natural

disaster and self character. As form of public serving, I think I should join with jenesys 2.0 because I want to know more about the way Japanese prevent and face natural disaster. For making a good future, I should concern about natural and society. By joining this programme, I believe that I can get many knowledges from Japanese especially the way that they learn how to response and prevent natural disaster. In other hand, I want to build more of good personality from myself and cooperate with my team to pursue and make our programme run well.
