YWCA CANADA JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Manager of Fund Development

Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), participate in setting the operational vision and goals for the National Office and develop corresponding short and long-range plans for Resource Development. Develop and manage resource development programs and projects, and serve as a central resource and support to Member Associations across the country as related to fund development.

General Duties:
Participate as a member of the management team in the development and recommendation of Association strategic goals and objectives. Manage the resource development portfolio by: Developing, recommending and implementing resource development strategies, programs, goals and work plans that reflect and support national strategic objectives and directions; Creating cultivation, solicitation and stewardship programs to engage donors and sponsors; Identifying, researching, cultivating and soliciting prospective donors and sponsors; Prioritizing and fostering strong relationships with donors and sponsors for the long term; Collaborating on the development of timely and relevant donor and sponsor communications; Preparing and/or contributing to the preparation of complex funding proposals and grant applications to corporations, foundations, government, external associations and community partners; Coordinating resource development programs and events with Member Associations as required; Initiating and designing projects and work plans, establishing and monitoring priorities and timetables, and determining needed resources and the allocation of responsibilities, as appropriate; Participating in the development and management of the resource development budget, including revenues and expenses; Identifying and engaging volunteers to participate in resource development activities; Providing advice, consultation and support to and working closely with Member Associations to support their own resource development strategies; Developing national resource development initiatives that will benefit and support local Member Association resource development efforts and goals; Demonstrating knowledge and practice of effective and ethical fundraising standards and developing the related and supporting systems, policies and procedures; and by Helping to ensure all resource development activities and functions are in accordance with legal and ethical standards, including the Canada Revenue Agency Guidance, Fundraising by Registered Charities.

Provide advice and expertise related to resource development to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, other staff members and Member Associations. Develop, review and submit reports as requested to the Chief Executive Officer that provide an evaluation of current fundraising performance and any issues related to the resource development program. Make recommendations on any needed course of action. Recognize the need for and collaborate as appropriate with colleagues to ensure the goals/objectives of all national projects, programs and events met and that the best interests of YWCA Canada are promoted and supported. Manage any staff, volunteers and contractors working on projects and initiatives relating to the resource development by: Developing and managing resource development work plans that further the YWCA Canada Strategic Priorities and Directions; Establishing and changing priorities and timetables in response to changing resource and staffing conditions; Appropriately assigning and organizing responsibilities; Coaching and mentoring; Identifying performance level indicators, then monitoring and evaluating performance and initiating corrective/preventative discipline when appropriate; Securing and maintaining appropriate training and resources and providing career development opportunities/challenges when appropriate. Represent YWCA Canada when requested to community partners, Member Associations and other national organizations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Salary range: $60,000-$65,000 per annum.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
