Quick Set-Up Guide


Thank you for purchasing Powertxt for remote power control and power loss alerting. Please see quick set-up guide the guide as follows: 1. Socket Drawings 7.

Setting the master number Please save the Powertxt mobile number in the contacts section of your phone so you can easily send messages to it. Please send the command #00# from your phone to the mobile number. It will then send you a message back to say Welcome to the GSM Socket, your password is 1234. To change the password for security please send the command #04#OldPassword#NewPassword# i.e. #04#1234#5678# and the password will be confirmed. Setting the date / time If Powertxt is being used for the first time or it has been reset then the time / date needs to be set. Please send the command #152# from your phone to the Powertxt mobile number. It will then send you a message back to say The time of the device has been regulated automatically *time and date* Adding additional users / numbers To add additional users the master user sends the command #06#AdditionalNumber# and to add several additional numbers (up to 4) the master user sends the command #06#AdditionalNumber1#..#AdditionalNumber4# It will then send you a message back to say #..# The additional number/s have been set successfully. Controlling the power (output) To turn the power ON please send the command #01# from your phone to the Powertxt mobile number, it will then send you a message back to say The socket output has been switched on. The red LED output light will turn on and your connected device will turn on. To turn the power OFF please send the command #02# from your phone to the Powertxt mobile number, it will then send you a message back to say The socket output has been switched off. The red LED output light will turn off and your connected device will turn off. Additional users need to add the password into their command i.e. #01#1234# or #02#1234#

Notification when power is lost / restored If the Powertxt is disconnected from external power or a loss of power occurs all functions of the socket are deactivated and Powertxt will notify the master by text main electricity supply lost together with a temperature reading (if the temperature sensor is connected). If the power is reconnected to external power or the power resumes Powertxt will notify the master by text main electricity supply restored. This feature is enabled automatically. 11. Changing the master user To change the master number please send the following SMS command to Powertxt from the current master user #14#NewMasterNumber# Powertxt will then send a confirmation SMS to the old master. 12. Deleting additional users To delete additional users / number please send the following SMS command to Powertxt #113#AdditionalNumber# Powertxt will then send a confirmation SMS to the master user. 13. Checking Powertxt status Check socket output status: #000# After receiving the SMS command Powertxt will send an SMS message confirming its output status: i.e. Status: ON, Temp: 20 14. Resetting Powertxt This function resets all programmed settings to their original parameters, including deleting all additional users/numbers. If the setting status is wrong and you have tried re-entering commands, the socket can be reset to its factory settings. Note. This function needs to be used carefully as it also erases all setting values. To reset Powertxt the master user sends #08# Powertxt will then send a confirmation SMS to the master user.

Installing the SIM card Please make sure the power switch on the back of Powertxt is set to the OFF position. Open the SIM cover on the back of the Powertxt (see number 8 on figure 1), put the SIM card in (gold contacts face down and the cut edge of the SIM at the bottom left) and close the SIM cover. Plug the temperature sensor into the side of the socket (see number 2 on figure 1) OPTIONAL. Turning Powertxt on / off Turn the power switch on the back to the on position and plug Powertxt into a wall socket. The green power led will illuminate and the blue GSM led will flash for about 20 seconds before staying constant to confirm a GSM signal has been found (please make sure the signal in the area is good). Powertxt is now ready to be programmed. Users Powertxt has two levels of control, Master User and Additional Users. The Master user has authorisation to use all of the features (only one master user per socket). Additional users have access to a number of features but they must use a password within their command to control Powertxt, if there are any changes made to Powertxt the master user will always get notification.
