Titanic

A classic movie, the story of the unsinkable ship Titanic, still manages to induce passion into the viewers. This romantic movie is a favorite among movie goers, lovers, and critics and just about everyone. Enjoyed by one and all, this movie was remade in the year 199 by !ames "ameron, who is the director, writer and the co#producer of the film. $t starred %ate &inslet and 'eonardo (i "aprio in the lead roles and swept all the awards at major award functions. The plot of the movie revolves around two members belonging to different social classes, who fall in love on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, despite of all odds stacked against them. The movie has won eleven Academy awards, including the award for the )est *icture. Story The film opens in modern times and shows an e+pedition team diving where the Titanic sunk, taking along with it the famous ,-#"arat blue diamond. &hen the diving mission is telecast on television, a 1.1#year#old woman, /ose "alvert, claims to be the woman who wore the famous diamond. 0he then tells the story of the Titanic and her love story too. The viewers are taken back in time, to the year 1911, where a 1 #year#old ravishingly beautiful /ose 2%ate &inslet3 is set to sail on the Titanic along with her arrogant fianc4 "aledon 5ockley 2)illy 6ane3. 0he comes across this low#class artist !ack (awson 2'eonardo (i "aprio3 and they both grow fond of each other.

They eventually fall in love and share some intimate moments with one another. /ose decides to leave the ship with !ack and dump her fianc4 forever. That is when fate decides to intervene and the Titanic hits the iceberg. As it sinks slowly, one can see the desperation the two lovers e+perience. They are ready to sacrifice their lives for one another. 5owever, while /ose survives to tell this tale, !ack is met with a tragic fate as he tries to save %ate from jaws of death. $n the penultimate scene of the film, after narrating the complete story, the elderly /ose gets up and walks till the stern of 'ovett7s ship and drops the engagement pendent from her fianc4, into the water. As she sleeps, there are pictures around her depicting everything she said she would do with !ack all through her life. The final scene of the film shows a young /ose at the 8rand 0taircase of the Titanic, reunited with !ack. 0he is surrounded by those who died in the disaster, who are applauding their reunion. &hether this is a conscious dream or /ose has died in her sleep, is deliberately left unclear by the director to create an impact. &atch this high intensity drama that shows some really passionate feelings of love and makes us wonder about the games destiny plays. T$TA:$" )eginning with treasure hunter )rock 'ovett 2)ill *a+ton3 searching the Titanic wreck for the fabled necklace named the 5eart of the ;cean, the Titanic movie features actual footage of the wreckage. After recovering a safe that was thought to belong to first class passenger "aledon <"al7 5ockley, played by )illy 6ane, 'ovett hopes to find the 5eart of the ;cean contained within. 5e finds nothing but soggy bank statements and a sketch of a naked woman wearing the necklace, and 'ovett believes that he has hit a dead end. A woman by the name of /ose "alvert 28loria 0tuart3 sees 'ovett on the news and contacts him. 'ovett is uninterested in what she has to say at first, but becomes intrigued when she tells him that she is the woman in the drawing. After being flown in to tell her story, we learn that /ose "alvert was once /ose (e&itt )ukater and was a first class passenger on the Titanic. 0he beings telling her e+perience on the doomed vessel. The movie begins with drifter !ack (awson 2'eonardo (i"aprio3 winning third class tickets for the Titanic in a poker game. 5im and his friend =abri>io catch the ship just as it is leaving. $t also shows first class passenger /ose (e&itt )ukater 2%ate &inslett3, her mother /uth 2=rances =isher3 and her fiance "al 5ockley. /ose is on the way to *hiladelphia to marry 5ockley, an arrangement made by her mother to protect her status of wealth. ?nhappy with this decision, /ose attempts to commit suicide by throwing herself from the Titanic. 0he is confronted by (awson who convinces her to come up from the railing. /ose invites !ack to dinner as a thanks, and after !ack spirits her away to a third class evening of dancing. /ose decides to decide her own future and asks !ack, who is an acclaimed artist to draw her nude wearing only the 5eart of the ;cean. The two then find their way to the cargo hold and find a rich man7s car waiting for them. They proceed to make love in the back seat before the ship hits an iceberg. As people begin boarding lifeboats, !ack is arrested and locked in the master at arms7 office. $nstead of boarding a lifeboat, /ose goes back to help !ack and the two must fight for survival. !ack and /ose7s fianc4 "al finally convince her to board a lifeboat, and "al assures her that he has made arrangements to get both men off of the boat safely. "al double cross !ack and /ose decides to go back for him yet again despite her being urged to stay on the lifeboat. /ose finds !ack and "al chases them into the flooded first#class dining room with a pistol. ;nce they escape "al, he returns to the deck and boards a lifeboat after pretending to look after an abandoned child. /ose and !ack go down with the ship and !ack helps her onto a door that can support the weight of one person. &hile !ack is in the free>ing water, they e+change loving words, and !ack dies of hypothermia. ;nce aboard the "arpathia, /ose gives her name as /ose (awson. 0he sees "al one more time frantically looking for her but hides her face in a blanket just as he looks in her direction. /ose then proceeds to do everything that her and !ack promised to do together, and lives her life. )ack on 'ovett7s ship, /ose walks to the side, produces the 5eart of the ;cean and tosses it overboard. $n the last scene, /ose is met by !ack on the grand staircase of the Titanic, they kiss and are applauded by those who were lost in the disaster. $t isn7t known whether or not she is dreaming or if she dies 2!ack
