A: The prop governor pad accommodates either a Woodward, Hartzell or similar governor. The propeller flange is an SAE 2L (like the Lycoming IO360).

Do you make fixed pitch props? No, Hartzell Propeller only makes constant speed props. What about a prop for my pusher design? Hartzell has a few blades available for pusher applications, however, these applications require a vibration survey making one-off applications cost prohibitive. What about a reversing propeller? Over the years Hartzell has developed a number of reversing propellers. At the present time we do not offer reversing propellers for piston-engine applications. Will a three-blade prop make my airplane quieter inside? Yes, in most installations increasing the number of blades helps to reduce noise. Cockpit noise comes from a variety of sources; engine, exhaust, slipstream, and the propeller. Vibrations are also perceived as noise in the cockpit. A two-blade propeller produces an inherent once-per-revolution vibration that shakes the airframe, so a three-blade propeller will be inherently smoother and therefore quieter. In a single engine airplane, the propeller blade wake will beat on the windshield producing noise. Changing from two to three blades reduces the wake intensity and also increases the frequency of the beating, which is perceived as quieter. In a twin, the reduced diameter of the three blade propeller will result in less tip-generated noise and a greater clearance between the blade tip and the fuselage. Both of these characteristics will reduce cabin noise.

Q/A. Do you offer a pusher type propeller? We offer a pusher propeller option (tractor configuration blades) suitable for use with counter rotating (CCW) engines (e.g. Lycoming LIO-540). We do have a pusher propeller design completed for use with standard (clockwise rotating) engines (CW) and recently have begun work on tooling fabrication for producing these pusher configuration type blades. The propeller prices quoted include a complete, statically balanced, constant speed propeller ready to bolt on your aircraft. Our spinner kit prices include spinner cone,

Our prices have actually come down more than 25 percent over the last 4 years, in real dollars! This has been made possible, as our propeller sales volume has increased (take advantage of economy of scale), while still maintaining a reasonable manufacturer's profit margin for our company. Our propeller prices today, are very competitive. Prices for our composite propellers are less than half the price of Hartzell composite propellers made using more than 20 year old composite technology. Our composite propellers are more expensive than aluminum propellers but they offer so many significant advantages. Our propellers are priced close to MT's composite (wood blades with thin composite outer shell) propeller prices (don't forget import duties and shipping costs) again offering so many significant advantages.
