JFK REPORT
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline Massachusetts. John was named after his grandfather John Francis Fitzgerald. He was 1 out of nine children. Kennedy had 3 other brothers and 5 sisters. John married Jacqueline Lee Bouvier. The eldest child was Joseph Patrick Kennedy Jr. and the youngest was Edward Moore Kennedy. One of his sisters, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, became the mayor of Boston and another, Rose Kennedy, had an intellectual disability. Johns brother Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy was also assassinated during a campaign in 1968. His parents were Joseph Patrick Kennedy and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald who were married in 1953. He came from a wealthy Irish Catholic Family. John F. Kennedy was the first Catholic President. He first served in the U.S. House of Representatives and was part of the U.S. Senate before becoming the 35th President in 1961. Kennedy established the Peace Corps which send thousands of volunteers around the world to help the needy. He helped prevent a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, also known as the Cuban missile crisis. John F. Kennedy had many bright ideas such as the first landing on the moon which occurred after he died in 1969. In fact before he dies he said that they would launch before the decade was over which they did. He secured a treaty with the Soviet Union. JFK also fought against racial segregation and discrimination. John F. Kennedys death was very tragic. Kennedy flew into Dallas, Texas on November 21, 1963 for a presidential campaign and the next day he was assassinated. When they arrived he was greeted by a convertible which was the vehicle he was to ride in during campaigning. A few of the officers told him they would get another car, but JFK told them that he liked an open top

car where he could be able to stand up and wave to the fans. From an upstairs window of the Texas School Book Depository building, a 24-year-old warehouse worker named Lee Harvey Oswald, a former Marine with Soviet sympathies, fired upon the car, hitting the president twice. Kennedy died at Parkland Memorial Hospital shortly thereafter, at the age of 46. The first bullet went through his back and hit the Governor of Texass back. A second shot was fored hitting Kennedy in the head. He was rushed to the nearest hospital and was announced dead around 1:00 p.m. (http://www.biography.com/people/john-f-kennedy-9362930?page=5) Oswald was arrested later that day and while he was being transferred to another prison a club owner, Jack Ruby, jumped out of the crowd and shot Oswald.
