The Christie administration has allowed 7.6 million in grant money to fall to the way side ... Thursday, Feb. 20th was the official deadline for the state to submit a revised plan on how funds from the federal government were to be used. The grant was meant to provide uninsured New Jersey residents with medical coverage. The lapse in the submission will most likely result in the funds being returned to the federal government. HHS officials made their desire to work with the state clear, but according to HHS spokesman Fabien Levey the state has yet to send us a request to rescope their grant for any allowable activities. The state department claims to have submitted plans that rejected. NJ state insurance commissioner Ken Kobylowskie has claimed that the HHS has determined that none of the previously submitted plans were deemed unfit for use. The state is again requesting to use the use the funds for activities that have already been denied. If and when the funds will be allocated is still to be determined.

Continuing on the states budgetary woes.

New Jerseys is at an all time high, with $78.4 billion, up 6.6 billion from the previous year. According to reports released by the state Treasury Dept. on Wednesday, the increase is largely due to pensions the cost roughly 3.3 billion and health-benefits provided to public workers with an estimated 1.7 billion. The Christie administration has suggested deep budget cuts to social programs, a notion that has been openly rejected by Democrats in control of the legislature. The state is committed to a increase in pension payments, which could result in increases elsewhere, such as raising taxes and possible increases in the gas tax to provide funding for road projects. Democrats have tried to increase the income tax-rate on millionaires to compensate for some of the deficit but Christie has vetoed them, instead it is said that he will push for a 10 percent tax cut during his coming speeches.

Prosecutors also failed to provide evidence of the presence of testosterone in his home.
