I come from Pakistan, it is popularly known for war on terror.

Alike other developing countries it is suffering from hue and cry, cultural divisions, uneven distribution of wealth. There exist only two classes, rich and poor. Middle class has stopped to exist anymore because the rich are getting richer by utilizing their resources and poor are just struggling for their survival, getting poorer due to high inflation rate. I have struggled a lot to get here, my parents hardly paid for my fees and I had to pay the rest of the fee after getting job and paying off the university debts, still it was all that my parents had, they never saved for themselves. They do not have any savings for their own, they are living hand to mouth, and surviving against the highest ever inflation rate. My parents had to retaliate against the whole family and let me pursue my studies, as we have big combined family system here; family customs are such that everyone has to abide by their rules. Women here are discouraged strongly from making any progress regarding study, business or any kind of self independence. Studying here has been a tough experience for me as I come from a middle class traditional family, permission to study and even the conveyance issue is unresolved, I cannot pursue my studies here as women are not allowed to travel alone and my house is in a town far away from the city, also, I want to have better education standard than I already have. Pakistan is and always has been undergoing many devastating issues. In course of alliance with America, we paid a price. Pakistan is not the same safe place anymore. Bomb blasts, security breaches, attacks on the government agencies, even the most sensitive agencies are not safe, every agency faces swear attacks and lose many of assets including the most valuable brains. With fear gripping the nations mindset, it has turned into a police state. It cant keep the citizens safe, and as a student, I feel it is hindering my potential; undue delays in transportation and long often futile formalities to be fulfilled to gain access to data or equipment for educational needs in the time of chaos in the country. We get security threats everyday at universities, hospitals, restaurants, police stations etc from religious extremists (Taliban, members of Alqaida). I had narrow escapes from market blasts many times. We used to stay late at university not sure if we will ever reach home or not as there were bomb blasts on the way, our neighbor university had a blast in its girls caf, just because they were female students, not allowed to be educated. I have seen corpse and parts of the martyred hanging on trees and walls. This still has not stopped. I lost a friend in a blast at Mosque; it left deep affect on me and changed my thinking altogether. I have experienced hindrance in all the daily life matters because of the extreme conditions and still tolerating the hard life here, but I would not leave this country, instead; be a part of amendment of this country. Why in the first place all of this uproar happened? Yes the critical political situation but it could be controlled if we had better systems and better management of data, if only we had strong systems and very highly trained resources. While the educational institutions here provide the education but if they had peace and international standard, they could produce much better trained personnel who had the ability to control such disastrous situations through the proper use of technology in the time of chaos in country. The reason I have chosen this course is that when I studied about Computer Forensics in a course of Enterprise Network Technologies, I realized that this is the field I want to excel in. It fantasized me a lot

that how interesting is it to analyze data and to find out the related links, an advanced form of crime investigation. I already used to do a lot a analysis about computer usage history and files since my teenage on my brothers computer and studying the same thing was altogether an exciting experience, that course was not particularly about forensics stuff but I used to explore things on my own. Then In second last semester I studies Computer Networks Security and it was all linked together, Investigation and analysis of data and then transmission of data over secure channel. The circumstances of the country also demand security, security against any kind of attacks which start from Internet security in the modern age. Since my teenage, I read about hacking that how marvelous it gets when you are working for a security firm and your knowledge can make you save many lives/assets of your nation. Digital Fortress by Dan Brown is one of them which added to my passion. My plan is to get the education that will make me able to work in highly demanding situations where I can deliver my best and do the best for my country in Information security, whether it is network security or analysis of data for the security purpose. With the experiences I had, seen everything from so close; I have developed this strong urge to work devotedly towards betterment of the situation of this country through technology and be there in celebration when peace and prosperity come. I am pretty sure that if I am given a chance to get high standard education which is usually the fate of only privileged class of this country, I will do much better job in the in my field. Stating my passion, plan and all the issues I face here, Id like to have a chance to study in UK, free from these unnecessary restrictions providing world class education and hence I can explore my potential to the full extent and prove to be a productive and proactive facet of the system.
