Abut one thing $ do -it is my one aspiration0 forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, $ press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly priFe to which God in #hrist Jesus is calling us upward. Philippians &!(& -2MP0 @very %ingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. Matthew (<!<+ -C$D0 $f $ can spea% in the tongues of men and even of angels, but have not love -that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as inspired by God?s love for and in us0, $ am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2nd if $ have prophetic powers -the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose0, and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all %nowledge, and if $ have sufficient faith so that $ can remove mountains, but have not love -God?s love in me0 $ am nothing -a useless nobody0. @ven if $ dole out all that $ have to the poor in providing food, and if $ surrender my body to be burned or in order that $ may glory, but have not love -God?s love in me0, $ gain nothing. ,ove endures long and is patient and %ind/ love never is envious nor boils over with 3ealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. $t is not conceited -arrogant and inflated with pride0/ it is not rude -unmannerly0 and does not act unbecomingly. ,ove -God?s love in us0 does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self7see%ing/ it is not touchy or fretful or resentful/ it ta%es no account of the evil done to it -it pays no attention to a suffered wrong.0 $t does not re3oice at in3ustice and unrighteousness, but re3oices when right and truth prevail. ,ove bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures. ,ove never fails -never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end.0 A.2nd so faith, hope, love abide -faith7conviction and belief respecting man?s relation to god and divine things/ hopeB3oyful and confident eGpectation of eternal salvation/ loveBtrue affection for God and man, growing out of God?s love for and in us0, these three/ but the greatest of these is love. 'itus <!<7+ 2 wife of noble character who can findE She is worth far more than rubies. .er husband has full confidence in her and lac%s nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flaG and wor%s with eager hands. She is li%e the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dar%/ she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. She considers a field and buys it/ out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her wor% vigorously/ her arms are strong for her tas%s. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. $n her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and eGtends her hands to the needy. :hen it snows, she has no fear for her household/ for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She ma%es coverings for her bed/ she is clothed in fine linen and purple. .er husband is respected at the city gate, where he ta%es his seat among the elders of the land. She ma%es linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity/ she can laugh at the days to come. She spea%s with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. .er children arise and call her blessed/ her husband also, and he praises her! Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. #harm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting/ but a woman who fears the ,ord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her wor%s bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs &(!(*7&( -C$D0 6or where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil wor%. James &!(1 2nd let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up -stimulate and incite0 to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, not forsa%ing or neglecting to assemble together as

believers, as it is the habit of some people, but admonishing -warning, urging, and encouraging0 one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. .ebrew (*!< 7<+ 2nd he gave some, apostles/ and some, prophets/ and some, evangelists/ and some, pastors and teachers/ for the perfecting of the saints, for the wor% of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of #hrist! 'he husband should give to his wife her con3ugal rights -goodwill, %indness, and what is due her as his wife0 and li%ewise the wife to her husband. 6or the wife does not have eGclusive authority and control over her own body, but the husband has his rights/ li%ewise also the husband does not have eGclusive authority and control over his body, but the wife has her rights. Do not refuse and deprive and defraud each other of your due marital rights, eGcept perhaps by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves unhindered to prayer. 4ut afterwards resume marital relations, lest Satan tempt you to sin through you lac% of restraint of seGual desire. 4ut $ am saying this more as a matter of permission and concession, not as a command or regulation. We co##it our #arriage to -ou+ *ord+ that -ou 'ould cause our thoughts to beco#e agreeable 'ith -our 'ill and 'e 'ould ha.e success in our #arriage relationship. We agree to be /ind and tenderhearted to'ard each other according to -our 'ord+ forgi.ing one another and blessing one another. We choose to spea/ the truth in lo.e and listen 'ell to each other. 0a/e us strong 'here 'e are 'ea/+ *ord. ,elp us to pray together+ to trust in -ou and 'al/ in obedience to -our 'ord so that 'e #ay ha.e peace and 1oy in our #arriage. 2i.e us re.elation of -our great lo.e and an understanding of ho' to lo.e each other.
