The teacher asks the students to look at Word order exercise 2 in their Students Book, in which exercise they have to put the words in each sentence in the correct order using the given chart. Eg: He has beautiful, blue, Spanish eyes. Jane has long, straight, blonde hair.

The teacher presents the new language focus. The suffix ish is added to: a) An adjective, giving it the meaning of quite but not very (Greenish means quite green but not completely so. Tallish means quite tall, but not very tall.) b) Certain nouns, changing them into adjectives (child - childish, baby - babyish) When we add the suffix ish: 1. The final e is dropped: blue - bluish 2. The final consonant is doubled, if preceded by a short vowel: red - reddish O5 The students are asked to translate into Romanian some sentences that the teacher writes on the whiteboard. Eg: 1. Susan is very childish. 2. Mark seemed sick, his face was greenish. 3. For a young man, he has the most babyish voice I've heard. 4. This juice is rather sweetish. 5. A coldish wind blew unto the plain. 6. John is tallish for his ages. Presentation

Pre-reading activity: The teacher asks the students about words like range, buffalo, antelope and explains them if the students do not understand them. Reading activity: O6 The students read out loud the text from page 31, Home on the Range. While reading activity: The students solve exercise 5b, where they need to read the text and find the lines which suggest: a) People at home are encouraging (verse 1 + chorus) b) Home is pure and peaceful (verse 2) c) The land of the singers dreams is real (verse 3) Giving homework and assessment The teacher gives exercise 3a and 3b from the Students Book, as well as exercise 6 from the Texbook, as homework.
