The Face of Indian Politics - 2014

According to a recent World Bank report, the whole world is going through an unprecedented demographic transition and experiencing a 1.8 billion-powerful bout of the young and adolescent population in the global economy. Theres absolutely no way that India, a rapidly emerging economy on the global front could have remained untouched by this phenomenon; which could be seen making a mark in the recently held state assembly elections (2013), where the country and specially the capital sawan unexpected turnout of young and adolescent voters and for the very first time ever they accounted for almost one-third of the total voting population. It is being speculated widely, that because of the recently increasing youth participation in shaping up of Indian governance.

The youth is insinuating a youthful India. But the fact that this demand has not been made very explicit in terms of popularity only indicates that for bringing young political leaders of India in the helm. This might be because of the fact that this very youth has also witnessed a gradually crashing economic growth and an era of political. This makes them cautious about not choosing an amateur leader over a leader who has a lot of experience to offer. Moreover we can now monitor that young people in the Capital has commenced a discourse on eliminating corruption. Which has given rise to a whole new dimension to the picturesque view of elections on which the politicians were relying until now to charm Indias population? Thus, the trilogy of corruption, youth advent, and inflation are going to have an interesting interplay to mould the upcoming political scenario. The mood of the nation can also be seen touching the Maharashtras young political leaders. Recently the government recently launched a food security scheme at the Patni ground.

Reportedly, it looked more like an election campaign than a policy launch. With voters being persuaded to vote for the government for yet another term, and new political promises being connoted like bringing in a new metro project in Thane, etc; it appears that the government has started the campaign for the next elections already. Recently we have been noticing some great development in Maharashtra. Thanks to the Maharashtra politicians that are supporting this major growth. Not only this we have been seeing some phenomenal industrial growth, especially in the small scale industries. Furthermore, the government was recently found resorting to populist measures while voicing their anger against the exclusion of Mumbai from the state power-tariff cut. Though some recent developments by the incumbent government like acceptance of Adarsh report while ruling out action against the involved politicians have left the people questioning the extent to which corruption has pervaded in the business capital of the country. Maharashtra has acquired a whole new spirit with elections just around the corner.
