This is photo taken during segregation of segregated water fountains. I wanted to use this picture to show that they would not even allow blacks to use the same water fountain as whites. The black water fountain was nowhere near as the white water fountain. Jefferson School 6th Grade Class, 1928/29. N.d. Photograph. This was the Jefferson School 6th grade class photo from 1928/29. I used this photo to depict how segregated the school system was. The classes were all-black, and a black teacher. I chose to use this speech to show that people were starting to speak out against segregation. Brown v. I used this file because it displayed the amount of money that was spent on each white child and each black child. It showed how unfair and unequal their education really was. Segregated School Bus. This was a photograph of an all-black school bus being turned away on its way to the all-white Tuskegee High School. This is a photograph of an all-black class during the time of segregated education. I used this photo to show how the black and white were segregated in education, and to depict that they were not given the same quality education as the white children. Segregation in Schools. N.d. This photograph was of three boys from the segregation time period that did not want to go to school with black children. I used this to show that even the white children did not want to be anywhere near the black children, and that they did not treat them like people. This is a photo of parents of black school children protesting segregated education. I used this photo to show that parents and others started to stand up and speak out against segregated education. This photo is from the time period of segregation, and shows Lloyd Gaines who went to court and sued the University of Missouri law because they would not accept him because of his race. This is a photo taken during the time period of segregation, and is of Heman Sweatt. I used this photo in my project to show who Heman Sweatt was and how he played a part in helping end segregation. This is a photo of George McLaurin being forced to sit apart from the rest of the class, and it was taken during the same time period of segregation. The newspaper was telling that thanks to the Brown v. Board of Education court case, the court has ended segregation in schools.
