4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.
2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.
3 The tempter came to him and said, If you are the Son
of God, tell these stones to become bread.
4 Jesus answered, It is written: Man shall not live on bread
alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.[b]
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had
him stand on the highest point of the temple.
6 If you are the Son of God, he said,
throw yourself down. For it is written:
He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.[c]
7 Jesus answered him, It is also written:
Do not put the Lord your God to the test.[d]
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain
and showed him all the kingdoms
of the world and their splendor.
9 All this I will give you, he said,
if you will bow down and worship me.
10 Jesus said to him, Away from me, Satan! For it is written:
Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.[e]
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

* Next Sunday we begin the season of Lent. On Monday 3rd March we will have Ashes distribution for Mass at 8.30
am and 7.30pm
* Lent season retreat will be held on April 3, 4, 5 and 6 2014.
* There will be a pilgrimage to Holy Hill, Wisconsin on April12, 2014.
CYM will make necessary arrangements for this annual event
* Registration is closed for Marriage preparation classes that are scheduled to be held on March 7,8and 9th.

* All Altar servers and CML members retreat scheduled on Saturday March 1st here in the church is canclled
* During the time of Lent we will have Stations of the Cross prayers when we gather for Ward
prayers instead of Rosary prayers. No ward prayers will be held during Fridays in Lent season
* Every year we arrange a pilgrimage to Velamkanni Matha Oratory in Washington DC. This year it will be on May 31st Saturday.
* Our annual family Renewal convention will be held on J une 12th through 15th 2014
* A pilgrimage to Madjugorie and Rome is planning from September 29th through October 9th.
National Youth Coordinators
This weekend, Bishop Mar Jacob Angadiath has appointed a new team of national youth coordinators for
2014-2016. National Youth Coordinators, in collobration with Bishops and our Priests from every SyroMalabar
parish/mission, work together for our St. Thomas Diocese Youth Apostolate/DYA. Congratulations to Abin
Kuriakose, Tincy Maroor and Fiona Mohan for their appointment as SyroMalabar National Youth Coordinators
from the Midwest Region. May God Bless our Diocesan Youth Apostolate.
Obituary
Shoshamma Mathew Vekkal passed away in Nilambur, India this
Morning. She was 78 years old. She hails from the Keerikkad family
in Thiruvalla. She is survived by her husband Baby Mathew Vekkal,
daughter Anitha Emmanuel and son-in-law Emmanuel Kurian
Moolekudiyil (Manichen)(Chicago) ,son Deepu Mathew and
daughter-in-law Juby Deepu (Dubai). For more details, please

- Meeting of parents of grades 7 and 8 students at 9.40 AM on Sunday February 23, 2014: Venue: Alphonsa Hall
- March 2, 2014: Meeting of the parents of students receiving Holy Communion at 9.40 am in the Alphonsa Hall.
- March 2, 2014: picture day for the students receiving the Holy Communion. Photos of the students will be taken to display at the
church hall. Pictures will be taken during the Sunday school class hours.
