Chapter IV Product Spesification

4.1. List of metric After we got the data from respondents and made that data into needs that had been ranked. Of course, those needs are still at the form of qualitative data. It makes us difficult to design products that meet those needs. Because of the difficulty of interpreting the needs of the qualitative nature, for it is the goal Metric list to quantify needs in a quantity that can be measured. First step is by splitting needs to have a rank high enough value. We consider the needs of the grade 4 and 5 as necessary with a high enough value worthy to serve as a determinant of product specifications. After getting needs with the highest score, we interpret those needs into a scale. Table 4.1. 4.2. Benchmarking Existing Product Having obtained the needs that have been quantified as a specification, the next step is to collect, evaluate, and provide an assessment for various specifications of the products of competitors. The purpose of benchmarking is to find out the specifications which we can probably fix of products already on the market Table 4.2. 4.3. List of Specification Base on the value of existing benchmarking, things that can be improved from the existing products in the market. After benchmarking, the next step is to determine the specifications of the product to include the value of an ideal that is usually found in patent and marginal value or a value that is

acceptable to consumers. By knowing the ideal value and marginal value is there, then we can get a picture of the beginning or the concept of the product will be made. Table 4.3. List of Specification Need Number Metric Unit Own Score Marginal Value Ideal Value
