Explore: A Closer Look


Reading: This week we are reading The Revolutionary Swamp Fox
by Idella Bodie. This is a novel about the life of Revolutionary war hero Francis Marion. We will have a quiz on Friday on the Vocabulary cards and story comprehension. Also, remember read every night and encourage your child to stay focused on reading books for Accelerated Reader! Read each night and fill in the Reading Log. Remember it must be signed daily by a parent/guardian. Your child should be reading at least (minimum) 20 minutes each day. More than that is good too!

On Tuesday we will take the Geometry Unit Test. Wednesday we will begin our unit on measurement. This week and next week we will be learning to tell time. Students will learn to tell time to the minute.

Social Studies: Colonial S. C. and the Revolutionary War


We are winding up the Revolutionary War. Your child should know about the important battles that took place in South CarolinaSullivans Island, Kings Mountain, and Cowpens- as well as the important South Carolina people such as Thomas Sumter, Andrew Pickens, and Francis Marion. Make sure that your child is studying throughout the week for the test on Thursday, February 27.
