Activity: Marketing for LIS Team Members: Naveed Siddique(Assistant Librarian), Nasira Munir(Assistant Librarian), Aiman shahnawaz(Library Assistant)

Introduction: Activity of information specialist is started under the cover of LIS marketing. Basic purpose of this activity is to let the audience know about the services of LIS department and to facilitate the researchers and faculty members of certain departments by the certain LIS staff members. To educate new students about LIS services and rules it is partially included in this plan. Targets: 1. 2. New students for general library services guidance. Faculty for Information specialist service guidance.

Execution of the target 1: Homework: Developed brochures, leaflets and flexes for the purpose. Chalked out a plan in our meetings to hit the maximum number and what to be delivered.

Task: We visited our respective departments for the task and established our desks with the help of department staff. We guided all the students specially the new comers about the library, library rules and its services. We displayed the flexes containing LIS services to attract the students towards LIS desk. We hook up with students to inform them about their library registration and other services and library rules. We also listened to the old students queries and tried to manage them at the spot, rest were guided towards the LIS department. Response: The response from new students was not up to our expectations but we tried our level best to convey our message. In the end of the day we were able to accomplish the task to some extent. Execution of the target 2: Homework: Developed brochures and feedback forms for the purpose. Got all services request forms ready to be carried out. Chalked out a plan in our meetings about what to be offered.

Task: We visited available concerned faculty members in faculty block for the task. We delivered the feedback forms to the faculty members to know their views about LIS and their research needs. In general we asked the faculty about the proficiency of Library Information Services. We offered different services request forms if the certain faculty was not availing them before, like Turn it in and VPN request forms and encouraged them to use these services and made them realize about the importance of these services. We got research form filled from faculty by which we could know about their research areas and their research needs so we can enhance our resources for them. We encouraged them to share their views about LIS department, our services and complaints.

Response: The response from Faculty was very warm. Our motivation level grew up after visiting them. They shared their views, experiences and suggestions with us. We tried to solve some of their issues at the spot. We have received many filled up feedback forms. These healthy signs show that faculty will cooperate with us to make Information specialist service successful in the long run.
