Short course in Cyber Security

This course is designed to provide participants with knowledge and skills on effective designing and implementing security measures for and on information systems, administering secured systems, perform risk assessment to safe guide their ICT assets, conduct research in the field of ICT security, perform penetration testing and develop ICT security policies. In the end of the training participants are expected to have understood the use of different tools for penetration testing, administer systems, systems auditing as well as secure coding, They will also acquire all necessary knowledge and skills that it takes to sitting for ICT security certifications. Target group This training is relevant to middle and technical level ICT management. It is therefore designed to accommodate systems analysts and designers, database developers, and network managers. It is also appropriate to fresh IT and Computer Science graduates who are interested in cyber security field. The training is also most useful for those intending to sit for certification on ICT security. Facilitation and Certification The course will be facilitated by Jim Yonazi (PhD) and Martin Lyuba (MSc Computer Security, CCNA, RHSA, and RHCE) both from IFM. A certificate of achievement will be awarded by the Institute of Finance Management after completion of the course. Venue and Dates This training is intended to be held at the premises of the Institute of Finance management (IFM) located along Shaaban Robert Street in Dar es Salaam. Date: 24th March 2014 18th April, 2014; Monday to Friday starting at 1700hrs to 2000hrs. Fees A fee of TZS 1,500,000/= will be charged to cover registration and access to all course materials.
