to be placed in front of Commerce Grinding at 635 Fort Worth Avenue, Dallas, Texas. This is a open call to any and all artists 18 years of age or older who are encouraged to submit their idea(s) for consideration.
REQUIREMENTS
Art installation must be permanent in nature with a longevity of at least 5 years from date of installation Art installation must incorporate a Carlton Radial Drill (see photo) donated by Commerce Grinding as the foundation for embellishment by the artist/artist team Artist(s) must be 18 years of age or older to submit proposal(s) Artist(s) must provide a letter of interest for the project describing their approach toward the installation. Please include a description of the intended scale, materials to be used and any proposed requirements for long term (5 years) maintenance and care of the art piece Artist must submit rendering(s) of proposed installation in the form of drawings, photographs, 3D model or other visual presentation of the proposed work for review by the selection panel There is no required fee for submissions
BUDGET $5,000.00
Budget must include: all materials, supplies, and labor required for embellishment fabrication secure installation by artist/artist team & Commerce Grinding team all necessary safety modifications to property as appropriate

Awarding of project to 1 of 3 finalists, 1st check in the amount of $3000.00 presented to award winner
SELECTION PROCESS
An independent selection panel of local arts professionals chaired by Ms Kay Kallos, Office of Dallas Cultural Affairs to review all submissions and recommend 3
Installation site is in front of the Commerce Grinding offices; intersection of Ft. Worth avenue & Beaver street. Commerce Grinding would like to extend the opportunity for all submitting artists to tour the facility on 2/22/2014 at 10:00 a.m. in an effort to better understand the nature of the Commerce Grinding business and to view the radial drill machine (artists canvas) up close as it relates to the artists installation vision.
FINALISTS
Great attention is paid to include a diverse ethnic and gender neutral panel All entries are viewed anonymously (artists identities are not disclosed) during the first round of viewing by the selection committee FWADG board members may be present at the closed selection sessions to observe, however FWADG board members have no voting authority The 3 finalists will receive a stipend of $100 each to create a small mock up or detailed illustration of their installation vision which they will present in person to the selection panel at 10:00 a.m. on May 3, 2014
