Creating a VS Plug-In Update CD (PC/MAC)

After you have updated the operating system on your VS unit, installed the VS8F-3 card, and installed the VS Plug-Ins (Roland and/or Third-Party Plug-Ins) from the original installation CDs, you may also need to install updated versions of those Plug-Ins from CDs that you create. These updated versions contain enhancements for the various Plug-Ins on all VS models, and can provide compatibility with the VS-1680/1880/1824 Legacy models for use with certain Third-Party Plug-Ins. You will have to burn a separate CD for each PLUG-IN UPDATE file that you want to install. For example, if you purchased the T-Racks VS plug-in along with the VS8F-3 card and the included Roland Plug-Ins, you will have to create a separate CD for the Roland Plug-Ins update and a separate CD for the T-Racks VS Plug-In Update when new Plug-in updates are available for each respective Plug-In. In order to burn VS Series Plug-In files correctly so that your VS will read the CDs that you make, you will have to use CD burning software on your Windows XP computer that can burn a DATA CD as ISO 9660 Level (Mode) 1. The Windows XP CD burning software built into the OS will not burn the ISO 9660 format. Also, the MacOS X burning application Disc Burn will not burn the ISO 9660 format either. If you have some CD burning software that you would like to use but are unsure if it will write that format correctly, refer to the softwares manual. There are also several pieces of software offered as freeware or trialware that will burn ISO 9660 Level 1 that you can find and download on the Internet. Below are web links and burning instructions for several of them.
