Audio editing has never been so intuitive, easy and quick. WaveLab 3.0s Audio-Montage Window represents a new dimension in file handling. Complete audio files and smaller extracts both appear in the Audio-Montage Window as Clips. Any number of clips can be placed on any number of different tracks, moved, cut and faded in or out. Clips can overlap one another with cross-fades generated automatically the curves are displayed in the actual waveform, and can be adjusted as often as you like. A revolutionary new process allows clips to be positioned so that phase cancellation doesnt occur in the cross-fade regions. All fades are instantly audible no actual fade files have to be created and calculated first. Whats more, all work in the Audio-Montage Window is 100% non-destructive, with unlimited Undo/Redo.
In the new Audio-Montage Window, audio clips can be arranged non-destructively and in real time on as many tracks as you like.
Cross-fades are generated simply by sliding two clips together. Each part of the curve is adjustable and can be auditioned in real time.
Up to 10 VST effects can be assigned to each clip. The Send automation is displayed with its own flexible curve.
A Perfect Overview What makes the Audio-Montage Window so unique is its graphic interface. The entire waveform of a clip is always visible, even when the clip is being moved. When two clips are overlapped, both waveforms are displayed one on top of the other. The waveforms automatically adapt, in real time, to the insertion of fades and crossfades. Everything is clearly laid out using a filing card system with tabs for navigating between the different areas of functionality. This way you can stay in the Audio-Montage environment and avoid having to constantly switch between numerous other windows. Editing in WaveLab 3.0 is now done within the waveform itself. Moving the mouse to and from the toolbar, and constantly switching tools are things of the past. Instead, hot spots on the actual clip indicate the respective mouse functions and context menus. Volume and panning can be automated for each clip, and up to 10 VST Plug-In effects applied: the Effect Send can also be automated. Its only when a clip is played back that its attached PlugIns actually use CPU power. The total combination of tracks is routed through the Master Section where a further six real-time effects (DirectX, WaveLab or VST) can also be added.
