An overall satisfaction rating is displayed on the consumer websites (www.QualityService.org and www.RatedAgent.com) where buyers and sellers have the ability to select a real estate professional based upon each agents validated record of service satisfaction. Nothing is more important to a prospective client in selecting a professional than the service results achieved with past clients, said Larry D. Romito, president and CEO of QSC. Consumers have greater confidence in service reliability, results and satisfaction with a Quality Service Certified real estate professional because they know that the agents service record has been validated by an independent third party. 100 percent service satisfaction record for the fourth year in a row like Scott Thompson has achieved is just awesome.

re you aging successfully? According to research the definition of successful aging means more than simply remaining alive, however that is the first basic requirement. According to an article entitled Exercise to Age Well, Whatever your age by Gretchen Reynolds, NYTimes, Jan. 29, 2014; successful aging involves minimal debility past the age of 65 or so, with little or no serious chronic disease diagnoses, depression, cognitive decline or physical infirmities that would prevent someone from living independently. As we know there are many factors that contribute to successful aging; healthy eating, staying out of the sun, not smoking, sleeping well, moderate alcohol consumption, preventative medical exams, etc. Did you know that people with greater economic resources tend to develop fewer health problems later in life than people who are not well off? Im sure its because having economic resources make it easier to take advantage of the many health habits that add to the successful aging equation. In a study out of Australia, consisting of 12,000 men between the ages of 65-83, found that those who engaged in about 30 minutes of exercise five or so times

when the researchers took into account smoking, wealth and other factors. Finally, in a 2009 study of more than 2,000 middle-aged men found that those who started to exercise after the age of 50 were far less likely to die during the next 35 years than those who were and remained sedentary. The reduction in mortality associated with increased physical activity was similar to that associated with smoking cessation, the researchers concluded. The take home message from this article is that exercise affects both life span and life quality. As we all know, it truly isnt about living longer once we surpass that middle part of our life. Its about living better. The research supports that those who exercise regularly live better than those who are not active, and it

doesnt matter when you start exercising. Exercise will always make your remaining years better. The exercise used in the London study qualified 1 hour of per week of moderate or vigorous activity; We used an hour a week of gardening, cleaning, walking at a moderate pace and dancing, said Mark Hamer, the researcher who led this study. One hour a week? This offers hope and encouragement to many adults who have somehow neglected to exercise for the past few decades. Research continues to suggest and support that becoming physically active in middle age, even if youve been sedentary for years, reduces the likelihood of serious illness and physical disability. I say we all need to focus on aging successfully. Exercise will do that.

Truth in fiction writing course offered at senior center

hy do some stories touch the heart while others spark the intellect? According to writing instructor, Patricia Nelson, This question is complicated and exciting because each of us is capable of producing these narratives. We need only the desire, tools and courage to let them come to light. Id like to invite you to join us for a course in writing true fiction. Pat is offering a new sixweek course called Truth in Fiction Writing, on Wednesdays, April 2 through May 7 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Estes Park Senior Center, 220 Fourth Street. The cost

Epitaph for a Peach featured in March Book Club

and while advance reading of the book is encouraged, interested individuals who have not read the book are also welcome to attend. A limited number of copies are available at the library, courtesy of the Salud Family Health Centers Foundation The book follows Masumotos yearlong attempt not just to keep his Sun Crest [peaches] alive, writes the San Francisco Chronicle, but to farm a new way, working with and not clear to him from the start against, nature. Advance registration for the free March 18 program may be made at estesvalleylibrary.org. For more information about the event, contact Chazz Glaze at Salud at (970) 577-3461 or cglaze@saludclinic.org, or Kurtis Kelly at the library at (970) 586-8116 x 814.
