A+ SCHOOL DRIVEN BY
CHILDRENS NEEDS
Dear Canyon View Families,
I hope everyone had a nice Rodeo Break and that you were able to spend some time with
family and friends. Today, report cards are being sent home with your child. If you have any
questions regarding your childs progress or the information contained in the report please
contact your childs teacher and they will be happy to review the information with you.
This month, we have three important events taking place around campus. First, Dr. Seuss
week begins on Monday, March 3. To honor Dr. Seuss, we have several dress-up days and fun
events planned throughout the week. This was a big hit last year with our students and staff,
and were excited to do it all over again! Detailed information will be emailed out this
weekend!
On Friday, March 7 students will be bringing home their Math Madness packets. Our goal
this year is to begin to raise enough funds to purchase and install a new shade structure for
our kindergarten playground. We have partnered with Community Schools to help fund this
important two-year project, and we need our entire communitys support to reach our lofty
goals. Please be looking for the Math Madness packets next Friday, and we thank you in
advance for supporting our school!
On Friday, March 14, we will be on half-day schedule due to spring conferences.
Kindergarten Plus through 5
th
grade will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., while regular
kindergarten (half day) will be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. Since it is only a half-day, teachers
generally plan on holding conferences with just a few families. Each grade level has a
separate conference plan that suits their grade level conguration. If your childs teacher(s)
feel that a conference is needed you should be hearing from them in the coming days. If you
do not hear from them, but would still like to have a conference, please do not hesitate to
contact your childs teachers.

Finally, our annual Coyote Wellness Walk will be held on March 22 at 7:00 a.m. Our
Wellness Walk will again be taking place in Sabino Canyon, and students, families and
friends are all invited to join in on the fun. Stay tuned for more information in the
coming days.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely
Rob Henikman
Principal

Notication of Pest Control
State Law (House Bill 2135, Chapter 102)
requires the school district to notify
parents, legal guardians, and employees
48 hours prior to pest/weed control
treatments.
In accordance with these requirements,
Essential Pest, vendor for pesticide
treatment, will visit our school once month
to inspect building exteriors, kitchen
areas, and restrooms, and to perform pest
control treatments of those areas, as
required. Our current pest control program
does not include pesticide
applications inside classrooms. Such
applications are performed only if
infestation
occurs. Essential Pest will treat Canyon
View on the third Tuesday of each month.
Additional information may be obtained
from the Environmental Health and Safety
Ofce at the district ofce at 299-6446.

If you or someone you know would like to donate to the silent auction, please use

solicitation letters to our most frequent donors, but your personal touch with a
favorite business can make a big difference in the number of items we can offer at

tell them they are very popular! We also welcome donations of items you have or
buy to donate to the auction. All items should be turned in to the front office by

100% of the Silent Auction proceeds stay at Canyon View to directly benefit our
