T-ACE II+ is a highly flexible automatic blood component extractor for the standardized processing of centrifuged blood according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Versatility The device is designed to be used with all common bag systems of the top-and-bottom (TAB) and top-and-top (Conventional) type with or without inline filter(s). Processing protocols allow a wide range of separation procedures for the first and second separation (RBC, PRP, BC, PPP, PC). Superb flexibility is achieved with the use of 11 programs, programmable by external PC, stored on the devices motherboard. Each program is based on 4 protocols that can be optimally adapted to customers needs by different parameters and powerful subroutines. Special subroutines are available for procedures like air removal of filtered whole blood, aliquoting (Conventional procedure), diluted BC etc. Reliability and Safety

The correct positioning of tubes and bags, the opening of CLIKTIPS, and the flow of fluids are, based on the selected protocol, checked automatically. Clear operator instructions are given on the new graphical color display. The automated and microprocessor-monitored process is visualised schematically on the color display. Component, flow, component weights, clamp positions, sealing functions and flows are actively indicated by color changes. After finishing the process and in case of an error, the T-ACE II+ will give an audible signal and the operation indicator is activated. Terumos unique top angled pneumatic press is designed for a smooth start of the extraction process keeping layers stable. Pure components are guaranteed with a sharp detection of layers done by an intelligent interaction of the flow regulator and 11 optical sensors.

Data Management
TOMEs is an operational data management system that can be used with some Terumo Transfusion Equipment. By using TOMEs all GMP important separation data (e.g. net weight of components, date, time, barcode scans, events, etc.) are recorded and transferred via a wired (RJ-45 Ethernet) or wireless (WiFi) network. The separation data can be used to define specific production files for the customers Blood Bank Data Management System. Bi-directional communication with TOMEs allows the parameter setting of one or several T-ACE II+ devices, the automatic use of pre-defined separation protocols for each bag (if a separation file is defined), and the monitoring of active devices.
