TIPS Ri+,t Mou!e #utton Try right-clicking on e'erythingG ,onteBt menus are a'ailable throughout Adobe Audition. Mo-in+ Wa-e #.o'/! To mo'e audio )a'e blocks in the "ultitrack 'ie), simply right-click on the block and drag in the desired direction.

S'(o..in+ and 0oo1in+ ,lick and drag on any ruler to scroll in that direction. !ight click on any ruler and drag to 9oom to that area. %o'/in+ Windo ! All of Adobe AuditionFs )indo)s can be docked and resi9ed. Just click on the double lines in each )indo) to mo'e it. The )hite line sho)s you )here the )indo) )ill float or dock )hen you let go of the mouse. f you )ant to force the )indo) to not dock, hold the ,ontrol key. f you )ant to restore the application to its default layout, go to 1ptions 4 .ettings 4 %eneral and select !estore *efault (indo) Hayouts. 2o( Mo(e Ti3!4 n Adobe Audition go to &elp 4 Tip of the *ay.

5NOWN ISSUES 5ee3in+ P(e)e(en'e! ,en Rein!ta..in+ To reinstall Adobe Audition and retain preferences, either reinstall from the Adobe Audition application ,*, or use the Add or !emo'e Programs ,ontrol Panel and click ,hange. 3 f you click !emo'e, all files are remo'ed, including preferences.5 &% E6t(a'tion 7Ri33in+8 Problems encountered )hile eBtracting audio from ,* may be related to the 'ersion of the A.P layer installed on your system. &ere are the symptoms of an A.P -related problem-

$sing #ile 4 =Btract Audio from ,* allo)s you to choose the ,*-!1" dri'e from )hich
to rip, but no tracks sho) up in the tracks list e'en though an audio ,* is in your dri'e. A.P stands for Ad'anced .,. Programming nterface. A.P is a dri'er layer that operates bet)een soft)are and the ,*-! hard)are. A.P is included )ith (indo)s ;<.= and (indo)s "=. A.P is not included )ith (indo)s 2000 and >P. Adaptec pro'ides a generic A.P support layer. 7ased on our testing and user feedback, 'ersion 8.? )orked )ith most de'ices. *ri'er 'ersions bet)een 8.C0 and 8.CA ha'e been kno)n to cause problems. #or the latest dri'ers and information about the Adaptec A.P layer, go to the Adaptec )eb site- ))).adaptec.com. Note: The Adaptec site states that their ASPI layer is a generic driver and may not work with all devices. They recommend that users contact their peripheral manufacturer if the ASPI layer does not work. 1ne potential )orkaround for (indo)s 2000 and (indo)s >P is to use .PT 3.,. Pass Through nterface5 instead of A.P for ,* eBtraction. To change this setting, 1pen Audition and go to 1ptions 4 .ettings and click on the .ystem Tab. $nder ,* *e'ice 1ptions, select .PT and then click 12. Note: Windows !S" and Windows #" do not support SPTI. f changing to .PT does not )ork, or causes other problems )ith Audition ,* eBtraction, you can undo the change described abo'e and attempt to install a different 'ersion of the A.P layer. #or the latest information on this issue, go to the Adobe ,ustomer .upport site-
