From the theories of demandsupply to changing inflation trends, every topic has a financial impact beyond the pages of the books which I want to discover. In my 12th grade, I was awarded the Shresth Puraskar for achieving proficiency in Economics. I am an extremely result oriented person. Problem solving and analysis generate a great fervor in me. This has helped me avidly in doing my economics projects during my school and college days. Such skills gravely help me enjoy my passion for the subject Economics. I scored 94% in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination, with highest score in Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies (95%) thus ensuring admission in one of the most prestigious and leading colleges in Delhi University (Sri Venkateswara College). Through perseverance and hard work, I have been on the Honours list nearly every year. I scored 74% in my final year. I was selected by Deloitte TTL as a consultant in the college itself who placed me in Enterprise Risk Services at Hyderabad. I work in Internal Audit. I handled Business Process Testing and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance for large healthcare and financial services clients. Currently I am working for UBS, a major banking SOX client of Europe. This project has helped me come face to face with the intricacies of all finance and banking work-streams like Wealth Management, Investment Banking (Operations and Finance), Global Asset Management and Human Resources. Working through the client office, this project has helped me

understand the international financial operations of big companies. I believe that the time is now ripe for me to take the next step towards my career. After my work experience, I believe this is the right stage for me to pursue Masters and gain good knowledge of the Economics.

5 years down the line, I see myself working in an international organization as an economist. LSE will provide me a solid foundation in Economics with complete depth of knowledge on its various elements. From the prices in a superstore to the stock indices on the trading floor, there is a need to understand the underlying market forces that control the decision making in businesses across the globe. The economic bubbles and the subprime crisis have intrigued me to learn more about the theories and principles of Economics. In my undergraduate studies, I studied Economics all throughout and every little concept has a broader impact on the economy at large which made me delve into this subject even more. As an economist, every day I shall delve into research of changing trends in the crucial matters of money and economic policies. My knowledge would help me predict future trends in the economic world. It would require me to have analytical bent of mind with in depth knowledge to gain the ability to predict impact of any policy. This work requires determination and perseverance towards one particular field which fascinates me and would help me grow intellectually. In my high school I did a project on carbon trading as a part of the curriculum, where I learnt how to apply simple techniques of microeconomics in the sphere of environment policy and conservation.

A Masters in Economics from a premier institute like LSE would serve as a perfect platform to kick-start my career in the field of economics.
