Make Firefox run up to 4 times faster

Firefox is an excellent and already fast browser but can be made to run up to 4 times faster I kid you not. If you are using Internet Explorer please change to Firefox now. Also if you are using an old ersion you should upgrade. !ownload here.

Adjust your configurations

"hese settings are for those that are browsing a lot# ha e broadband and are using many tabs. "hese are my recommended settings# feel of course free to ad$ust as you see fit for you. %pen a new tab and write about:config in the &'( window. )opy and paste the *reference +ames below in the filter field and then double click on the name. ,alues of false will then change to true and ice ersa. If it is a number field you will need to insert the new number.

change to 10 -default. /01

+umber of days to keep browser history. "his helps performance by reducing the amount of information that must be kept in memory while the browser is running. 'ead more.

(imits the maximum number of pages stored in memory in such a way that they don4t ha e to be re2parsed when pressing 5ack and Forward. If you# like me# are not using the 5ack and Forward buttons that much but rather tabs then I see no reason for Firefox to keep a lot of memory with this. 'ead more.

Check for pro lematic extensions

Extensions can leak memory and ha e a negati e effect on the performance of Firefox.

&ninstall extensions you are not using. )heck the list of problematic extensions and either uninstall or disable while not in use. Extensions should also be disabled while not in use.

If you want you can also block flash as flash is C$ust e ilD. Eust install the Flash5lock extension. And if there is any flash that you anyway want to see $ust click the button and it will start. "hen# restart Firefox and experience how much faster it is.
