YOGA: This class works to develop the physical body with strength, stamina and flexibility; the emotional body with stability, confidence and discernment; the mental body with awareness, concentration and focus. The result is physical, emotional, and mental tranquility, enabling one to completely relax while feeling strong, confident and aware. Focus on waking up from the inside out. SUNRISE YOGA: This class gently awakens mind and body with stretches and postures to open the heart and muscles. This flow yoga class begins with sun salutations and ends with gentle stretching, often incorporating Tai Chi and Pilates. PILATES FUSION: Combining Yoga and pilates in this mind/body class, you will use a variety of equipment and your own body weight to gain body awareness, flexibility and strength in this unique workout. PiYo STRENGTH: A fitness fusion of Pilates and Yoga formats, which combines the benefits of both practices into a class designed to increase your strength and flexibility. This class is great for beginners and advanced enthusiasts alike! TAI CHI: Tai Chi consists of fluid, gentle and graceful movements that will aid in visual and mental concentration, relaxing the body and allowing energy to flow through your body. These techniques help to integrate the body and mind, and allow the achievement of total harmony. SPORT YOGA: Keep your heart rate elevated while toning your whole body and increasing your flexibility in this athletic and dynamic format! Classes incorporate challenging body weight exercises, mixed with various pieces of equipment for a twist that will always keep your body guessing! ZUMBA: Love to dance? This class, inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa, cha-cha, samba, reggaeton, and meringue music is a fun and effective way to improve your cardiovascular fitness! This class pairs pulsating Latin rhythms with red hot dance steps! Fun for all fitness levels! Hip Hop HUSTLE : This one hour class is a completely pre-designed hip-hop dance class thats easy to follow, allowing you to relax and take the fun factor up a notch with super hot moves and great new music that will have everyone wanting more! NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!! TURBOKICK: TURBOKICK is an addictive workout that combines athletic moves, kickboxing, and hip-hop flavor in a party atmosphere. TURBOKICK is an interval based class that allows participants of any fitness level to join in the fun. Each new workout is more exciting, sexy, powerful and effective than the last! Come join the party! CYCLE EXPRESS: Need a quick workout? Try this 30 minute spin class that will be sure to keep your heart rate up to burn more calories and make you sweat! GROUP CYCLE: Get ready for this high-energy, low impact workout on a stationary bike. Combine an intense calorie burn with an electric group atmosphere to experience an incredible, 60 minute cardiovascular workout! This workout is both safe and fun for all ability levels.

This low impact class features a heart-pounding cardiovascular workout that is safe and fun for all ability levels! WATER POWER: Maximize your water-based workout with this cardio conditioning class. Incorporating lap swim, kicking, water running, and water weights, you will raise your heart rate and have fun! Basic swimming skills required. AQUA ZUMBA: Bring the Zumba party to the pool! Integrating the Zumba formula with traditional water fitness, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe and FUN workout thats cardio conditioning, body toning, and exhilarating.

Letters are to help participants have a better feel for the intensity of the class, but all group fitness classes are instructed with modifications to meet all participants fitness levels.

University Recreation will host selected Group Fitness class reservations online. Spots for our more popular classes will be available online prior to class. Go to the University Recreation homepage at http://urec.uark.edu to see if the class that you wish to take appears on the Hot Class list. If the class you wish to take appears on this list, online reservations are required. If the class that you wish to take does NOT appear on that list, walk-up check-in will be used.
