Specials Schedule This Week Monday (E Day) PE Tuesday (A Day) Health Wednesday (B Day) PE Thursday (C Day) Music Friday (D Day) Art Report Cards Report cards will go home Tuesday, March 18th which is the day before our Parent Teacher Conferences. Spring Pictures Spring pictures are this Thursday, March 13th, 2014. Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten Registration is March 20th from 6-8 p.m. in the Grand Prairie gym. If you are not able to make that day or time please call Nancy for an appointment at 815-436-7000. Multiplication Facts Students should be practicing their multiplication facts at LEAST ten minutes a day. Students will begin taking their timed tests this week. They will start at 0 and once they have mastered that fact, will move on to the next one. Part of the third grade curriculum requires students to be solid in their multiplication facts. We have several resources for students to practice these skills on our class website here: http://www.mrskulagas3rd.com/mathresources.html

Shoe Box Book Report Please note that the Shoe Box Book Reports are due tomorrow, Monday, March 10th, 2014. Students will start presenting them in class this week Yearbook Information Order forms have been sent home with your children. Additional Order forms are available at school. Yearbooks are $16.00 and the order deadline is March 21st.

This Weeks Curriculum
Shared Reading Students will be presenting their Shoe Box Book Reports during Shared Reading this week. Science We will be starting our new Science unit on Weather/The Water Cycle. This weeks lessons will cover landforms and the water cycle. Writing This week in writing we will wrap up our grammar, including adverbs, pronouns and prepositions. Next, students will work on a persuasive letter. Spelling Regular word study will resume this week. Math Students will continue to work on their math assessment this week. Once those are completed, we will be moving on to our next math unit, geometry. Topics covered this week will include lines, line segments, angles, polygons, and triangles.
