Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. Benjamin Franklin I grew up watching my mom teaching inside the classroom; Ive heard how she makes her voice loud just to keep her students quiet. I also witnessed how she stays long at night just to finish her Visual Aids and Lesson Plans. Since then, Ive made a promise to myself that I will not take an education course, so I dreamt to become a Philippines renowned journalist but destiny played on me and brought me to the world of teaching. I have no idea why and how it happened but Im thankful fate did it. Instead of writing news stories and becoming an essential source of information, I have now a vocation of cultivating and becoming an influence in the lives of the Filipino youth. I am called to be a teacher and sent into the world to accomplish a mission, to touch lives and to teach. When I first thought about off campus or practice teaching, I went through many emotions. It started with an excitement because it means that I was so close to graduation. I had so many questions running through my mind too; what would I need to do first? How can I get along with my students and my cooperating teacher? What did I need to do to become comfortable in my new environment? But as time goes by all of my questions have been answered and my experiences went above and beyond any expectations I had in the beginning. I learned more than I ever imagined. I have come to realize I could not have had a better experience than the one I had at Caloocan High School.

It is so safe to say that the best part of my college years were spent with my students during my practice teaching days. I honestly had no idea how to handle a real class and how could I apply everything that I have learned in the classroom. All I had with me was the willingness to learn and share what I have learned. But for me, Practice Teaching or off campus was the immersion into the real world of school that prepares us in making the transition from trainee to professional.

For us Practice Teachers whos preparing to enter the professions, I believe that
providing real teaching experiences will empower us to be prepared for the actual teaching profession. All the learnings that we learnt from our mentors and supervisors as well as our own experiences will serve as our guide in the path of teaching. Their comments, suggestions, constructive criticism, and words of encouragement for us will make us optimum future teacher. We all know that we learn from our own mistakes and experiences. If youre not better this time, tomorrow is another chance to shine. We must put into our minds that theres always a room for improvement wherein we learn through training and practices. Let us not be afraid to be corrected and given a piece of advice from our Critic Teacher because they want to help us to improve ourselves. As I stated previously, I had the best student teaching experience imaginable. I had a wonderful support system of my co-student teachers, Maam Danica Camacho and Maam Mary Rose Cantoria, along with superb cooperating teacher, Mr. Joven T. Sanchez and an amazing University Supervisor, Prof. Marilou M. Ubia. I learned how to manage my classroom, and make my students feel comfortable.

Teaching is unlike any other profession. Teachers are constantly learning how to
improve on their skills. For every student you encounter, you will learn something from them. Whether it be a new teaching strategy or a life lesson, you never stop learning. I am more excited about teaching after my fabulous experience at Caloocan High School.

Whenever we go out, there would always be someone who would greet my Mom and says Hi Maam, How are you? Maam, Can you still remember me? Hello Maam! You are my great teacher way back and every time I hear those words theres a piece of me that keep me pushing into the world of teaching. I used my mom as my great inspiration because I love the way students regard her despite decades of passing through her tutelage. She was passionate about what she did. Added to this story was when all my aunts and cousins took an education course too. I couldnt have any vindications to this fate because from the start I know that teaching really runs through our

blood.
Choosing Philippine Normal University as my trainer helps me to be as ready as soldiers before going to a battle. Thus Im very thankful that PNU enhanced us better before letting us go and explore the real world of teaching thats why I know to myself that I have the best selfconfidence before facing my students since PNU trained us by means of different classroom activities like reporting, demo teaching, speech and many more. I also have this good sense of humor that Im using to get my students heart not just their attention and concomitant to this is my Cheerful heart in performing each task I have.

When talking about my Professional Orientation, I could say that I used to be responsible for ones behaviour and learnt to deal well with students, peers, parents, CT, school and community official since my CT permitted me to talk to parents during Report Card distribution whenever they have complains and allowed me to attend meetings, conference or any other faculty assembly just to meet some of my colleagues. He also requested me to get along with our Maintenance group nor even to our Guards since we meet each other almost every day. When it comes to lesson planning, since Ive experienced a lot of activities in PNU which required us to make a Detailed Lesson Plan, it became so easy for us to make a lesson plan even we are required to pass lesson plan every day, this readiness are very evident even when you talk about the instruction or instructional strategies, we could cope up in different situations well face. Classroom management was also an integral part of the teaching process. Having a conducive classroom atmosphere, being able to keep performance records well and controlled student discipline are the most important things a teacher should learn how to provide the students all the time.
