Our experiences with Balanced Sitting taught us that students who are allowed to move in a controlled fashion during instruction and group work collaborate better, are less distracted and have less physical complaints. Our goal with the new SEED Minicollection was to take these findings and implement them in a seating solution for our youngest learners, who are more than any other age group vulnerable to the health consequences of inadapted furniture and bad postures. This new line focuses on dynamic movement, interaction, ergonomics for all users (including the teacher), in a form factor tuned for the young, yet which will appeal to all. Early childhood education typically revolves around various forms of discovering and learning, taking place in different areas of the learning environment. This will also require our generation to take its responsibility and make daily choices that respect the environment and the generations that will follow. The 100% recyclable SEED Mini collection was designed with optimal End Of Life disassembly in mind, and uses responsible materials such as aluminium, FSC certified wood and wood-plastic components. As an added benefit, these features and the durability of the chosen materials also drastically reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of this furniture program.

MOVEMENT MATTERS
Movement is key to turn our children on to learning. The ergonomic comfort of the SEED Mini collections Balanced Sitting shell and frame foster movement while being seated, while the raised chair frame eliminates the difference between seated and standing activities, which are very common in these age groups

INTERACTIVE
Mobility within the learning environment fosters interaction and blended learning activities such as guided learning, self paced learning and social learning. The raised frame of the SEED Mini chair gives learners the ability to rearrange the learning environment as needed quickly and without hassle, as it enriches all types of learning through the enhanced eye contact between all parties involved. The eye contact creates an inspiring atmosphere, that eliminates all discrimination and makes the stakeholders partners in the learning process.

INTEGRATED
The SEED Mini collection works well with our other solutions for your learning environment. Complete the layout with mobile whiteboard cabinets and other storage options, an interactive floor projection unit, a touch display, Integrated sound dampening and light weight make sure mobility isnt just a theoretic feature, and can be achieved without nerve-wrecking chaos even when used by the youngest learners. The SEED Mini collection also knows its place: you will appreciate the integrated stackability when switching to a more open, whole-class layout for fun and games.

INSPIRING
The SEED Mini collection inspires by empowerment and advanced ergonomics: in line with constructivist and self directed learning approaches, toddlers can move their chair freely around the learning environment without the help of a facilitator. The raised frame model even lets pupils decide whether to sit or stand, all the while maintaining eye level contact between seated and standing pupils and the seated facilitator. When seated, learners enjoy the lasting, back saving comfort of balanced sitting.

childhoodbecause they need the physical release. The average school chair offers comfort, but in one prescribed position: sitting still, perfectly erect, toward the back of the seat. In practice, learners whose bodies are growing and developing will not sit like that for minutes on end, let alone for several hours a day. They start to fidget, their muscles ache, and they become distracted. With the SEED Mini collection we wanted to create a chair that actually encourages movement. FUNCTIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
1. ERGONOMICS a. Raised frame with ergonomic footrest encourages movement and alternating between sitting and standing. b. Double curved seat improves sitting posture of toddlers, encourages a balanced sitting posture and improves blood circulation in the body, removing distractions because of discomfort and resulting in better concentration. c. Raised frame reduces back strain for Early Childhood facilitators. d. Raised desk height corresponds with normal adult desk height, allowing Early childhood facilitators to use their own ergonomic chairs. e. User centered design. The weight (approximately 50% of a similar standard chair) allows toddlers to use the chair independently in all aspects (moving, stacking, without assistance).
