Triangle Exploration

Directions:
You are going to be making at least three different types of triangles (scalene,
equilateral, isosceles, acute, obtuse, or right). Once you have your triangles created you
will measure the interior angles of the triangles to find the sum of the interior angles
and you will measure all the side lengths. After you have found all the sums you will try
to come to a conclusion about all triangles.
Some tips for creating figures

To create a segment:
- Click the third drop down menu.
- Choose Segment
- Click in two places to make you segment

To create congruent segments:
- Select Segment with a Given Length from the third drop down menu.
- Click for a point.
- Enter a length 1-10.
- Do this again but when you click for your point use the right end point.
- You are creating congruent segments, so what should your length be?
- Move the new endpoint to a position so you can make a triangle by creating
another segment.

To create an Equilateral triangle:
- On the 5th drop down menu select Regular Polygon
- Create two points and then enter 3 vertices.

To create a Right Triangle:
- Create a line segment.
- Select Perpendicular Line from the 4th drop down menu.
- Click the two endpoints of the segment.
- Make a point anywhere on the line formed using the second drop down menu.
- Connect that point with the other endpoint.

To create a scalene triangle:
- Select polygon from the 5th drop down menu.
- Make three points but make sure to connect to the first point.

To Measure Angles:
- Select Angle from the 8th drop down menu.
- Select the points that form the angle in a clockwise direction.

To Measure Length:
- Select Distance or Length from the 8th drop down menu.
- Select the line you want to measure.
