Preparation and Submission of Assignment


1.1 Assignment Submission Process

One Hard Copy must be submitted at Student Support Counter in a Plastic Wallet by 5:00 PM on the day of the deadline. One Soft Copy of your assignment on a CD (Write the Microsoft Word Version of the Soft Copy on CD NOT PDF). Please submit the CD with the assignment in a separate Plastic CD Wallet.

1.2 Preparation of Written Assignment

Your printed copy must be: Assignment must be in the Sample Assignment Format (Attached separately with this assignment) Microsoft Word Processed NOT PDF Single Sided with 1.5 line Spacing Use Arial font Size 12 Justify Text Your printed copy must include a completed assignment submission cover sheet Stapled in the top left corner.

1.3 Late Assignment Submission There is a late penalty fee of 10 PER DAY for late submission; however your assignments may not be accepted. If students fail to submit the assignments, they will fail the module and will be deregistered from the course.

1.4 Assignment Submission Fee Assignment Submission fee is 30 Per Assignment. Late Assignment Submission fee is 10 Per Day For those students who fail to submit but were then given an extension, they will have to pay 60 Per Assignment.

Associated guidelines on Plagiarism


What is Plagiarism? 1. Using someone else's work as your own, without citing the source. This includes direct copying, rephrasing, and summarizing, as well as taking someone else's idea and putting it in different words. 2. Not indicating directly quoted passages or ideas even while citing the work as a general source. Colleges Policy* All homework assignments, projects, reports, papers and examinations submitted to a course are expected to be the student's own work.

Students should always take great care to distinguish their own ideas and knowledge from information derived from sources.

The term "sources" includes not only published primary and secondary material, but also information and opinions gained directly from other people.

The responsibility for learning the proper forms of citation lies with the individual student.

Quotations must be placed properly within quotation marks and must be cited fully. In addition, all paraphrased material must be acknowledged completely.

Whenever ideas or facts are derived from a student's reading and research or from a student's own writings, the sources must be indicated. Students are expected to be familiar with Harvard Referencing Guide.

Students who are in any doubt about the preparation of academic work should consult their lecturer before the work is prepared or submitted. Students who, for whatever reason, submit work either not their own or without clear attribution to its sources will be subject to disciplinary action, and may be required to withdraw from the College.

Then as Project Manager Prepare a detailed project plan, which should cover the following: Sponsorship, Deliverables, Responsibilities, Resource allocations, Timeline, Milestones, and Critical path Q5.You are considering different options for the structure of the project team. You have worked in team with a hierarchical structure. Assess these alternative options for project team structures. Q6.It is said that good project managers are good at motivating staff. Demonstrate the key interpersonal skills required for an effective project manager. Q7. Design quality management processes AND project monitoring processes to be used in the project NOTE: your design must include: plan documentation and regular monitoring meetings; defining responsibilities and accountability; communications; traceability and audit trails; formalised frameworks and stages

Meaning of Command Words Used in Assignment Questions The command words in an assignment question indicate to students the nature of the answer they should give, and also give an indication of the skills being tested. Below are some examples of command words and what the mean. Students should answer their question accordingly. Command Word Analyse Meaning
Here you need to provide a detailed comparison of the causes and effects of how something has happened / developed. Wherever possible use examples, especially if the stimulus material has some within it. Sometimes the word "critically" is inserted before analyse. This means that you must make suggestions as to why / why not something would / would not, in your opinion, be appropriate to the issue being analysed. As ever, it's best to offer support to your findings/opinions. Make an idea, situation or problem clear (to someone) by describing it in detail revealing relevant data or facts. Explain (why) This needs a detailed response with reasons about HOW something will, for example, benefit or improve a particular situation. Explain (how) This needs a detailed response that gives reasons WHY something might help / hinder the central issue of the question. You are being asked to judge / assess /, using whatever information is available, the probable outcome / worth / advantages / disadvantages / success of whatever is central to the question. Form an idea of the amount, number, or value of someone or something. Evaluate or estimate the nature, ability, or quality of something This asked for a DETAILED explanation considering the possible outcomes and where possible offering support to your descriptions. Think carefully about something, typically before making a decision Establish or indicate the origin, nature or definitive character of something Show or prove why something is right/reasonable or wrong/unreasonable. This calls for you to explain why or give reasons for why something should happen or not happen. A general plan giving the essential features but not the detail. Only the main features or general principles of something. Give an account in words of (someone or something such as a theory) including all of the relevant characteristics, qualities or events. Estimate, measure or note the similarity or dissimilarity between one thing and another(compare something to) draw an analogy between one thing and another for the purpose of explanation or clarification. Apply your knowledge of, say the marketing mix, to a particular situation. You need to relate your specific knowledge of the syllabus area to the situation you have been given. Inspect (someone or something) in detail to determine the nature or condition. The state of being strikingly different from something else, typically something in juxtaposition or close association.
