Join other top Metro Detroit restaurants in Dining Out for Life on Thursday, April 24, 2014 Your only commitment is to contribute 25% of food and beverage sales on Thursday, April 24th to benefit the Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC). In exchange, MAC promotes your restaurant and the event, bringing increased business into your restaurant on Dining Out for Life day. One of the pleasures of life is sharing a meal with friends. Dining Out for Life celebrates that pleasure by spending a special evening out with friends and family, supporters help raise funds for those in your community battling the many effects of HIV/AIDS. Dining Out for Life was established in 1990 by ActionAIDS in Philadelphia. Since then, Dining Out for Life has grown into an internationally organized effort and an annual tradition. On the last Thursday of April, diners gather at their favorite restaurants and a percentage of their bill is donated to a local HIV/AIDS services organization. While it seems wonderfully direct and simple, Dining Out for Life is a significant fundraiser that requires the hard work and generosity of many volunteers, sponsors and restaurants. Over forty cities throughout the U.S. and Canada have participated in Dining Out for Life and have raised millions dollars for HIV/AIDS support services. The proceeds from this exciting event will be used to provide counseling and testing to the men and women who are most at-risk for contracting the virus.
