Recovery Plants (RBU) are specially designed to recovery CO2 from the fermentation processes at Distilleries. Through appropriate scrubbing, ltration and separation technology the recovered CO2 is puried to comply with the highest quality requirements of the market. The modular designed plant is supplied as complete skids pre-mounted and tested in our workshop to secure high quality, exible installation and optimal maintenance facilities. The plant is operated via a user-friendly and logic designed interface based on a 12 256 colour TFT operator panel, which combined with Windows CE operating system offers an innovative and highly detailed control and monitoring of the plant process. A large range of accessories are available to complement plant installation including; storage tanks, evaporators, truck and cylinder lling, energy saving equipment etc. Assistance during erection, installation and commission are provided according to the need of the client and Union Engineering can even undertake the erection and installation of the plant on turn-key basis.

Foam trap Separation of foam and removal of sugar aerosols by internal water spraying system. Water scrubber Removal of water soluble impurities (mainly alcohol). Balloon Provides a buffer for the CO2 compressor. CO2 compressor Non-lubricated two-step compression with gas cooling and water separation. High pressure water scrubber Removes effectively organics as alcohols, acetaldehyde and acetates to a low level by using a sparingly amount of water. Carbon lter Removal of odours (hydrophobic avour components). Individual regeneration by air and pure CO2. Dehryrator Drying of gas to a dew point of -60C (10 ppm). Individual regeneration by CO2 purge gas or air. Oxygen stripping (optional) Reduction of oxygen and inert gases by distillation to a very low level < 2 ppm. CO2 Liqueer Liquefaction of CO2 by high efcient heat exchanger. Separation of inert gases by purge system. Refrigeration plant Ammonia or Freon based refrigeration plant consisting of compressor, receiver and refrigerant condenser. Storage tank Storage facility for liqueed CO2. The standard design of the Recovery Plant is based on the following:
