Inspect condition of ignition plugs per P&W Maintenance Manual. Inspect ignition harness and insulators for high tension leakage and continuity (Piper Service Manual, Section Vill). Inspect electrical connections on ignition exciter for security (Piper Service Manual, Section Vill Remove air inlet screen, inspect first stage compressor blades for ingestion damage and corro- sion. Inspect screen for damage and cleanliness and reinstall. Inspect fuel pump inlet screen and outlet filter for foreign material (clean or replace as necessary) (P&W Maintenance Manual) (Refer to Special Inspection, 500 Hour). Inspect gas generator case drain valves for security and leaks (to be checked during engine run) (P&W Maintenance Manual). Inspect condition and operation of inlet air ducts and ice protection system (Piper Service Manual, Section Vill). Inspect condition of actuators for ice protection system and oil cooler door, lubricate upon disas- sembly. Inspect power lever, condition lever, propeller governor and propeller reversing linkage for travel and operation (Piper Service Manual, Section VII), Inspect gas generator case for cracks, distortion and evidence of overheating (P&W Maintenance Manual). Inspect all flexible lines (fuel, hydraulic, and oil) and replace on condition (Refer to Piper Service Manual, Section II}. Inspect fuel system for leaks. Check submerged fuel pumps for operation. Replace hydraulic filter element (check element for contamination) (Piper Service Manual, Section VI). Inspect hydraulic pump and gaskets for leaks (Piper Service Manual, Section VI). Inspect all engine fire seals for cracks and security (Piper Service Manual, Section VII). Inspect torque pressure transmitter for security and wiring (P&W Maintenance Manual). Inspect fire extinguisher pressure in accordance with Piper Service Manual, Section XIV. Inspect breather tube for obstruction and security. Check for proper oil level and filler locking cap for security. Inspect engine mounts for cracks and loose mount bolts (Piper Service Manual, Section Vill. Inspect P3 air filter for foreign material (clean as required) (P&W Maintenance Manual) Inspect rubber engine mount for deterioration (refer to Special Inspection, 40 hours). Inspect firewall for cracks and stress. Inspect firewall seals. Inspect condition of starter-generator (refer to Special Inspection, 300 hours). Inspect tachometer generators security and wiring. CAUTION The access panel on the upper outboard surface of the wing, which covers the Flux Detector, is secured with brass screws and must be installed with brass screws only. Inspect plug connection from the Flux Detector for corrosion and tightness. . Check surfaces, skins, farings and wing tips for damage and loose rivets. Inspect aileron cables, pulleys and bellcrank for damage, full travel and proper cable tension (Piper Service Manual, Sections IV and V). . Inspect all rod end bearings for freedom of ball movement. Use a 10X magnifying glass to check thread end of bearing for cracks and damage. Replace bearing if ball is frozen or hard to move. n (located outboard of aileron). Inspect all control surface exterior bearings for wear and freedom of movement. - Remove aileron and inspect area beneath inboard hinge on aileron spar for cracks. (Refer to latest revision of Piper Service Bulletin No. 974.) Inspect wing attachment bolts for stripe alignment. (Piper Service Manual, Section IV). Inspect wing attachment brackets and splice plate for cracks and corrosion (Piper Service Manual, Section IV) Inspect engine mount attachments for security (Piper Service Manual, Section VIII). Inspect fuel cells and lines for leaks and water (Piper Service Manual, Section IX). Cheek fuel tanks for proper placards, fuel caps for proper seal and quick drains for proper operation. Check fuel tanks marked for correct operating fuel. Inspect fuel vents for blockage and damage. Inspect tip tank for attachment, damage and leaks. |. Inspect oxygen cylinder for security of mounting, condition and pressure (Piper Service Manual, Section XIV). Inspect electronics installation of wire harness, cannon plugs, ground bus bar, Diplexter for condition and security. Inspect antenna mounts and electrical wiring for security and corrosion in plugs. Inspect battery box and cables for corrosion and security (check at least every thirty (30) days and clean as required, per Piper Service Manual, Section XI). Inspect condition of battery and thermostat assembly per Special Inspection Form in this manual. Within the Radome inspect the radar and glide slope antenna, wave guide and receiver transmitter for condition and security of mounting Inspect SAS angle of attack vane for condition, security and heat operation in accordance with Piper Service Manual, Section XI (see Caution on Page 25).
