chapter 1
No one ever said relationships are easy, even if you are 100% compatible with the person you are with. There are always going to be challenges that you will face along the way in pursuit of sustaining a happy and healthy relationship. Anyone you spend a lot of time with, despite how close you may be, will face problems and clash on various things from time to time. This is inevitable. However, when it comes to family members, roommates, and close friends, it is easy to overcome these problems without having to worry about
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
hat makes relationships interesting is that they are one of the only forms of social bonds that are often defined through verbal confirmation. For example, to differentiate from being friends/ acquaintances and show you are something more; you define yourself as in a relationship with that other person. On the other side of things, it is also one of the only social bonds that have an actual term to define the act of ending that bond: Breaking Up. This is why managing a relationship is much harder than managing something like a friendship. When things go wrong in a relationship, one begins to evaluate their status within the relationship and breaking up is always an option in the back of ones mind. However, if you can learn to understand the surprisingly simple dynamics of a relationship, you will be able to identify problems as they arise, and the effect they are actually having on your relationship. Then, in turn, you can properly manage those problems to put everything back on the right track.
Understanding the Relationship Rewind system not only allows you to reverse the mistakes one has made in terms of managing the dynamics of your relationship, but also helps you recognize when something could be going wrong, so you can quickly reverse it. This is something that could have been avoided from damaging the whole fabric of your relationship. Relationship Rewind is also the first and only system that acknowledges the four stages of every relationship and how it plays into the relationship decay process. There is a different approach needed for each stage, which means there is no one-sizefits-all approach for all situations. However, this is good news for you because no matter how unique your situation is, you will be able to identify one of these four stages and know exactly where to start the Relationship Rewind process. No matter what stage in the relationship breakdown you are in, Relationship Rewind presents three simple steps that will put your relationship back on the right track. And each step has a tailored approach depending on the stage you are in.
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
In any breakup, there are two things you need to find out first. Once you find out these two pieces of information, you plug them in, and follow the steps.
Those
1. The current stage of your relationship 2. The Real Reason your partner lost interest
2 things are:
Finding out these two things is the first step to starting your Relationship Rewind. It will give you a greater understanding of the true and current dynamics of your relationship, and in turn will let you know where and how to begin the Relationship Rewind.
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
Step 1
n many aspects of life, improving your understanding of a subject matter is necessary to moving forward. Its also important to be HONEST with yourself about the stage and the real reason your partner lost interest. One of the most important behaviors you will need is ACCEPTANCE that things are not the way they used to be. In the start of any relationship, you are in a stage that the Relationship Rewind defines as Bliss. This is when everything is going great and you genuinely feel that the feelings you have for your partner are truly reciprocated. For some people, especially when they feel they are with someone slightly out of their league, they will become surprised by the attention and affection they are receiving.
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
nderstanding the Relationship Rewind not only helps you recognize when these changes occur, but shows you how to instantly and naturally bring your partner back to bliss. It does not matter if you catch the change instantly during the first stage of relationship decay, or if you have made other common mistakes that have pushed your partner to a later stage. Bringing them back to bliss is always possible if you can understand just a few key principles.
This is the biggest mistake people make. Would you ever let a doctor prescribe you medicine without first knowing EXACTLY what was wrong with you? Of course not! One medicine that can be life saving to one persons condition can be fatal to another. This line of thinking holds true in Relationship Rewind. All of the information you need to determine your stage and Real Reason for the decay is contained within the system. In order for you to get results, you must do your part. Fortunately, all that is involved is being completely honest with yourself, making observations of your partners current behavior, and following directions.
come to terms with disappointment, and thats why its tempting to think youre in an earlier stage than you really are.
(Meaning you treat your partner like you are still in Bliss when it is clearly not the case)
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
Feelings and emotions are strange things; they can be heightened one minute, and be completely changed and turned sour within seconds. Misunderstanding what stage you are in because you are too proud to admit that there might be something wrong is only going to make things worse, and you will push your partner further away. When identifying the stage you are in, let your emotions guide you and understand that its better to be out of Bliss for an extended period of time, than to simply hold onto the idea of being in Bliss and never returning back to it. Just know, if you were able to elicit those positive emotions and feelings in your partner once, it can be done again.
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
chapter 2
Of course, if your partner never really had feelings for you in the first place, there is not much you can rewind to. That is why its very important to understand that we can only rewind with someone who is already more than just friends. That is a nice, simple rule. If there was some initial attraction, then you already know that you are in your partners league, otherwise he/she would not have gotten physical with you at all. One mistake many people make is doubting how their partner feels about them, even when in a state of mutual Bliss. When someone finds a great partner, instead of focusing on how great things are at that moment, they worry that they are going to mess things up, or that their partner is losing interest. This often happens if one considers the other person out of their league. So remember, if someone is willing to get physical with you, and especially if they spend time with you afterwards, they are attracted to you. You have triggered that emotion inside them. So when in a state of Bliss, enjoy that time. Do not think you need to constantly be reversing your partners mind back to a specific state when they are already in it. Dont worry, thanks to Relationship Rewind you will know right away when things are falling out of Bliss.
he power behind Relationship Rewind lies in the fact that whatever a person has felt or experienced once in his or her life, can easily be experienced again.
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
Relationship Rewind will help you identify when your partner no longer feels the same level of attraction toward you. The accumulation of the emotions we create in him or her, along with your partners state of mind, is what their attraction is to you. If the state of mind changes, it is the aim of Relationship Rewind to bring your partner back to that same state of mind so that the attraction can be cultivated again, and developed even more. We will cover all of this in Step 3 of the system.

RELATIONSHIP REWIND
chapter 3
here are two schools of thought surrounding this issue. One school of thought is that if youre not making it work out, then move on and meet someone new. We all know the saying there are plenty of fish in the sea. However, there are certain women in my life (one in particular Im thinking of right now) who I felt deserved MUCH more effort than others, and is WORTH the energy and planning to get back. I like to think that if someone had that much effect on me, then I know at some point, I must have had a strong effect on that person also; even if only for a second. This gives me hope that no matter how distant I feel to that person, I can bring things back to the way they once were. It is my belief that NO situation is impossible, even at Deaths Door,
11
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
That being said, I was unable to identify what I was doing wrong until I had unintentionally brought some relationships all the way to Deaths Door. Once I identified the mistakes I was making, I learned not only how to avoid those mistakes but also to fix them once they occurred. This is what became the basis for Relationship Rewind. Know that even if you cant recover from the damage done to the relationship, you can learn to understand the mistakes and fix/avoid them in your future relationships.

elationship Rewind makes it easy to pinpoint exactly where you made a mistake in any of your past relationships. Because you already made the mistake and felt the consequences, you sure as hell will never make that mistake again. This is what will make the concepts of Relationship Rewind stick and improve your life just after one read through. Now, Im not advocating going through life breaking up over and over again just to improve your skill with the system; but just understand that this is a fact of life. The average person will have dozens and dozens of relationships over his or her lifetime on various levels of intimacy and importance. There will be people you know who you think are better off with the breakup, and there will also be people who touch you in such a profound way that it is worth getting them back. Ultimately, it is your decision. I cannot tell you whether a certain person is worth getting back or not. You have to weigh the rewards of getting that person back against the time and energy required, and the opportunities you could be missing out on.
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
Just know one thing: if you decide it is best for you to move on, or you put your efforts into rebuilding the relationship to no avail, it is OK to feel sad. Because when it comes down to it, you should be really happy that something could make you feel that sad in the first place. It lets you know you are alive, vulnerable, and human; just like everyone else. The only way you could feel that sad now is if you had felt something truly great and amazing before. So sometimes
you need to take the good with the bad in life and understand that what you are feeling is really the most beautiful sadness there is in life. And for that, you should mentally thank the person who had such an effect on you for the experience. Be excited to know that the lessons you have learned will help you keep and maintain that happiness when you find it again. And you WILL find it again!

have mentioned that there are stages to every relationship decay. Here are each of the foue stages laid out. They represent the spectrum from being together and happy, to broken up (or worse). Understanding which end you are closer to will help you implement the steps of RR properly. Once you can identify the stage you are in and the problem that caused you to be there, then all you need to do is properly implement the next two steps of RR to return to bliss.

y oure in Bliss, you know it. Yes, there can still be some uncertainty in the early stages of Bliss, but its simply the anxious excitement of wondering when you will hear from your partner again. -- If its a sexual relationship, sex happens frequently, and without resistance. The sex is passionate and good. Good sex is not physical; it is purely psychological. If you stimulate your partner and provide a challenge to him or her in regular life, the sex will be better. -- As a man, I can tell you that some of the best sex I ever had was with women who werent the most attractive, and didnt have the hottest bodies by societies standards. It was how much of a challenge they were to me, combined with how much they supported my goals and reinforced my GOAL Self Image (GSI). (More on this later, it is one of the KEYS to every successful Rewind). --Good morning and good night text messages or phone calls happen frequently, and with a positive response. It doesnt matter who initiates them, all that matters is that the other partner reciprocates them quickly and with equal positivity. --Things just seem easy. Maybe you were playing games with each other at first until the point where you finally got physical. But after that, mutual attraction was established and the concern of showing too much affection or interest became irrelevant. --Long, late night phone calls or calls just to talk and see how each others days were.

witch is easy to notice because you will see a distinct change in your partners behavior. You will get the funny feeling that something is different. However your partner, or friend youve recently been with, is still willing to spend time with you, and keep their plans with you. A key indicator that you are in Switch is the reduction of physical intimacy. Your partner might turn away when you try to kiss him/her, or is no longer interested in sex. The best way to think about Switch is that it feels more like an evaluation period. If your partner is focusing on the positive points of your relationship, they treat you well. If they are more focused on the negative, they may seem moody or withdrawn. Switch can happen after an extended period of time when your partner notices something lacking from the relationship. This is where identifying why your partner is losing interest comes into play. Switch often happens after a
Switch
particular incident, whether it is an argument or action; something has happened that is making your partner second-guess the relationship. A switch pretty much always follows your first fight and is the reason many relationships end after 3 to 4 weeks into it. A switch occurs and one partner does not handle it properly. In Switch, your partner is often angry or frustrated with you. This is good because at least they are having strong emotions toward you, which is actually better than none at all. For them to be angry and frustrated with you means that you had made them very happy before the switch. Taking proper action while in Switch can return you to Bliss and in some instances, strengthen the relationship. On the other hand, acting like you are in Bliss or trying to rewind the Switch stage improperly can land you straight in the Drift Stage (which is essentially a Break Up). It is important to understand the difference between Switch and Drift and know which stage you are truly in.
16
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
THE BREAKUP TALK can come in many forms. This is when your partners evaluation period has ended and the Switch stage has come to an END. If the breakup talk took place, then you are no longer in Switch and have moved into Drift. Please understand that the transition from Switch to Drift can happen even without a formal talk in a couple different cases: The relationship was too short-term to begin with and did not justify a breakup talk.
A B C
Your partner wants to string you along so that you do not explore other options, so he or she can keep a safety net while they search for something better. I believe this behavior is very disrespectful, but it can be quite common in many cases. Whether the breakup talk happened or not, it is not important moving forward. The most important thing is to accurately determine WHICH STAGE YOURE IN at the moment. So if you are not 100% sure if your relationship has moved to Drift, just ask yourself these 5 questions: a. Is my partner very hard to reach, or get in touch with? b. Has my partner complained about my behavior, or tried to make me feel guilty about asking for his or her time? c. Does my partner break plans with me in favor of doing other things? d. Does my partner give me excuses about not hanging out? e. Has my partner shown less interest in sex and/or physical affection?
If you answered YES to 3 or more of these questions, then you are past Switch, and already in Drift.
17
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
In Switch, partners are receiving positive reinforcement only from themselves. They are experiencing internal doubts in the relationship and most of the time they have not discussed their doubt with friends and DEFINITELY not with their family. If anything, they have told one very close friend about their relationship issues. They are deciding for themselves if they are better off with or without you. If your actions lead them back to Bliss, they will justify it as the right choice, and only have to convince themselves of it. No one else knew the problem existed. However, if your actions lead them to Drift, they will be convinced internally that they made the right decision.
c. Drift
hen your partner breaks up with you, or severely reduces the time spent with you, you are in Drift. This happens so that they can spend more time looking around for a new partner. They have finished their evaluation period in Switch, and have decided they are better off with someone else. I understand that it is not easy to hear this, but the truth is, if your partner is avoiding you, or prioritizing other things in front of you, he/she is actively looking for someone to replace you. They are not too busy with work or finding themselves. Finding someone we are highly attracted to is always the #1 priority in life. No matter what they tell you, they are NOT just too busy at work, and NOT finding themselves. When in Bliss, and even sometimes in Switch, they will make time to see you regardless of their agenda. In Drift, you will find yourself being the only one making initial contact. Their excuses for not meeting up are just things they say to avoid upsetting you, even if they are untrue.
18
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
In Drift, you will RARELY hear the truth about what your partner is doing, or how they feel about you. You will encounter many excuses, and your intuition will let you know that they are excuses. When in Drift, your partner has a general indifference to you. This is harder to recover from because they have detached themselves from both the good and bad emotions you had once created. They are looking to what lies in store for them on the road ahead to further justify their decision to move on. However, it is still possible to reverse from Drift. There are a number of factors that come into play that will be covered in Step 2 and 3.
in their life to back the decision they are making. In Switch they have their doubts; in Drift they often rely on others to confirm those doubts for them. This helps them reinforce the belief that they are better off without you and have made the right decision. This is why learning to manage a switch when it happens is one of the keys to proper relationship management.
d. Deaths
Door
In the Drift stage, your partner has talked over the problems and challenges in your relationship with other people, most likely just friends and family. If you are in Drift, it also means your partners friends and family have agreed with the doubt and have given your partner the green light to move on. That may be a major factor in your partners decision to move on. When your partner goes from a Switch to Drift, they often look for justifications from people important
Deaths Door is the point when your partner has had so much positive reinforcement regarding his or her decision to move on, that they have taken significant action in order to assist them in becoming indifferent to you. And by significant I mean that its very difficult to reverse. Most likely, your partner has come to a conclusion that you are a bad person for them, and that they must move on. If partners feel managing their distance was too hard in Drift Stage, they will often make a major life decision so that it is put outside of their control. This often results when we continue to treat our partner as if we were still in Bliss while really we are in Driftor we cannot accept that our partner has drifted.
19

3. Your partner has told friends and family members that you are a bad influence, so that going back to you would make him/her a hypocrite to everyone of importance. 5. Your partner has filed and completed legal proceeding, such as a divorce, or in some cases, a restraining order.
NOTE: Please understand that if you were ALREADY in a long distance relationship and Drifted, it does not automatically put you at Deaths Door. If you were in DRIFT and she decided to move in order to start a new life, then yes thats a clear sign you are now at Deaths Door. It is very hard to reverse a physical location change.
20
<<

>
Deaths Door means that your partner has received positive reinforcement from their entire social circle to leave you. In addition, your partner has taken SIGNIFICANT action to move on. Significant action means much more than your partner breaking up with you, or having sex with someone else. Those things can happen in both Switch and Drift stages.

In other words, you started relying too much on your partner to lead the relationship. This is easily fixed (more on this later). The important thing to understand is that the basic compatibility is there.
can change over time, but during that time, doing the right things behaviorally should be able to produce an attraction that is MUCH deeper than anything physical. Again, if your partner is in Switch, he/she will start to place more emphasis on your physical imperfections, but that does not mean they are really a problem. Rewind your partners mind and it will no longer be important.

Acceptable level of social status. This would apply more to men than women, but if you lost your job and your income level changed drastically, and your partner lost interest, it is NOT because he or she was interested in that part of you. What is much more likely is that YOU started to behave differently because of a lack of confidence or degradation to your own self-image.
Acceptable geographic distance. If you met your partner while traveling and you maintained intimate communication for at least a couple of weeks, that means the distance was not a deal breaker and the relationship can be continued. The attraction can be amplified to the point where your partner joins you in your location. We see this all the time with the success stories from online dating sites where couples across the country meet and then move in with each other and get married.
It is easy to attribute the above factors to your relationship decay but is very rarely ever the case. For them to be attracted to you; then the above four factors have been met from the start.
23
<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
nowing your partners basic needs are already met means that your relationship decay is being caused by one or many of the following factors:
that they are the best you can do. This comes from a lack of friends of the opposite sex or a lack of a flirtatious attitude. You do not want your partner to think that if he/she left you, you would not be able to find someone else. You do not need to be overly flirtatious with other people, but simply show you are comfortable talking to members of the opposite sex while around your partner. Also, it is perfectly OK to mention celebrities you find attractive. Little things like that can show a healthy interest in the opposite sex outside of your relationship.
People will make drastic changes just to satisfy their partners. Some people seem to think by changing all their interests and traits in order to be compatible with their partner will strengthen the relationship. Often times this can hurt the relationship because you are changing the person you were attracted to. Even though you may have changed yourself into someone who shares more common interests with your partner, it makes you a different person; and changes in identity can cause someone to re-evaluate the relationship.
24
<<

ranked first, and your relationship second. A person with a strong vision and drive in life actually has successful relationships because that motivation is inspiring, and your partner will want to become involved and help you achieve your vision. (Also referred to as your GSI, (Goal Self Image); more on satisfying this in your partner later). Getting away for a day or two to focus on your vision and life outside of the relationship will show your partner you are a dedicated person, and almost always results in a plethora of supportive phone calls or text messages while you are away.
Some people take vision too far and think that their partner has to be involved in all aspects of their life. You may fall into the trap of forcing your goals and dreams on your partner; expecting they will be on board. This comes off especially bad when you put your vision over your partners, ignoring their aspirations entirely. Remember, your partner has a life outside of you. Do not think just because you are together, your partners social circle should only

consist of the friends and activities you partake in. Its good to be helpful to your partner, but do not fall into the habit of constantly saying things like, I think you should do this... This balance can also be disturbed when one partner encourages the other to change location solely based on what is good for them. If a partner feels pressured into life changing decisions he/she is not ready for, it can become powerful ammo for rationalizing a Switch, or Drift, in a relationship.
thinking, OK, well we can work on improving the physical stuff later. It goes the other way around too. Maybe you have great sex and meet all your partners needs in that department, yet lack the level of intimate connection he/ she is looking for. In which case your partner will try harder to get to know you but can become frustrated if it becomes a challenge to get you to open up. Ultimately, you would like to satisfy both of these needs, but as long as you can meet one, you usually figure out the other one by spending more time with your partner. However, failing to make improvements to satisfy the need that is lacking can cause problems down the road. In many cases, a Shift and Drift happen when you start making mistakes or ignoring the particular need you were once satisfying. Now both your partners emotional and physical needs are not being met and the idea of looking to get those needs met by someone else becomes more appealing. Do not be afraid to ask what your partner likes sexually, just making an effort to do what turns them on goes a long way. I personally like the question What is your ultimate sexual fantasy? I will ask it while in bed with the girl, a place where she can feel
If

safe and sexually open. This does not mean we need to immediately pursue the fantasy, but I am showing a genuine interest in something that appeals to her physical and emotional needs. I also feel answering this question builds a stronger level of emotional connection as well, because it is taking the physical act of sex, and applying it to a setting that comes from a place in your partners imagination; which is most likely something she has not shared with many people. To build more of an emotional connection, do not be afraid to ask questions that few people may askthings that make your partner think for a second. They might not even know the answer at first. Questions like, What is your biggest fear? Did anything ever happen to you that changed your outlook on life? Whats your favorite sound? are all great questions to make your partner think about things they have not thought about in a while, or share something they have not told anyone.
T his can be in regard to things as simple as changing the subject or leaving during a deep conversation, to making your partner leave an event because you are not having a good time. For example, say you are out with
27
<<

friends and your partner at a dinner party, concert, bar, wherever it may be. Now if something drastic happens that compromises your night, then it is okay to request that your partner leaves with you. However, if you can tell your partner is having a good time, do not force them to leave just because you are not having as much fun as you want. Especially dont force them to leave because they are talking to members of the opposite sex. It makes you seem weak and threatened. But most of all, stopping your partners fun is reflected on you. You become the reason the fun goes away and it seems like you cant keep up with your partner in settings he or she enjoys.
its good for him or her not just hang out when its convenient and fits to your plans. This can go the other way around. If you find that your partner only makes time for you when its good for them, make you less available to restore the balance. For men when there is an imbalance and the woman makes all the decisions, they are often seen as whipped.
> Punishment/reward:
Do not let your partner constantly get away with things that make you unhappy. You need to be confident enough to express your opinions because it is far more attractive than just being a push over. Likewise when your partner does things that make you happy, you should reward those behaviors. Positive reinforcement when someone makes the effort is always appreciated. Lack of positive reinforcement can result in a lack of effort. Rewarding through physical affection is great because regardless if you are male or female, it frames sex as an exciting thing that follows good behavior. Despite what people may think, men and women both love sex the same. Men are just more open about it. If sex follows behaviors that you like, you will
> Imbalance:
Imbalance in a relationship can cause a Switch and a Drift in many ways, but almost always roots from one partner putting in more effort than the other. For example, one person should not constantly be visiting the other at their place every time you hang out; there should be a relatively mutual balance between who visits whom. Balance can also be in regard to what you do when you hang out. You should show that you make time for your partner when

sex is the promised outcome. Also, never plan for sex like it is part of your agenda; it should be spontaneous and passionate. Do not make yourself overly available and ready for sex at a moments notice. Showing even the slightest restraint can really build the relationships sexual tension and strengthen the relationship.

and I was in the early stages of the relationship, so it was not expected of me to go to the events. But because I took interest in her dancing, I knew that she would be doing 10 different heats of competitions all day with short breaks in between. So I would just send a simple text throughout the day wishing her good luck, or asking how she thought she was doing. I just made an effort to show my support. In return she would always send me supportive texts when I was doing important things in my life. Just taking a simple interest in your partners GSI can go such a long way. If you do not buy into your partners beliefs and show faith in them, they will seek out that support somewhere else. You should not only show support toward your partners GSI, but also towards him or her in general. Sending simple messages to let them know you are thinking about them, or telling them when they look sexy, can really boost a persons confidence in the relationship; and being the right match. You should aim to make your partner feel attractive whenever they are around you. Take the time to notice the little things your partner does that you find attractive.
ake decisions based on times that you are feeling GOOD together. Making plans when in heightened moments of bliss allow you to do things that will become memorable moments in your life. Not having these moments can leave the relationship at a stale point. Making decisions together that will have a long term effect on each others lives strengthens the relationship, and constantly reminds your partner of the good feelings they felt when they made that decision. You should have experiences that can be special for just you and your partner. When you are at a high point in your relationship, that is the best time to present big decisions, or commitments for the future. This can range from anything like planning a trip, to moving in together. As the date of what you plan gets closer, it is possible that your relationship may not be at that same high it was at when you made the plans.
30

However, a reminder of the commitment can bring your partner back to that state they were once in, and remember why they made the decision in the first place. They will seek out the positive in your relationship to justify the action.

<<
RELATIONSHIP REWIND
The following things are NOT deal breakers, although many people believe they could be. In fact, properly positioning these problems can strengthen your relationship to something far greater than it was before.
Although this may make your partner question their trust in you, it sparks jealousy and frustration, merely based on the fact that they feel they are losing you. This obviously changes in degree, depending on the length of the relationship or if it is defined in the first place. Suggested stance to take when problem is brought up: Many people will accuse their partners of flirting with others in the early stages of the relationship, often before it is officially defined, because it tests the level of commitment. If you find yourself in this situation, try to point out to your partner that if flirting is such a big deal, then clearly what is happening between you two has turned into something more than just having fun together. It needs to be defined as something more. Help him/her understand that you are a social person and did not realize it was creating an uncomfortable situation for your partner. It is better to stand firm on the fact that you were not doing anything wrong, but were simply misreading how your actions were hurting your partner. If you apologize, it is like admitting you were doing something bad and were aware of it. Instead, encourage your partner to open up to help you understand why it is such a big deal to them. He or she will realize it is because of their strong feelings for you. At which point you can re-affirm that those feelings are mutual and then define the relationship.
32
<<

giving the same interest back. Suggested stance to take when problem is brought up: Let your partner know that you are wary of opening up about everything, because in your mind that is a very big step to take. To you, opening up about everything means leaving yourself exposed and vulnerable to being hurt. When you fully open up to someone, it is your way of admitting to yourself that this relationship is the real deal. You may then point out that because youre not opening up, it has hurt the relationship, and that you now realize your partner genuinely cares to know more about you. This will, in turn, make you finally feel safe to open up. You want it to seem that them bringing up the problem has brought you to a new level of trust. Now when you share details of your life, your relationship will be 10 times more powerful and memorable than it would have been normally.
3. Being less responsive to your partner in order to work or focus on other priorities
No one wants to feel that they have to compete for your attention. Often times a switch that happens because of this factor comes from the fact that your partner was once impressed by your passion and focus in other priorities. But now they are feeling left out from them. Essentially, you have not done a proper job of sharing your GSI with your partner.
Point out that their work/hobby/school/whatever will always be a major priority in your life. You cant change that because when something is important to you, you become fully involved and want to see that you are putting 100% effort into it. Point out that it is the same thing with your partner. His or her priorities to you is something that you cant help but want to become fully involved in. Then mention you realized that your desire to want to spend time with them actually made you notice that you were not giving your other focuses the attention you were used to giving it. So you tried to make up for it by sacrificing your extra time to keep

your other priorities on track because you felt a personal obligation to. You didnt notice it was causing problems with your partner because even though your time was being put into your work, your mind was still focused on your partner. So now you have started to realize that although your work/school/whatever takes an important chunk of your time, your time spent with your partner has shown to be more important to you, which is rare, but exciting for you. So the only reason you let yourself get overly involved in other things was because you were not used to a person in your life becoming equally, if not more important to you, and did not know how to manage it. But you are now happy that it has finally happened and know where your true priorities lie.
hat is the opposite of love? Many would answer hate, but the real answer is indifference, as it lacks all emotion. The difference between love and hate is perception, but both are fueled by the same passion. A fight is often better than breaking down and apologizing, because first off it means you are standing by a position. This alone creates challenge and balance to the relationship. Perhaps the most balanced point of any relationship is when two people are sticking firm to their beliefs and will even get angry to stay true to their position. When you start apologizing, it is letting your partner know that they were right to accuse you of those things and that they are major flaws in you as a person. When a partner initiates a fight or argument, they have rationalized to themselves that you have done something wrong to hurt the fabric of the relationship. Giving in to what they are saying only justifies that it is

you that screwed up and that they were the victimmaking it easier to grow indifferent to you. It is actually better to leave the argument angry, with no winner, and come back after things have settled down. Always show a willingness to walk away when an agreement cant be reached. Be the person who storms out. Creating distance is always better than chasing; it makes growing indifferent impossible. Any of the things listed can definitely cause a Switch and throw your partner out of Bliss, but it is how YOU REACT to his/her Switch that determines if you go back to Bliss. Or it will cause your partner to Drift. First off, when your partner believes that YOU screwed up, its easier to leave. Remember, apologizing off the bat reinforces that it is you who screwed up. When your partner can walk away ON HIS OR HER OWN FREE WILL, its easier to leave. So do not give them the satisfaction of thinking you are the only person at fault. If your partner leaves, they expect that you will chase. CHASING REINFORCES THE DECISION TO LEAVE. In fact, if you chase, it helps them Drift, and leaving becomes a lot easier. It gives them the emotional support they need to feel attractive enough to meet other people. If you are in Shift, knowing how to implement Step 2 and 3 is very important in your Relationship Rewind. But to make sure theyre done properly, you need to avoid chasing at all costs. This means not going out of your way to make contact, apologize, or change their mind about leaving.

Partners cannot leave on their own; they can only be chased away. In order to leave, one must be chased. When chasing does not occur, you are passing the evaluation period that the partner creates and allows for a sensible resolution of the problem. The idea of leaving you becomes much harder, and trying to sort things out seems like a much more sensible option when you refuse to chase.

chapter 6
How to find out how your partner really feels about you
Many people think that if your partner HATES you, that is a bad thing. Its not. Love and hatred are a lot closer than one might imagine. The real enemy is INDIFFERENCE. The only way to move on from someone you feel passion for is to allow yourself to become indifferent to him or her. It is much easier to do this if that person you felt passion for removes all elements of challenge, tension, and independence by chasing you. Relationship Rewind works by determining the stage youre in, increasing the passion by whatever means necessary, and then turning that passion to bliss. That is why, regardless of what stage of the relationship you are in, it only takes understanding Steps 2 and 3 of the Relationship Rewind to get back to where things once were.
here are really only two levels of interest; indifference and passion. All the emotions you feel for someonelove, hate, attraction, angerare forms of passion and can easily be switched from one to the other at any time. Indifference is a lack of passion, and thus a lack of all emotion toward you. You might be thinking that just because you only had a very short time together in Bliss, perhaps you only went on a single date, or hooked up once, it means that your partner is indifferent. That would be true, except that you can still STIMULATE your partners emotions to increase passion. The element of passion still exists even after a short time in Bliss. Only you can chase your partner to indifference.

properly manage those emotions to return to Bliss. Any emotion is good emotion, even if it is anger or hate. You can work with this passion to turn it back to positive emotions. Your key focus should be to get out of indifference if you feel a Drift has occurred. How to do this is covered in Step 2 and then how to supercharge that passion into bliss/love is covered in Step 3. Just remember that your emotion/ passion comes first, and getting that emotion/passion to the level you need it to restore the relationship may take some work, but is easily executed.

chapter 7
To
continue moving forward with the next two steps you need to have a certain level of acceptance of the situation you are in. As mentioned in the beginning of the chapter, the key to making this work is being honest with the stage you are in, and not holding on to the hope that things will just simply fix themselves and be back in Bliss with no work. First off, you need to accept the factregardless if you are in Shift, Drift, or Deaths Doorthe dynamics of the relationship have changed and so has your partners feelings toward you. At this point you should know what stage you are in and what caused the relationship decay. It can also be helpful to try to gauge if your partner is indifferent to you, or is currently judging the fabric of your relationship. In most cases, this is the difference between being in Switch and Drift, which are most likely the two stages you are in. However, other parts of the book

he best mindset to continue with Relationship Rewind is that it is not you or even your actions during the relationship that caused the decay; but rather it was simply mishandling the situations that caused a change from Bliss to Switch and from Drift to Deaths Door. Accept that you may have put much more energy into the relationship than your partner, and in order to regain balance, you need to remove some of that extra attention you have given them in the past. The good news is they probably took this attention for granted, so whatever
small amount you remove will be noticed, and have a strong effect on them. Realize that your devoted attention is valuable, and for this person to receive it again, it is something they must earn. The closer you can bring yourself to temporary indifference to the person you are trying to reestablish a relationship with, the easier the following steps will be. Meaning the best way to pursue getting your partner back, is to remove the outcome dependency of getting them back. This will further influence behaviors that will re-spark attraction in your partner.

GLOSSARY
Artificial Acceptance (AA) Communicating to your partner that you are OK with the break up, in order to show a Willingness to Walk Away (WTWA). The WTWA will immediately make them second-guess the breakup and makes you more attractive to them. Blame Game - Describes the dynamic of indirectly making your partner feel responsible for the breakup. When a person truly feels as if they are responsible for a failing relationship, they feel a natural urge to make amends. IMPORTANT: You should never verbally tell them its their fault for things going wrong. If you truly believed it was their fault, you would naturally display a high WTWA (Willingness to Walk Away), and go out of your way to verbally reassure them that its NOT their fault. The classic example of this is when your partner says, Its not you, its me. When your partner says this, they are trying to make you feel OK about the breakup so that you dont get too upset about it. They are being the bigger person, so to speak. Naturally, you feel as though you did something to turn them off, and are pulled back into the relationship to figure out what went wrong, and then fix it. Bliss - Stage one in the Relationship Breakdown. Bliss describes 100% happiness with a person, where you will overlook ALL signs pointing otherwise. You are blind to their faults, and work to overcome any apparent obstacles in the relationship. The Bliss stage contains an abundance of both Bliss moments, and bonding experiences, both defined below. Bliss Moment - A moment where you share pure happiness and are 100% content with your partner. It is the state where nothing else in the universe seems to matter, because you have that person. Bliss moments lead to bonding, but not all bonding experiences are blissful. To the contrary, many bonding experiences contain high levels of stress, fear or uncertainty.

Bonding Experience - A planned experience that creates emotional BONDING between you and your partner. A Bliss moment is one type of bonding experience, and is quite mild in comparison. While a Bliss moment is always happy and promotes bonding between your and your partner, a bonding experience is not always happy. The best bonding experiences usually involve overcoming a great challenge together. i.e. being trapped in an elevator together; experiencing fear and uncertainty together, but end up safe and victorious. Deaths Door - The fourth and final stage in a Relationship Breakdown. It is the stage where your partner has taken significant action(s) to distance themselves from you. Deaths Door is Switch Reinforcement Level 3: Your partners decision to leave you has received positive reinforcement from their entire social circle (i.e. family, friends). Its not impossible to recover from Deaths Door, but you should always seriously evaluate the possibility of moving on, since recovery is not always easy from this stage. Drift - The third stage in a Relationship Breakdown. The main characteristic of Drift is that your partner becomes very indifferent to you, and is much less interested in seeing you or communicating with you. At this stage, they are exploring their options. Drift is Switch Reinforcement Level 2: Your partners friends and family have given them positive reinforcement to leave you. Emotion First, Love Later (EFLL) - EFLL is the basic strategy of igniting a strong emotional response in your partner, positive or negative. There will be times when igniting a negative response is the only option, so that the emotion can more easily be flipped into passion or love. It stems from the basic idea that love and hate are very similar as they are both passionate, uncontrollable emotions; and they are both opposite from indifference. Encourage Never Require (ENR) - A communication strategy, most useful for text messages in Drift and Deaths Door, where you encourage a response from your partner, but you do not REQUIRE a response. A classic example is sending a text message like OMG something just reminded me of u. Your partner would be very curious to find out what reminded you of them, and therefore motivated to respond. However, you are not asking a question which requires a response, and you will not lose any status if they dont respond.

False Friendship (FF) - A strategy for men similar to Artificial Acceptance. FF shows that you are cool with being just friends, so that you are able to see and meet with your ex in person. The ultimate goal of FF is to create intense, memorable bonding experiences with them. Four Stages Of Relationship Breakdown, Relationship Breakdown Describes the four stages of your partner feelings and attraction toward you, from positive to negative. In order, the stages are Bliss, Switch, Drift, and Deaths Door. Goal Self Image (GSI) - The internal movie your partner makes inside their mind when they think of their ideal self and their goals. To be most attractive to your partner, you must be constantly aware of their GSI, reinforce and support it, and behave as if you already see them as that person. No Contact - The now obsolete, but common belief that you should cut off all communication with your ex-partner to get them back, meanwhile praying behind the scenes that they do come back to you. This has a very mild effect of making your partner feel as if they miss you. However, since it does not handle the real reason for the breakup in the first place, it wont work in the long term. Real Reason, Real Reason For The Breakup - This is the underlying reason your partner has lost interest. In 95% of relationships, there are only three Real Reasons. You should address all three, if you want the best chances of getting your partner back. Rule of 1:1 - A text messaging strategy best for Drift and Deaths Door, where you only send one piece of communication at a time, until your partner responds. This discipline will hone your self-control, and also give you the best chance in becoming attractive to your ex-partner again.

RELATIONSHIP REWIND
Switch - The second stage in a Relationship Breakdown. During Switch, something has happened to cause doubt in your partners mind. It has put them into a state of evaluation where they are trying to determine if you are really right for them. Switch is best characterized by hot and cold behavior, moodiness, and inconsistent behavior from your partner. Switch is at Switch Reinforcement Level 1: They only internally experienced this doubt, or perhaps shared it with one very close friend. Switch Reinforcement Level (SRL) - The level of positive reinforcement your partner has received in doubting your relationship. The level of reinforcement your partner receives, both internally and from other people, has a lead role in determining which stage in the breakdown you will be at. Switcheroo - A four-step preventative technique to becoming aware of a Switch about to occur/currently happening, quickly recovering the power balance, and bringing the relationship back to Bliss. Willingness To Walk Away (WTWA) - The attitude that you can leave the relationship at any moment in time. This attitude is not only attractive as youre playing the traditional game of hard to get, but goes a very long way in keeping the relationship in Bliss. Since a true willingness to walk away is sometimes difficult to express, especially when youre in love with a person, it must sometimes be cultivated.
