There are literally thousands of ways you can heal and balance your chakras.

Meditat ion and visualization are both very popular choices, sound is another good metho d, sight is yet another (using yantras or mandalas), and smell works really well too it s called aromatherapy. Yoga is another very popular way to work on your ch akras, and I could go as the list is too long to recite. But do each of these modalities work equally well? The answer is yes, and no. Or the proverbial, it depends. First of all, I think it s important to realize that each healing modality is actu ally more closely associated with each one of the chakras. This means that one m ethod may work better for a particular chakra than another.?Let me explain. The 6th and 7th chakras balance well with visualization and meditation and pure energy work, because they are in the higher frequency realm. The seventh chakra isn t even truly physical it s our spiritual connection to everything. It resides off the body, above the crown of our head. The sixth chakra is at the third eye in th e middle of the forehead and it is the least physical of the sixth bodily-related chakras. Think of your bodily chakras stacked up like a sort of pyramid with the lowest o ne, your first chakra creating the wide and heavy base of the pyramid, and the h ighest one in your body, your sixth chakra, representing the highest tip of the pyramid. It s light and airy and easily mutable, while the first chakra is dense a nd heavy and more difficult to change (in fact, the first chakra represents and strengthens stability, so it s very nature is the opposite of change. Each chakra also relates to a sense and an element, like this: First chakra = smell/earth Second chakra = taste/water Third chakra = sight/fire Fourth chakra = touch/air Fifth chakra = hearing/sound Sixth chakra = sixth sense /light Seventh chakra is off the body and unrelated to the sensory world, so it has no associations, except to pure consciousness. So, for the first chakra, the best, long term healing comes from very physical a ctivities like hatha yoga, because the first chakra is the most dense and most r elated to the physical body. Smell-oriented treatments, like aromatherapy, work well too because this chakra is related to your sense of smell. Gemstones are gr eat for first chakra healing as well, because stones are from the earth, the ele ment of this chakra. For the second chakra which is still very dense and physical hatha yoga is good especially tantrically-oriented yoga that plays with intimacy. Healing with cha kra foods is good for this chakra since it s related to taste, and doing aquatic b odywork like watsu (pictured) is really good too, because the second chakra is r elated to the water element. For the third chakra Visual therapy like working with yantras is very good here, as are affirmations and Byron Katie s The Work, because our conscious, mental reaso ning ability and our self-image are both associated with the third chakra. Sun b athing is good, because the third chakra is related to the fire element, and it s located in the solar plexus.?And if you re up for it, fire walking will stoke your third chakra in a major way. For the fourth chakra the bridge between the lower (more physical chakras) and the upper (more spiritual chakras), touch is good. Studies show that babies thrive wh en nurses and nanny s hold them, and so do adults. Humans need hugging. Hugging eve n self-hugging (do it now!) is one of the simplest ways to boost and balance hea rt chakra energy. EFT the process of tapping is great for this chakra too, as is breath work, because we breath in and out of this chakra and the element here i s air. For the fifth chakra sound healing takes the cake. You can use this technique t wo simple ways putting sound out, in the form of mantras, chanting, and seed sou nds (or even just singing a favorite song that makes you feel good) and taking s ound in, in the form of crystal bowls, mantras or again, a favorite song. The seed sounds (shortest mantras) for each of the chakras are:

1st Lam 2nd Vam 3rd Ram 4th Yam 5th Ham 6th Om 7th Silence (again, pure consciousness For the sixth chakra visualization is the best tool, since our third eye is grou nd zero for all our dreams and visualizations. This is the place where we spin o ur visions. For the seventh chakra, meditation pure, silent, thoughtless openness is the bes t. Just opening to the space that we are, with nothing added. Now, this is not to say that meditating won t help the first chakra, it can. But w e re talking about a super subtle technique being used on a super dense chakra (ki nd of like hammering a nail with a pencil). It may cause a shift in the energy field of the first chakra, but for it to stay for good, lots of repetition and consistency (both qualities of the first chakr a) are needed. Getting into the actual body tissues and bones works much better for creating long-term, positive, first chakra shifts. And conversely, for the sixth or seventh chakras to be greatly affected by somet hing as physical as hatha yoga, you need to make sure you re paying equal attentio n to your subtle energies while doing your physical practice. It s a trade off. My general suggestion is this: try lots of different modalities so all your chak ras can be affected positively by their most compatible modality. Be aware that you will tend to avoid the modality you need the most. Here s why If you need more first chakra energy (more earth energy), then you tend to live more in your upper chakras, which means you are not deeply inhabiting your body. It also means that you like to float around, not being consistent, and no t committing to things. Unfortunately, the way to balance and heal such an issue is to do what you don t wan t to do go into the body with yoga or conscious bodywork and commit to going in there deeply and consistently. So another rule of thumb is don t just do what you like to do. A popular new age a dage is Do what you love. While that s certainly good some of the time, it s not good all of the time. More of the same cannot create positive change. If you want th ings to change, you need to change the things you do. The general rule of thumb is: Use more meditative-type techniques for the upper chakras, and do more physically-oriented techniques to best effect the lower cha kras. That is, they are tips on how to increase the energy and flow of a ny given chakra. For more information on how to begin using the tattoos, pleas

e refer to Frequently Asked Questions for Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos . Typically, to balance your chakras, you first need to diagnose their current sta te. You need to discover which chakras are deficient and which ones are excessi ve. To determine the current state of your chakras now, please take this quick and easy Chakra Test. Don t think too much answer instinctually. Whether or not you take a chakra test, it s important to be aware that your chakra s are always shifting always meaning 24/7. They may be shifting in subtle or no t-so-subtle ways, depending on what s going on in your life and whether or not you are consciously engaged in chakra healing. For this reason, it is good to have a general, chakra balancing meditation that will be effective regardless of the state of your chakras. We offer a great, gu ided Daily Chakra Balancing Meditation as part of our online course, Boost Your F irst Chakra for Grounding & Prosperity. If you prefer, you can follow these instr uctions, and do it on your own: Find a comfortable seated position cross-legged or sitting in a chair with your feet planted firmly on the ground. Now, your body s position always affects your e nergy, so it s important you take a moment to adjust your posture all the way up y our spine. This way, the energy of the spinal channel can flow unimpeded during the meditation. First, make sure you have a slight lumbar curve in your lower back. If your lowe r back feels outwardly curved, boost your hips a bit by sitting on the edge of a folded blanket, or grab your thighs with both hands and turn them inward and ba ckward, drawing the flesh of your sitting bones back, slightly widening your sit ting bones apart. For best results, bow forward slightly as you take your thigh s back and apart. After you create a slight lumbar curve, scoop your tailbone down toward the floo r. In other words, tilt your pelvis back a bit and ground the energy of your ta ilbone downward. This should create a sensation of slight engagement in your ab domen. Then lift your chest up higher, and widen your collarbones to the sides, expanding your heart center. Finally, take the sides of your neck back slightly to line your neck up with the rest of your spine, and then lift up lightly thro ugh the crown of your head. You are now in optimal spinal alignment. Place your hands gently on your thighs and close your eyes. Gently draw your attention to the base of your spine. Imag ine your tailbone has an actual tail (or cord) a red one. Visualize this red co rd extending from your tailbone all the way to the core of the earth. See it at taching to the core of the planet, and feel how it immediately grounds and conne cts you to Mother Earth. On the next inhale, draw earth energy up the red cord, into your spine, and all the way up into your heart. Hold it for a moment, then exhale up the spine, and visualize bright white light extending up to the sky, like a whale s spout. Pause a moment, then inhale white energy from the sky back through your crown in to the bottom of your heart. Hold it a moment, then exhale, sending it back dow n the spine to the core of the earth. Repeat this process several times, until y ou feel both calm and energized in a balanced way. Suggestions for Boosting Individual Chakras The meditation above is for general daily use when you want to balance all the c hakras evenly. Studies show that babies thrive wh

en nurses and nanny s hold them, and so do adults. The seed sounds (shortest mantras) for each of the chakras are: 1st Lam 2nd Vam 3rd Ram 4th Yam 5th Ham 6th Om 7th Silence (again, pure consciousness For the sixth chakra visualization is the best tool, since our third eye is grou nd zero for all our dreams and visualizations. Many of the chakra balancing tips you find in books or online are really chakra bo osting tips. That is, they are tips on how to increase the energy and flow of a ny given chakra. Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos are called boosters, but they ar e actually balancers, because they are sized in a way that boosts a deficient chak ra while reducing an excessive one. This means that you can use Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos to balance your chakr as without having to diagnose your chakras first. But it s important to realize t hat putting on all seven Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos at once may be too much of a boost to your energy system if you are not used to running much energy thr ough your system. For more information on how to begin using the tattoos, pleas e refer to Frequently Asked Questions for Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoos . Sometimes you may want to focus on boosting a particular chakra i f it feels low in energy or if a diagnostic test has singled it out as being def icient. The sixth chakra is at the third eye in th e middle of the forehead and it is the least physical of the sixth bodily-related

chakras.

Balancing the Chakras Many of the chakra balancing tips you find in books or online are really chakra bo osting tips. Hold it for a moment, then exhale up the spine, and

visualize bright white light extending up to the sky, like a whale s spout.

The seed sounds (shortest mantras) for each of the chakras are: 1st Lam 2nd Vam 3rd Ram 4th Yam 5th Ham

6th Om 7th Silence (again, pure consciousness For the sixth chakra visualization is the best tool, since our third eye is grou nd zero for all our dreams and visualizations. Finally, take the sides of your neck back slightly

to line your neck up with the rest of your spine, and then lift up lightly thro ugh the crown of your head. 9) Place a 7th Chakra Boosters Healing Tattoo on the top of the crown (if you r e bald) or anywhere else on the body the back of the high heart (between the 4th and 5th chakras) is a particularly effective spot.
