Targeting government funds to become the most popular individual sporting activity in England by 2017 An engaged and representative democracy? Greater emphasis on local delivery Sustained sport investment into local athletics clubs, networks, competition, officials, facilities and schools Improving the understanding and perception of England Athletics?

Operational Changes
Move to 4 local delivery teams from 3 splintering London from the South Delegation of education coordination to the 4 local delivery teams All under the leadership of 1 manager in each area

Delegation of further resources to local teams such as education subsidies, network grants and such
Head office economies of scale further planned in advance of April 2014 Restructuring of coaching UKA/EA department to provide cost efficiencies

Participation
132,000 registered club athletes with NGB at April 1st 2013 (108,000 to date in 13-14) Weekly adult participation in all forms of the sport just over 2m circa 420k growth between 09-13. Stringent participant targets agreed with Sport England for 13-17 50,000 Run England members, 1250 registered running groups, 5000 trained and licensed Running Leaders Targeted city activation project in London delivers 120,000 participants with funding

extension secured through to 2017. Similar projects initiated in other cities.

Formation of RUN GROUP bringing together the major commercial running providers as part of a collective approach to participation Facility capital fund live compact athletics facility launched in London similar investments in Sheffield, Manchester and Nottingham Athletics Network funding extended into 13-14 panels complete and investment allocated Over 500 volunteers nominated for regional awards in 2012 9 regional events 400 people attend EA Hall Of Fame event 2013 event takes place on 19th October

Circa 5,000 coaches, assistants and leaders trained consistent with other years but
still issues with qualifying more at Athletics Coach level Continued investment in the Area Officials Association Conference programme in the Midlands, South West, South and North to be repeated in 2013

Talent
Circa 400 club athletics coaches at our 2012 and 2013 national coaching conference series a full autumn and winter development programme now underway across the country Circa 1,000 coaches directly supported through the LCDP and NCDP offering 400,000 hours of support to circa 22,000 talented aspiring club athletes nationwide 60% talented aspiring athletes aged 14-25 are supported by coaches on the NCDP and 33% supported by coaches on LCDP

Full programme of EA National Champs delivered including senior champs as part of British Championships being reviewed for 2015 onwards

Competition grants made to Area Associations and 24 County Athletic Associations for the first time repeated in 2013
Sustained investment through ESAA to 2017 using ring fenced SE funds

390 coach registrations 65 attendees at Run Leader workshops, aimed to help bridge the gap between leading and coaching 16 delegates receiving coaching diary support as part of the coaching marketplace 30 mentees from the National Coach Development Programme involved in workshop delivery 14,550 income generated from coach registrations and grants Approx 2000 income generated from sales of Athletics 365 resources to be reinvested

Athletes 3rd Fastest 200m ever ran by an Under 23 man Adam Gemili 20.30 4 Championship Best performances 15 - %increase of entries, for the 2nd year running 17 Under 20 winners performances are top of UK rankings 91.7 % Turnout 217 Seasons best performances 130 Events 138 Shots fired! 253 - Personal Bests performances 335 Coach accreditations issued. 254 pre booked 64 on the day 976 - Athletes attended the weekend 1,148- Numbers of entries to the event 7808 Safety pins issued!!
