Motorolas FTTH portfolio
Motorolas FTTH portfolio includes RF over glass (RFoG) and gigabit passive optical networking (GPON). Motorolas end-to-end RFoG
solutions allow cable operators to deploy all-ber networks today while supporting existing RF video and DOCSIS services with the embed-
ded infrastructure. The RFoG portfolio includes high-performance optical transmitters, optical ampliers, both high-sensitivity and high-den-
sity optical return receivers, modular optical nodes that can serve both RFoG and HFC serving areas from the same unit, and a full suite of
optical network units to optimize cost and features. Motorolas RFoG solutions enable a PON solution to be overlaid today or in the future
to provide IP video and next-generation Internet services. Motorolas GPON solutions offer innovations such as indoor/outdoor ONTs with
802.11n Wi-Fi and with integrated battery backup and SCTE 51, supporting RF overlay applications; extended-reach PON architectures;
interoperability; and higher-capacity, next-gen PON solutions.
You can count on Motorolas expertise in carrier-class video entertainment and broadband networking technologies to deliver FTTH solu-
tions to help you protably deliver to both residential and commercial subscribers.

Hitachis exible FTTP solutions for cable operators
Hitachi offers an extensive selection of PON solutions, including RFoG and advanced EPON-based DePON products. This exibility enables MSOs to
implement an incremental migration approach, rolling out ber-optic access in step with actual network revenue potential. Operators can deploy
Hitachis RFoG or EPON/DePON products separately or in combination for triple play, business services, mobile backhaul, wholesale interconnect and
other advanced subscriber services.

Harmonics flexible fiber architecture uses the latest in WDM (wave division multiplexing) technology to leverage the existing
outside plant, minimize operating expenses, and deliver a full range of residential and commercial services. Harmonics MAXLink
Plus 1550 nm transport system enables headend consolidation over distances of 300 km or more, reducing the operating costs of
secondary or remote headends while allowing operators to get the most out of their capital equipment budgets. The complete
lineup of broadcast television is transmitted over the video backbone to each hub using Harmonics MAXLink 1550 nm solution.
Data, VoIP and VOD content are carried on DWDM wavelengths from the headend to hubs using Harmonics METROLink DWDM
transmitter.
In the last mile, Harmonics SUPRALink 1550 nm, PWRLink 1310 nm and METROLink DWDM transmitters efficiently deliver the
full range of content and services to PWRBlazer nodes. The recently introduced SUPRALink line of products can carry 1 GHz of
full-band analog and digital content per wavelength over 40 km, allowing deeper deployment of optical nodes and minimizing the
expense of deploying more fiber. SUPRALink is scalable to eight wavelengths in one-wavelength increments without sacrificing fiber
distance, providing system operators with a pay-as-you-grow solution that can accommodate their evolving needs for more
network capacity.
Four-way segmentation for both the forward and the return transmission is achievable with the scalable PWRBlazer nodes. This is
achieved using Harmonics full range of dedicated analog and digital return path transmitters that are based on CWDM and DWDM
technology, including a 65 MHz digital solution. The high output power node is also very well adapted for extremely deep deploy-
ments such as node-plus-zero or node-plus-one architectures. In addition, Harmonics MAXLink forward path transmitters and
return path receivers can be used in a cost-effective RF over glass (RFoG) architecture for greenfield-type deployments, enabling
cable operators to provide a competitive and reliable fiber-to-the-home solution.
